GAME THREAD - 3/11/08, SOX @ TEX
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) OK, let me rephrase this, I agree that BA is a no-brainer choice for CF at that point, I mean have the Sox discussed this at all publicly. I know you can't go off of what happens in ST, but BA was playing LF while Swisher was in CF. That was a head scratcher for me, even if it is ST I took that as more of a chance to assess his ability in a backup situation.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) If Anderson continues on this roll and makes the team, do they put Swisher in LF and Anderson in CF? Would that be their best defensive option at that point? Yes, and it's not even close.

GAME THREAD - 3/11/08, SOX @ TEX
Anderson has to make this team as of right now. I hate to say this, but if Owens stays hurt and starts the season on the DL, it might be for the best.

QUOTE(gbuk @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) Wait, so one sub-par game by Beasley and he's not the POY anymore? Both Beasley and Walker whine a lot, mainly Walker. Walker being a total headcase is exactly why he's the erratic player he is. One missed shot and his whole night can be ruined, it's pretty laughable. Nah, I still think he is, but any NPOY should handle a s***ty ISU team better than he did. Walker is a f***tard.

Big 12 Tournament
So, I'd love to send the f***ing Aggies to the NIT. A loss to Iowa State would do that. Speaking of which, Jimbo, maybe we should just beat KSU too so we can finally beat you guys.....I can dream....

Official Recruiting Thread II
QUOTE(JuiceCruz16 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) IU is losing another recruit. 4 star guard Terrell Holloway announces that he is getting out of his letter of intent. He said it should be official today, but he will be free and clear of it by the end of the week at the latest. He should totally become a Cyclone.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) Speaking of which, Tyler was apparently named Sporting News POY along with SI's POY. Congrats Tyler. I would have completely argued Beasley before he was shut down by Iowa State today. Couple of things happened today. Beasley was whining quite a bit. ISU was able to deny him the ball a lot. At the end of the game, he got lost on the way to the locker room. Bill Walker was a little b****. A couple of calls didn't go his way, and he just started jawing. Some KSU manager gave him a stool during a timeout and he just threw it out of the way. He's trash. The crowd got really quiet when I yelled "f*** you bill walker", but I wasn't the only one to do so. Part of me hopes he would stick around just to mess things up in Manhattan.

CREDE CREDE CREDE
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 11:54 PM) Imagine in 2 years and baseball experts are sitting around a table talking about their favorite players from 2000-2010. They get to the subject of who the best player was at the hot corner (thats 3B for all you kids out there). Everyone goes around the table and mentions their favorites for the best, then some guy says "Joe Crede". What kind of reaction do you think that would get? They'd tell Hawk to pipe down.

So Brian Anderson's hitting...
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) What puzzles me is why so many are so quick to say Owens sucks, Anderson sucks or Quentin is the guy. It would be great for all 3 to become bonafide major leaguers so it becomes extremely difficult for management to make a decision on who starts. Owens , in my rose colored eyes, seems to be capable of becoming a .300+ hitter , .340+ OBP and with the extra 10 lbs. maybe 30-35 doubles and 50+ steals. Quentin had great minors numbers but seems to be a guy who crowds the plate and gets hurt because of it. Certainly he has the most potential , already being a superior defender, but doesnt seem to be at 100% physically. Anderson is deserving of another chance and seems to be getting it. It'll all play out on the field and its fun watching the competition. I would say Anderson is the superior defender over Quentin, but I have yet to see him play at all.

Nick Swisher
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) I like Swisher and think he is a good player, but I really don't think his production next year will help us a whole lot. You're right, our offense doesn't need the help.

So Brian Anderson's hitting...
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:47 AM) He's pulled this "I can hit in spring training" charade before. He really doesnt have much of a spot in this OF. He should be in AAA where he can come up when Dye gets hurt. If he can carry it over, he's a heck of a backup option.
