  1. Josh Norris ‏@jnorris427 3m Rodon inning 2: 20 pitches, 11 strikes. FB 90-95, SL 85-88, CH 83. One K, looking, on a slider. #WhiteSox

  4. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 16m White Sox saying Garcia got hit in the left elbow area. Still waiting for an update past that
  5. BA's Josh Norris will be at the Dash game apparently, so we should get some good notes on Danish/Rodon.
  6. Ben Brewster with a nice A+ debut: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 1 BB, 3 SO.
  7. Scoreboard Charlotte - Wang Birmingham - Blough Winston-Salem - Brennan Kannapolis - McKenzie Great Falls - Thompson AZL - Adams
  8. Yelmison Peralta for AZL Sox: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 SO, 7 GO/0 FO Could be one to watch: Jay Hashop @sevenfuturehit · 10h B3: Yelmison Peralta takes over for Leesman, cranks consistent 95, freezes Day with a no-chance curve. Slinger. Quick worker. Fun to watch. $200k singing from 2012.
  9. Callis gives 5 extra prospects in addition to hit top 20, still no Ravelo: http://jimcallis.mlblogs.com/2014/08/01/bo...ts-nos-21-25-2/
  10. From the BA Hot Sheet, Matt Davidson "Not-So Hot"
  11. Brian Clark has been pretty good so far: 23 IP, 5 BB, 26 SO, 1 HR I liked that pick quite a lot, though obviously he should be good at this level. Hopefully it continues tonight.
  12. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 05:05 AM) Spencer Adams: 12.57 K/9, 0.81 BB/9 That's slightly inflated by him facing quite a few batters (thanks in part to a BABIP that must be well over .400), but his K and BB rates are still elite - 31.3 K%, 2 BB%. .391 BABIP. 1.88 FIP. 1.80 SIERA So stud.
  13. Luis Martinez continues to look good with his best outing of the season: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 SO
  14. May with his 37th steal at an 86% success rate.
  15. QUOTE (shoeless_joe21 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) Thank you, that helps. An extra box score that I get to check each day is always a good thing. Age is very important for the DSL guys. Mainly I would focus on the younger guys who are doing something interesting like 17 year old Josbel Coroba striking out over a batter per inning, still 16 year old (for another month) Nelson Acosta who is almost striking out a batter per inning, 17 year old catcher Carlos Perez who is hitting .300 while striking out in less than 9% of his PA's etc.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 06:45 PM) Uggla to the Giants. So that could take them out of middle infield trade targets. Are the Giants a fit as a trade partner for the Sox? I think Andrew Susac would be an excellent target as a possible long-term solution to the catcher position. He's in AAA and is presumably close to being MLB ready so would fit in with what Hahn has been doing recently. He should be at least average defensively with a nice offensive skillset and is obviously blocked by Posey.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) Wasn't a fan of Walker since the draft, but I probably viewed him with too high of expectations considering he was our 1st pick in the late 40s, hate the idea of an early picked JUCO kid Tim Anderson?
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 06:39 AM) btw is that Andrew Mitchell the sox prospect that was mention as best secondary pitch? Yes. From his BA draft scouting report "He has the best curveball among college prospects this year, a sharp 80-81 mph bender that can be unhittable.".
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 02:03 AM) I've got some great news about our big speedy OF Adam Engel. Apparently he is INSANELY fast. Stoltz says he's faster than Micah..... Nathaniel Stoltz ‏@stoltz_baseball Jul 19 Most of the few players who possess Adam Engel's crazy speed aren't anywhere near as big or strong. Have never timed Engel, but I think he's the superior runner (to Micah Johnson). I think Engel is faster, though. He just flies all over the place. Plus-plus range in center, first to third in a blink. Micah's got tremendous speed, but I've never seen him just explode on the bases like Engel does. If he can even hit .240 with a few walks, he'll be a nice player. Should have some pop, big speed/D value. I've got to say that's the best thing I've heard about Engel. Of course he is too old for his league, but his bat can catch up some, it sounds like his speed and D should carry him. Positive stuff but nothing new. BA's best draft tools from 2013: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/best-tools-2013-draft/ Engel in there for best athlete, fastest runner and best defensive player.
  20. Jake Peter 4-4, 3 2B. Why is he still at this level? Only the 6th inning. Great Falls have scored 13 runs without a HR.
  21. Semien 2-2, 2B, HR Ravelo 1-3, HR
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 06:25 PM) I think they are too high on Micah Johnson. He looks like a solid player, but if you look at his overall line this year, it is not that great. .312 BA, .369 OBP, .417 SLG, .787 OPS and 18 SBs to 11 CSs. Even though Semien is not eligible, I have no hesitation thinking he will be the better pro. He's making excellent contact but the walks and power have disappeared in Triple-A. The exact same thing happened to him last year when making the jump from A to A+. Maybe he just takes a while to adjust to a new level?
  23. Very nice start from Matt Ball 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO, 5 GO/2 FO
  24. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 03:54 AM) I notice that too, but he's a guy who can hit at a high average and has might have the best contact skills in the farm but that should be something that comes down with experience. I like comparing his stats to Corey Seager of the Dodgers at this time last year and I think that he is doing better. At the same age/level (19, single-A): Seager- .309/.389/.529, 10.9 BB%/18.6 K%, .220 ISO, .353 BABIP Trey- .297/.379/.477, 10.2 BB%/27.9 K%, .180 ISO, .407 BABIP It's not close between the two. Trey's numbers are nice, Seager's are elite. Trey may be hitting near .300 but he's not making good contact. I really have no idea how you could consider him to have the best contact skills in the system.
  25. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 02:30 AM) Wheeler had a hell of game with 9 k's in 4 IP with 0 er. I like Wheeler. He's an interesting sleeper. Good numbers since turning pro. Still raw with some upside.
