  1. Oh goddammit. BA will just have to match Stewart.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) Is that ok? BA with a jack already, Egbert currently 6 IP, 0 R, 8 K. I'm really just waiting for DJ to muff another foul ball, and it'll be stellar as long as we win.
  3. :uhoh BRIAN f***ING ANDERSON I SAID HED GET A HIT

    DCook on FIRE
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) The ongoing DJ stuff is great. I really hope he muffs another one tonight, because I guarantee hilarity would ensue. BA should get a hit this inning.
  6. QUOTE (rafacosta @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 06:51 PM) 2nd time we see this pitcher...they will do something...hope so. done
  7. Bunch of houseboats hung up on a bridge just north of downtown.

http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...94&sid=t494 Egbert strong early. http://birmingham.barons.milb.com/milb/sta...47&sid=t247 Day with a mediocre start, O'Malley decent enough in relief so far. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...wswafa_wilafa_1 No O from WS. http://intimidatorsbaseball.com/clubhouse/...lexafx_kanafx_1 Gallagher went deep.

Mustaches would be better. Alexei would look totally badass.
  10. Yeah, I got the original lineup off of Merkin's blog. Totally awesome to see my man BA in the lineup.
  11. OC, SS; AJ, C; Q, LF; PK, 1B; Thome, DH; Dye, RF; Swish, CF; Crede, 3B; Uribe, 2B. Floyd pitching.
  12. So, the estimate for Cedar Rapids $736 million in damage. Also, 30 is shut down, so don't try that. You can go to the state's 511 website to get road updates.
  13. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) they aren't just people, they are Islamic fascists that pose a threat to national security. I'm sorry, but anyone in favor of this ruling, including those 5 nutjob judges, is a goofball. I don't see why religion had to be brought up. Not just Muslims are threats to national security.
  14. Cedar Rapids very close to losing water.
  15. Cedar River @ CR to crest at 32 feet tomorrow morning, 20 feet above flood stage, 12 above the record. It's a bit disconcerting to see whitecaps on cornfields. CR now under a Thunderstorm warning. Hail now in SW CR.
  16. New level at CR: 28.5 feet, forecast unavailable, but expected to go up another 2-3 feet. Old record: 20' Flood Stage: 12' So basically, it's up about 20 feet. Now, KCRG is saying they may have to evacuate. For those unaware, that used to be an island with a building in the middle.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) I sure as heck hope that most of these folks have flood insurance. Well, the water is stretching out past the 500 year flood plain in CR....so at this point, I'd be a little surprised.
  18. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) soo.... is this good or bad for me that I am considering moving to the IC area next summer? lol There may not be much of Iowa City left if water keeps rising. They also just told a story about how they were letting no one back into downtown CR, but they took a man in so he could get his son's ashes before his house went under.
  19. KCRG is reporting that Iowa City could crest at 38 feet, 16 feet above flood stage and 11.5 feet above the 1993 record.
  20. Forecast for Iowa city bumped up 2.5 feet to 33 feet, 11 feet above flood stage. That'd also be more than 20 feet above normal. Add in the 7+ inches of rain last night in south central Minnesota and north central Iowa, and I'd expect the forecasts to keep going up. That and CR is expected to get another 1-4 inches of rain tonight. A possibility of up to 6 inches tonight in parts of eastern Iowa.
  21. An ISU message board. I380 is actually open with one lane in each direction.
