  1. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 5, 2008 -> 06:03 PM) key word, I said good. John Sickels and ZIPS have high opinions of Egbert, and I'm guessing KW does too.
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 5, 2008 -> 05:55 PM) Brian Anderson, might be the best defensive replacement in all of the minor leagues right now. LOL.
  3. Broadway was trying to refine a two-seamer in Charlotte this year, I believe.
  4. Zaviar would be a hell of a get to take away from Mizzou.
  5. To be fair, Marshall was never a big time prospect.
  6. Crede was clutch, man. That and there wasn't a Rally Garcia. Nor a Rally Konerko. Nary a Rally Dye. Never a Rally Garland.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) Anderson has less trade value. Either way, I thought he'd be gone by now. Definitely not Sweeney.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) Like Jeremy Reed? No matter how good or bad Sweeney becomes, he was never going to get a chance here. Like Brian Anderson won't. LOL, strange that he's still here and Ryan isn't.
  9. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) yeah I was listening to it even though I really dont like the score right at 1 they did play the clip it was just him saying how the acquisition of Swisher would benefit this team .. obviously something expected out of him. and this is also my first post, glad I finally got validated and good to finally be on the site go sox Yeah, the board is dumb about auto validation some of the accounts, but I went thru and took care of a bunch. Welcome aboard!
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) He is. He has proven he is an average hitter at best who plays good D. Everyone in baseball sees he is an average player except many sox fans for some reason. If you were one of the main reasons the White Sox won a World Series, any World Series, fans would be willing to love you a lot too.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) Much better.... He looks cuddly.
  12. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Ryan Sweeney will tear it up in Oakland, you can bank on that. Yeah, it's not like that park will further hurt his power potential or anything. Maybe the won't try to stick him out of position there. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) This is just wrong... Yeah, I told him to lose the necklace a long time ago.
  13. I honestly think Gio will be the only useful piece Oakland gets in this deal. Only real starter material.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) welcome to 2008...yes we can.....Ill send you an orange. You should be sending me a cotton ball. I hope we beat the s*** out of you guys to open up the conf season next year.
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) Is Iowa State still in the Big 12 North??? I'm not sure Kansas football fans are allowed to talk smack to anyone else in the Big 12.
  16. So suddenly the Big 12 North isn't the cripple fight it was a couple years ago.
  17. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) word is he takes great angles to the ball and has a very good arm. he's definently doable in CF. especially for a team without a CF to start. that is considering owens is a 4th OFer and nothing more. I wish Owens could play more than one position passably. He wouldn't be a defensive replacement late in the game in CF...but he''s a great option as a pinch runner and as an occasional starter in LF.
  18. Mark will probably dance with him.
  19. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Nice guy like Haggard, Pat Robertson, or any of the other evangelical/ultra religious leaders I guess. I suppose they are very popular in Iowa. It's kinda funny how, before Huckabee, Democrats claimed these religious types were all homophobic bigots. Now that an unelectable preacher guy wins Iowa GOP primary, he's a nice guy. Go figure. Heh, I've said I think the guy is nice ever since he was on the Daily Show. The most important part of tonight is that a White Sox fan won the caucus.
  20. I remember saying earlier this summer that I enjoy watching a guy that looks like he's having fun playing baseball. That's Swish. I love this trade.
  21. Also, FWIW, it's generally the more populated ares of Iowa that are still outstanding on the Democratic side.
  22. These exit polls are really interesting. Married people went to Clinton, single to Obama. Democrats went to Obama, not to anyone else as was maybe thought. Any independents and republicans were strongly Obama. Previous caucus goers? 43% yes (went to Edwards). 57% no (strongly Obama). http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries...ndex.html#IADEM
  23. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) It's great that people in Iowa can look past race while casting a vote. It's very disturbing that people in Iowa REALLY like Mike Huckabee. He's a nice guy, Iowans fall for nice guys. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) It also says something about America that an African American now has a solid chance at the Presidency. No, mainly Iowa.
  24. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) I'd call shotgun but I am already abroad the Broadway Bus. Can I ride in the Egbert sidecar? He might not even be a prospect this year with a legit shot at the team.
  25. I do think it says something for our state that a black man is winning the way that Obama is.
