8/25 Game Thread Sox vs. Twins
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) I don't blame you. There's some people who honestly think that no ball has ever landed in CF when Anderson is out there. He's been very good on defense this season, but he can only get to so much. LIAR

We survived the storms of '06
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Well we are now pushing 48 hours and still no power. Our block literally is an electric free oasis... We just threw out a freezer, refridgerator, and most of a deep freezers worth of food It's a time of citywide crisis and yet you still find a way to fit in Soxtalk.

The Good News and the Bad News
David Ortiz hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat. That'll throw some sand in their eyes, for sure.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) SnB, let's just say I tried to use your bar methods tonight (see my post in the Rant or Rave thread). And let's just say it ended up with 2 co-workers pashing and kissing hot chicks, and me well dancing and trying to pick up what as left on offer (and yes I am majorly pissed (or drunk as you Yanks call it) right now. We are very likely the only Sox website around with a drunk Aussie right now.

8/24 Games
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:04 PM) Tis true, I knew who he was but you pointed out he was doing good. I'm falling behind right now though since I was out of town a ton the past month or didn't have internet access cause I'm lost on how some of the minor leaguers are doing. Check out new player profiles on MILB.com. They're keeping splits now.

Garland's ERA revisited
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) I don't even get to that point, I just pencil it in as a loss. I didn't when we had pre-injury Jose, or non-sucky Jon. The Twins offense still doesn't scare me, namely because it's just a lot of guys who forgot they weren't very good. It's be optimal if we could get up like 7-0 early in the first game. Setting the tone in game one would do wonders.

Gage - I was the first one to tell you about Eggy. I also agree with you RE: Cotts.

Garland's ERA revisited
Johan in my book. There's no other pitcher in baseball that I feel if we get down 1-0 with, we're likely gonna lose.

Two-A-Days
From the parts I saw, there was a roughly 25 year old high schooler about to get a hummer. -- The last thing that high school football needs is MTV. I hate that network so much.

Open practice for ISU yesterday: Bret Meyer: "Don't go to class on Thursday. Practice tailgating tonight and then don't go to class. Tailgate all day." DeAndre Jackson: "We gonna get crunk and kick some ass." Oh, you. Six days.

Garland's ERA revisited
It makes sense that Jon is doing the best. His problems, unlike guys like Freddy and Jose, aren't inury-related or a loss of stuff. It was his control/lack of pitching where he did last year. He's the same pitcher as last year. It just took him a while to get back on track. I have no problems with him starting game one of any playoff series. His ERA is not representative of what he's become. He's our ace.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) I didn't realize his meltdown innings have been that bad. I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher suffer that many problems in one inning and it just makes you shake your head and wonder. He reminds me of the old Jose in some respects. A guy gets on and then all falls to s***.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) ^^^^^^^^ How about "one of the few who fell in love with him last year and stuck with him ever since"?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) I thought he'd get up to .230, but I thought that wouldn't happen until right around the end of the season. For him to get it all the way where it is now is amazing, hopefully he can crack .240 or even .250 by the time the season ends. I was gonna be happy if he got above .225. As the original BA supporter, I feel like I'm the only one who can criticize sometimes.
