  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) I have now had fifteen Budweisers, and I can type coherently. I drank tonight for two reasons. I have Monday (St. Patrick's Day off), and I also wanted to post on Soxtalk to show that it is indeed possible to type while being quite drunk. I understand that this makes me both a drunk and an internet geek, but I'm fine with that. Yeah, but my opinion of you has been negatively affected, so you should still feel some amount of shame.

  3. Man arrested and charged in Willow Hall incident at ISU AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University Police have arrested and charged Jawon R. Jackson, age 20, of Aurora, Ill., with going armed with intent (a Class D felony), carrying a weapon on school grounds (a Class D felony) and first degree harassment (an aggravated misdemeanor) in connection with an early morning incident at Willow Hall today (Sunday, March 16). ISU Police received a call at 12:55 a.m. today reporting a man with a gun on the sixth floor of Willow Hall, a student residence on the east side of the Iowa State campus. Upon receiving the report of an armed individual in Willow Hall, Iowa State officials activated the ISU Alert system, which sends emergency messages to students, faculty and staff via phone, text messages and e-mail. Approximately 30 students were in Willow Hall at the time of the incident. Most Iowa State students are away on spring break. Willow Hall residents were asked to stay in their rooms. At 2:20 a.m., they were advised it was safe to resume normal activities. Jackson was located in a Willow Hall room within approximately one hour of the call to police. No gun has been found at this time. Jackson's arrest is based on multiple witness statements. The charges filed in this case are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. Jackson was transported to the Story County Justice Center in Nevada and is being held pending further court action. Jackson is not an ISU student.
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) There was an article last month in Reader's Digest on college campus security and Iowa State was in the bottom 10, IIRC. Easily. If anyone wanted to do anything there, I can't imagine it'd be too difficult. Though, I don't know why anyone would want to. It's seriously a laid back place.
  5. I believe within the last year they became armed.

  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Is Iowa State going to make the CBI? I don't really know anything about it. Nope.
  8. I am captain of this little journey. Since I don't know anything about postseason basketball, I'll take the reins on this one.
  9. On an ISU message board, one of the Cyclone football players had this to say... "There is no shooter just some other drunk black guy in lov saying he had a gun"
  10. Good news, they found the guy like at 2 last night.
  11. I'm at home but I just got the text. Apparently a guy is in Willow with a gun. We are on break so not a lot of people are in danger. I used to live there though...
  12. Willow Hall, one of the residence halls.
  13. ISU Alert just issued.

  16. Someone try to tell me that this and the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament aren't the best time in sports.
