2008 General Election Discussion Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 02:13 PM) I got out of the habit of doing the weekly poll updates due to some medical concerns about my wife a month ago (she's fine by the way). But I thought I would point these out... CNN Poll: Obama widening lead in battleground states There is no way Obama loses Iowa. It f***ing loves him.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Again, do the Democrats really want to go there? Come on now kap. You can't honestly think she was an intelligent choice.....at all. Whether or not Obama is qualified for the job or not has NOT A f***ING THING to do with the fact that she's ridiculously unqualified to be president.

MacDougal impressions
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 03:07 PM) MM pitching like he did at his best is second only to Jenks in our pen, IMO. When he's throwing strikes, the level of nasty is off the charts. Everything dances.

All I know is that if Barack Obama advocated any state to secede, even Alaska, he'd be painted everything from unAmerican to a terrorist....

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) Just got back from the game. Don't know how people could blame it on Zook. Our offense is just so good. Maclin please god let you not be too injured. At the very least thank god it wasn't your knee. Coffman is awesome, glad he's back to being a primary though it was fun with Rucker last year. Our defense was fine if literally not for our one cornerback who sucked so much I hope he gets cut. Weatherspoon showed why he is an absolute beast and Willy Mo racked up the tackles. Overall, we got much better on defense as the season progressed last year and I see the same this year. Illinois is probably the fastest team we'll play the rest of the year so I'm glad we beat them. That last TD was garbage anyway. Scary to face a good team to start out but even as it got close it wasn't ever that close. Lookin forward to a nice blowout next week though, that's for sure. Football sure makes it feel like the school season is here. It'd be neat to beat you guys. Jack Trice does weird things to Mizzou. I'm not jaded enough to think we have evenn a quarter of the talent that you guys do, but I'd like to think this worlds just crazy enough for me to be able to throw s*** at dan.

McCain chooses Palin for VP
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) i'm just pointing out the flawed logic in a lot of these pro-Obama posts claiming McCain's VP doesn't have the necessary experience.. There's still a world of difference between US Senator and governor of Alaska.

McCain chooses Palin for VP
Counting on a guy that will be 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76 through his first term to not have any serious medical problems, including a stroke, or anything related to his cancer, or years of POWing while tackling the most stressful job in the world.....that's a bit of a gamble too.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 08:54 AM) Yeah Southern Ca......*COUGH* Iowa State looked good last night. The 9 combined turnovers was a bit much. I will say, this is the hardest I've ever seen an ISU team hit.

ISU did exactly what it needed to last night, throttling someone for the first time since the 42-14 of aTm in '05. ISU 44, SDSU 17, and it wasn't that close. ISU forces 6 turnovers, with over 200 interception yards. God, that felt good.
