I thought this was a great article on her acceptance of our season. She is a talented and witty writer. Enjoy, I did. http://www.salon.com/news/sports/2005/08/09/hate/index.html

If you watched the highlights on MLB.com, the Yankee announcers fell in LOVE with Aaron during the course of the series! It was a pleasure to listen too.

QUOTE(Cleats67 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Sorry to post this again, but I am really bummed I am maybe going to miss the Yankees when they come in. I have 2 tix for 8/20 (sec. 146, row 21, seats 3 and 4) that I would really like to trade for some lower level tickets for Friday night's game, 8/19. Before I give them away, is there anyone that would trade with me? Please PM me and we can get together for the details. Thanks Is Joe Randa available, too?

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) I said "This will be a sickening loss".... however it's only a sickening loss if we actually lose... Of course I guess I should be praising Ozzie's brilliant strategies huh? We won this game in spite of Ozzie tonight, not because of him... He better put a better lineup on the field tomarrow... I don't ever want to see Timo hitting 5th again... I care too much about this team to want to see them lose games like this when they should of been in the bag... They won... and now I can breathe easier... but to say this wouldn't of been a sickening loss would mean you were in screaming denial... 73 wins Ozzie is a GREAT manager. PERIOD. END OF STATEMENT. Should Dustin come in earlier. Yes. But for people to assume we will lose immmediately and call Ozzie a "stupid f***ing manager" is outregeous.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) This is going to be a sickening loss... This makes me just sick... And here is where you said we'd lose.
-
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Yeah you'd want to keep all the die hards away.... I never said we we're going to lose... But it Ozzie's stupid managing cost us this game... it would of been a sickening loss.... MARTE IS NOT A CLOSER! Now I think I realized why I don't post here that often anymore... ...and Marte is dangerously close to blowing the game as I type this... That's exactly what you said.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) This is going to be a sickening loss... This makes me just sick... Please stay away when we win the division then. Obviously, this isn't the team for you.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) Our manager is a f***ing idiot. Even if we win this game, he's put us in a situation to lose. WORST POST OF THE YEAR :headshake um...72 wins Also, I don't see Ozzie pitching. :headshake

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Meh, it's like a big jumping thingy. The look on his face was priceless, admit it. Pray for a shooting and then it'll be like a Three Stooges film!!! :headshake

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) Yes sir! Way to keep the ball down Cliffy! For better or worse, it's Hermanson's time to shine. What's with the negitivity??

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Does this feel like an Oakland game now? You mean when your number 4 pitcher with an ERA over four shuts down the Yankees in NY for 7 innings and you are winning and there is nothing but negativity in the Game Thread...yes it does.

My Top Three are: 3. Bo Jackson's return on opening day 1993, his first at-bat he hit a home-run. 2. 1993 Clinching game. Bo's towering homerun that went as high as the upper deck. 1. 1983 Clinching game. I was 11, but I remember it like yesterday.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) Someone piss in your cheerios today? Christ, say anything bad about Brooks and be crucified. Say anything that the majority of people don't agree with and be crucified. SORRY for being busy on a Thursday and thinking they could have done better. s***, they could have done this before school started on a weekday. Sorry for expressing my opinion. I'll remember not to again. And...the fact they are making pay for it sucks too!!! Plus we don't get to sit in the dugout with the team. Add to the fact, they might lose that game..they should only send us to games that they have won in advance. This could have been handled better, I agree!

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 05:59 AM) Because that's the only night left on the schedule that they could accomidate a group this large. Funny.... now attendance is a bad thing. :rolly Some are never happy

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) I just had DBAH0 change the title here for me to find out interest levels. It would almost have to be an early game, maybe 8am or 8:30. And if it works out, this could be a fun thing to do annually. Also if there is legit interest, are we talking about 12" or real Chicago softball? I have stuff to play 12", but nothing to play 16", so if people wanted to do that, we would need someone to bring balls. Wouldn't co-ed be 12"? Either one is fine by me!

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) I'm in if softball is involved! I'm in if softball and breakfast are involved. We could put the Waffle maker at 3rd!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) Kap, which Texan are we going to make President in '08? I'm thinking the Hammer. Dan Pasqua?!?

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Yeah, that must be a b**** getting the ballpark. 53 to 90 to 94. Yuck. I wonder if I'll see him at Woodfield Mall or something. I saw him at Todai in Woodfield over the summer. Actually my son noticed him first. He loves him!

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) You're not going to sit downstairs with the rest of us...??? I'm not sure... I am trying to convice my buddy with whom I sit. The problem is that he has used all his change dates, so he would be buying an extra ticket. Only if you put out...
