QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) Pretty nice read by Swisher on that play. I'm thrilled with what I'm seeing from Swisher at the plate. He's swinging like he means it, instead of just gliding the bat through the zone. It'd be neat just to see him slash up there.

Palin's bigger problem in Iowa was she didn't know what city she was in. Referred to Cedar Rapids as Grand Rapids.

It's Time To Shuffle
QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) Definitely. And the bit about "If your boyfriend's got a beef, well I'm a vegetarian" makes me laugh for some reason. I think it's the way he does it. "[singing] And tell your boyfriend, if he says he's got beef [strong talking] that I'm a vegetarian [talk/shout] and I ain't f***in scared of him"

So long, TRL
I remember watching it as well, as they gradually pared music videos down to about half their actual length.

2008 General Election Discussion Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) Apparently Ms. Fiorina and Governor Palin need to have a chat in the morning to get their stories straight. Has OFM addressed sexism at all yet?

I rarely agree with fathom, but we can't pull this s*** with our bullpen. I'd rather have Paolo Orlando on our roster right now, at least he could pinch run. H. Ramirez is useless. He cannot be released or whatever too soon for my liking. Also, going to Wassermann was a braindead move.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) I was thinking HCP for Palin. (Hot Chick Palin) But i'd hate to be accused of sexism by the POW/Sexism Defense Shield. No different than calling out Obama supporters for thinking "he's cool" by referring to him as a rock star.

"We Will Not Be Silenced"
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) You can't ignore the fact that Obama is from Chicago, and dirty politics are as much a part of Chicago as cold weather is a part of the North Pole. Besides that, I don't buy it. Hillary ran a bad campaign and it got her beat, simple as that. The sole reason Obama won is because he mobilized the youth caucus-goers in Iowa. Obama doesn't win Iowa, he doesn't win the nomination. You're basically looking at his focus on the college campuses in Iowa City and Ames, having those kids go home to individual precincts over winter break (where it makes a bigger difference, cause delegate counts can and do shift on the thinking of one caucus goer). At my caucus, there was not one Hillary supporter under 30. But there were enough under 30 to swing my ward to a tie between Edwards and Obama. It's our fault. The totally f***ed part? At the caucuses, 17-29 year olds made up 22%. THE EXACT SAME as 65 and older, the ones that go Hillary's way. When's the last time you saw the amount of under 30 and over 65 voters match up? Especially on a cold January night?

I think I'll just start referring to McCain as OFM. Old f*** McCain. Anywho, I think we can probably list Iowa for Obama now, as his lead there grows to 52-40. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs...NEWS09/80913038 I'd actually guess that's a better than average showing among Evangelicals for Obama.

It's Time To Shuffle
This Photograph is Proof - Taking Back Sunday -One of TBS' slower-paced songs...I like it more or less depending on my mood. The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin Soul Survivor - Young Jeezy and Akon 5000 Ones - DJ Drama Otherside - RHCP Do It For Me Now - Angels & Airwaves Sowing Season - Brand New -Brand New is growing on me. My favorite song is still "Okay, I Trust You, But My Tommy Gun Don't" The Bird and The Worm - The Used Adam's Song - Blink 182 -sad. Hate It or Love It - The Game Super Duper Bonus Song Don't Trust Me - 3OH!3 -Working Helen Keller into this song earns bonus points.

QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) I'll miss smooth jazz wnua 95.5. Hope he catches on with Fox so I could catch games he calls from time to time. I figured this was coming but now that its so it will be weird to watch games without em both. Hawk and Stone will be weird, like eating canned tuna with watermelon. That and your sig are two of the funnier things on this site.

Official 2008-2009 College Football Thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Mississippi State and Auburn should not be allowed to play football anymore. That was pathetic. 3-2? What? We lost 17-5 in a game that was an abomination of football. Disgusting.
