  1. It's also really strange to say, but the Colts D was as responsible for the Colts winning it all as anything. Everyone thought coming into the year that Manning would just have to pass the f*** out of the ball to win, but the Colts run game and defense carried them.
  2. QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) Classy Organization? I guess when you win a super bowl, you kind of forget that the same organization packed up and moved to a new town in the middle of the night. Because you can judge the current team based on Irsay's father.
  3. It's a balmy -1 here. It was -13 Sunday morning. Our windchills were around -40 a couple days back, so the fact that they're holding above -10 is great, I suppose.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Enjoy it, if anyone had to beat the Bears I'm glad it was the Colts. I couldn't watch any of the post game because well it hurt pretty damn bad but I did enjoy seeing Manning celebrate. Likewise, I was not going to be totally destroyed if the Bears won because I've come to respect them, especially with Lovie at the helm.

  10. The game isn't on in eastern Iowa if you have cable.
  11. Super Bowl Sunday night should be fun.
  12. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) That's probably the worst place to take an impression from of a politician, I think. I like Huckabee (a lot, and for awhile) and Hagel from the Right as legitimate candidates to win the Presidency. Brownback's a good longshot. Giuliani would be an idiot to run and would never leave the primaries; McCain is going to be decimated in either the primaries or the general, but he'll be decimated. I'm not really impressed by any of them, though. You're right. God forbid a candidate come across like a real person.
  13. Huckabee REALLY impressed me on the Daily Show.
  14. Hitters: Grady Sizemore David Wright Pitchers: Scott Kazmir Brandon Webb Roy Halladay
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) I wouldn't expect those numbers are the major league level, but I'd compare him a bit to Carlos Lee, who was a surprisingly good base stealer. He's not going to steal or run consistently but the second a pitcher stops paying attention he is more than capable of going and nabbing 2nd. Shines helped him a ton with that last year and I'm really glad Shines will be with the big club this year because I think he's going to bring a unique perspective and attitude to the coaching staff. Blooper real? Dye is good in RF, Erstad or Anderson (that is because I don't think Erstad plays CF much unless he proves he is healthy are good in CF) and Fields can't be worse than Pods in LF (especially since Fields could actually be capable of throwing someone out). I was talking Fields/LF and Erstad/CF, mainly. I know you watch LAA a lot, but is Erstad any better than average anymore?
  16. The Jason Gage Power Hour Otherwise known as Soxtalk On the Air.
  17. For anyone that watched the AAA All-Star game last year, or saw the Futures game.....the thing about Josh is he swings hard and misses...quite a bit. However, when he makes contact, it's a rocket quite a bit of the time. He's going to struggle, but I think he'd hit better than BA did in the first half if brought up right now.
  18. I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) Fields has a perfectly good arm and is a good enough athlete to be a more than solid left fielder. Obviously there would be an adjustment period but if Fields starts in LF I think that makes it more likely you have Erstad getting substantial playing time in CF (since I think Ozzie would want Erstad near the top of the order along with Igucih). I know one thing, like last year, we may have absolute crap at the leadoff spot. Our OF defense would be a blooper reel. To be fair, though, I suggested this on a podcast last year before everyone else talked about it, so there.
  20. I'd rather MacDougal just didn't get hurt. Last year was the first time I really got to watch him work, and, damn, is he sick.
  21. It's gonna be a while before the Valley gets a Final Four team, or another midmajor conference does the same. I was pulling for GM last year, but I really just think that was a freak occurance. The Valley teams are really hit or miss at times. It's going to take a team that is stunningly good for it to happen.
  22. Why does everyone hate Broadway? He's already in consideration for the fifth spot.
  23. I suppose since Johnson had just two stars attached to his name, he can't be talented. Let's just forget the fact that he's 6-8 with guard skills and a 41 vertical. And the fact that he has ten double-doubles already. And he's still growing. He was 6-5 last year.
  24. Which would you rather have? Player A: 8.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.4 apg, 20.0 mpg, 51.2% fg Player B: 12.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 1.1 apg, 31.6 mpg, 45.1% fg
  25. Wesley Johnson is the best freshman in the Big 12. Not named Kevin Durant, that is.
