  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) Talk about rough starts... Dale Mollenhauer is hitting .089 for B-Ham in his first 11 games. And none of his 4 hits are XBH. It may be time for Drew Garcia and Mollenhauer to swap places. Justin Fuller is even worse, .074.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) I don't think you are going to get any sympathy with what is going on in Chicago right now. I have tickets to 61 more games.
  3. Can you guys take up a collection to buy me a flask and some good liquor to take with me out to the ballpark?
  4. Erick Threets is on the DL, by the way. That's the spot McCulloch took in Charlotte.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) Do we need another arm at Charlotte? McCulloch was promoted to Charlotte, Dobies is coming to B'ham. Don't know who's spot McCulloch is taking in Charlotte.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) TEACH HIM THE CUTTER. You know it. And a change up too.
  7. The Barons now have a sub .200 winning percentage. On a brighter note, one of the few things in life it's okay for a man to cry about, I got to take my son to his first baseball game. Even better, he's already showing signs that he's left handed.
  8. It seems that OF Brady Shoemaker has been sent back to extended spring training. RHP Justin Collop was placed on the DL and LHP Zachary Piccola was assigned to Kannapolis from extended spring training.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) Also seems to indicate that they don't think Gonzalez or Dubler are ready to move up. That too.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) Catcher Chase Blackwood was assigned to Winston-Salem to fill the open roster spot. Okay, so now Jeffrey Tezak was sent back to Kannapolis and the White Sox signed catcher Jason Bour and assigned him to Winston-Salem. Bour formerly was a farmhand of the Reds. So, signing a catcher off the street is not a good sign for the health of either Logan Johnson or Josh Phegley. One or both of them may miss significant time.
  11. Catcher Chase Blackwood was assigned to Winston-Salem to fill the open roster spot.
  12. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:13 AM) didn't see any picture, but, on a side note, there is a great pic of seth loman in the team leaders area. he looks developmentally disabled. Well, we can't all be as pretty as you.
  13. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) Anything serious with Phegley? I bet he got hurt celebrating, check out the pic on the front page of the Dash website.
  14. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) Title and FutureSox posted updated for Phil Negus and Trayce Thompson moving up to Kannapolis. Interesting, still doesn't solve W-S's short term catching depth issue though.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) Phegley on the DL?! OK so, either Gonzalez or Dubler will move up to W-S, and that means they'll both get starting time. Dubler getting another shot to show he can do something. Say they move Dubler up to W-S, there are only two other catchers in the system that I know of who could take his place at Kanny. Chase Blackwood or Robert Vaughn.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) The various W-S catcher injuries are now up on FS. Perhaps things got rowdy at a bar after the exciting finish to the game? Logan Johnson and Leroy Hunt were hurt in games, so their injuries aren't in question.
  17. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) I don't get it. Does Viciedo have to get hits every day to avoid being criticized? He went 2-4 plus a walk on Tuesday, and 2-4 on Wednesday... But goes hitless on Thursday and gets called out by people? I still don't understand why people refer to his numbers last year as a disappointment, he was one of the league leaders. 8th in games played, 2nd in at bats, 4th in runs scored, 2nd only to Retherford in hits, 2nd only to David Cook in RBI, 7th in total bases.
  18. Yeah, W-S still has a roster spot open, so they can add a catcher. They'll need to, because as of right now, Luis Sierra is the only person who can play catcher on the roster who is healthy. And he is a utility player. I don't know what is going on with the Dash players, three guys put on the DL in two days, crazy.
  19. Damn, now Josh Phegley is on the DL and Jeffrey Tezak was promoted to Winston-Salem.
  20. The latest transactions from Baseball America have posted. April 6th through the 14th, nothing shocking, Brady Clark was released, Miguel Negron was placed on the restricted list, and Scott Elarton, Brian Omogrosso, Derek Rodriguez, Brandon Hynick and Jared Mitchell were placed on the DL. Elarton of course has since been assigned to Charlotte.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) I don't understand trading for Gonzalez for basically just one season (doubtful on the possibility of an extension like Garcia signed right after being traded in 2004)...you know he's going to test the market with how underpaid he is. Buddy Bell on the subject of Tyler Flowers "We are trying to transition him back to the basics to get back to where he was last season....Too many thoughts, you just can't play [the game that way]." On his offense "We think the world of him offensively. Very intelligent kid." Let's say the deal was Santos, Flowers, Hudson and Shelby/CJ/Sergio Morales/M. Gonzalez, would anyone pull the trigger on that one? The White Sox released Sergio Morales.
  22. QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Leroy Hunt put on 7 day DL for Winston-Salem, Bellamy called up from Kanny. The Dash still have an open roster spot with those moves.
  23. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) David Holmberg and Trayce Thompson are probably the most notable names in extended ST. Not sure what Jose Martinez is doing. Derek Rodriguez, Brian Omogrosso and Brandon Hynick are on the DL, but probably still in Arizona. There's Daniel Black and Taylor Thompson as well.
  24. Dash catcher Logan Johnson was placed on the DL. Nobody was added to the roster as of right now to fill the opening.
