Not a bad win over Albany. I partied with the Great Danes after the game. Wes Johnson is good.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2007 -> 04:34 PM) Brady, Seau, Troy Brown, Bruschi are just a few of the complete class acts that have been inovlved in the Patriots organization. You can say what you want about the coach but lets not act like the team is full of a bunch of thugs or pricks that play the game, the Pats have tons of classy players/individuals and they have busted there ass to get to this point and deserve all the credit as well. The Colts are a class organization, no doubting that, but I'm not going to let spygate tell me that the Pats aren't a quality organization as well. There's a woman or two that would debate Seau's classiness.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 29, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) Heads, I saw that post of yours trying to diminish what Brady's done. There's a huge difference between the team Manning had and the team Brady has. New England is simply designed to throw, even short. That, more than some desperation for the record, is the difference in pass attempts. New England is a better franchise. Bill Belichick is almost undeniably a greater coach. Tom Brady is his generation's Montana; Manning is Marino. I know who I prefer. To each their own I guess. I prefer a class organization that still wins all of the time. Throw in the fact that the Colts had a bevy of injuries against NE and for much of the season, and I still think it's anyone's game when they meet up in Foxboro. Manning still had his 49 in 15 games, which Brady did not, but Tom can keep the record. I'd still rather have Peyton and we have just as good of a shot to upset the Patriots as anyone. It should make a difference with Harrison, Sanders and Gonzalez back.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 27, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) Quick thought here... how does this effect the upcoming Iowa Caucus? For the Dems, this would seem to play into Obama's previous statements of worry about Pakistan. But, typically, this sort of international instability tends to favor experienced candidates. Then there is a third factor - and to be clear, I am not saying this is right at all, just that it simply is - a portion of the population will be hesitant to trust a female candidate to be "tough". Overall, I'd say these events might slightly help Obama, but not by much. For the GOP, Giuliani is the biggest anti-terror candidate in terms of his marketing. But, he's a mayor - and has basically zero experience on a national or international level. Huckabee is popular, I think, as a domestic profile guy - so this might hurt him. People would be wary of the unpolished Huckabee leading the country in this sort of scenario. Romney? Not sure. McCain, this probably helps more than any other candidate. I guarantee you that a large chunk of Iowa has no idea who Bhutto is and why she matters. Of course, these people are also least likely to caucus.- DEM Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 27, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) I think you are missing something here, about the dynamics of the Iowa population. College kids are transient, and are often not polled because their primary address may be on campus (where the pollsters won't call), or be elsewhere but they won't be at home to get it (because they are at school). What that means is, the polls that show Obama and Clinton in a virtual dead heat (or maybe a slight lead for Obama) are ALREADY missing the youth voters. And at least some of them WILL vote, even though they weren't likely to be polled. So actually, even if only a small number of those college kids vote, that is still a small number that isn't even yet reflected that will probably be heavily for Obama. I am aforementioned transient. I have no idea how many people plan to caucus from down yonder in Ames, but Obama is the only candidate with buzz down there. Students didn't go out of their way to see Clinton when she was in town, but I was with a few thousand over the noon hour at Central Campus for Obama. It'll hurt Obama some that caucuses won't happen when classes are in session. I'll let you guys know about the experience at the caucus here at home. On a side note, its interesting to see just how many people like Richardson the best, but don't think he has any shot. Most of those people that I have talked to are leaning towards Obama. I agree with Reddy to an extent though, that the overall laziness of college students will hurt Obama.- Catch-All Anything Thread
