Wow, a lot of news agencies have been really tentative about projections, and it looks like Reuters and others are going to be wrong about Mizzou, unless Clinton gets a late boost.

What's the deal with New Mexico? There's no results on CNN.com.....and I was interested to see what would go down there...
  6. Heads22 replied to kapkomet's topic in The Filibuster
Obama within 9,000 votes in Mizzou with 91%. Wow. I can see why they didn't project.
  7. Heads22 replied to kapkomet's topic in The Filibuster
Wow, Mizzourah is close, but I don't think there's enough votes left for him. Mizzou within 3.

CNN.com's early exit polling looks pretty favorable for Hilldog in CA.

Cnn.com's exit polls look favorable for Obama in New Mexico and Utah, but their data looks like it was just put in by some intern.
  10. We are such a bad team without Wesley Johnson. I hope he's back tonight, I thought we had an honest chance at aTm.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Something to keep an eye on today... So far, the three states that have been contested in the Dem race are Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. What do they have in common? Geographically homogenous populations. No huge cities, no great divides between regions of the state. What that meant was, early returns were fairly indicative of the state as a whole. Today? Won't be true. California is so huge and so diverse that you won't have a great feel for it until most of the results are in. States like IL, CO, NM and NY have populations that have heavily liberal urban centers and more conservative areas outside of them. So, when you see a state reporting 10% or 20%, check the areas counted, and take it with a grain of salt. As far as Iowa goes, wouldn't you more or less tend to say that the western part of the state is a LOT more conservative than the eastern parts....

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) I'm on a college diet. Basically, I've been eating ridiculously healthy for a while now but since I got back to school alcohol has been seriously added to that, but oh well, that's how it has to be. I'm in decent shape but I'm trying to get into really good shape so I can get back to playing basketball at a high level(sounds lame but it's the truth). Anyone got recommendations on good dinner foods besides fish and chicken? Because I'm really starting to get tired of fish and chicken. Have you tried said foods in nugget form?

My weight has been about 127.5 ± 5. Walking everywhere and whatnot during the school year seems to keep my weight down. I refuse to take the bus, and I don't drive unless I have to.
  14. Gotta imagine Hawk might get a statue....
  15. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 11:51 AM) The troops flat out don't give a f*** if a team wears camouflage or not. It's a dumb, empty gesture that makes the players look like idiots. How can they look like idiots if you can't see them?
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:02 AM) Personally I am sick of the whole gradeschool game of leapfrog when it comes to the primaries. I am about ready to say screw everybody and just have a national primary day. The only ones who really lose are Iowa and New Hampshire, which are two of the least representative states in the nation anway. Yeah, but at least we were smart enough to vote Hilldog third.

Jesus Christ. If Obama is really leading in Massachusetts that's pretty damn monumental.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) I'm starting to fall for coach Lick at Iowa. The guy is getting guys that did s*** under Alford to actually do something. Hell, had they had Freeman all season they may have a few more wins. They are a horrid team (talent wise) yet they damn near beat Purdue and just beat Ohio State and continue to get better and better. A decent recruiting class is coming next season (with more shooters, which fits into his style) and if they can take advantage of that he may be able to turn Iowa into a respectable college bball program (one that consistently wins, which is something they have been in the past). In fact, in time they could even become more than that...but I'll go with baby steps and some hope of a potential NCAA tourney next year. Told you that you had the best men's coach in the state. ISU lost to a very s***ty Nebraska team, albeit without our best player, but we've not done s*** in 1.5 years, and you've already beat a couple of pretty decent teams.

It's 24 and freakin' balmy here.
  22. If Buehrle honestly did ask for them, which I doubt, then I'm cool with it. In fact, that was probably the f***ing sticking point in the extension talks.
  23. Continuing my 2008 Big 12 Magical Mystery Tour, tomorrow I will be in Lincoln.

I got as fed up with Pods as everyone the last couple of years, but it's borderline retarded to say that he didn't have a big effect on that 2005 team. That is not a scientific analysis. Year Record when Podsednik Starts Record when Podsednik doesn't Start Sox Winning % increase when Pods starts (%) 2005 80-44 19-19 29 2006 75-46 15-26 69 2007 31-25 41-65 43 It seems as though in the years you were fed up with Podsednik, he had a greater impact on our win total (using your method) than he did in 2005. We should get him back from the Rockies and start him no matter what, we would probably take the division. It's just something I borrowed from SoxMachine. I still stand by my statement that Pods had a tremendous effect on that team.
