AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
So who thought when Brian was hitting roughly .150 in May his average would rise 80 points in 3 months.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
BA needs to be careful or he could be hitting .240 by the end of the year.
-
Thornton's master plan...
He'll need to find a pitch or two.

Chris Young Called Up
Young's a DBack. This can go to Diamond Club.

8/22 Games
Wait, does Ricks think he's a prospect again?

the bottom line
They looked like corpses last year at times too.....
-
the bottom line
Could it be they want it just as much and are playing just as hard, but they just aren't as good (pitching)? Nah, they must not be trying.

"Crash" Rowand Breaks Ankle
Rowand would be an awesome LF.....but I seriously doubt he gets traded back.

Who will get the call?
Jerry Owens isn't half the fielder BA is. He'll also never hit for power, gets thrown out way too much for that speed, is mediocre in LF and has a noodle arm. We've already got a guy like that.

Who will get the call?
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) sweeney and Fields won't be here. they're going to venezuela in late september with Charlotte manager Razor Shines for spring training before the season begins. Fields will be working on playing left field and Shines has been told to play Sweeney in centerfield. Draw your own conclusions. Logan WILL be here. Owens will be here to pinch run. Tracey will probably be here, but he won't be of much help except in blowouts. Stewart might be here, but my sense is that Razor Shines, actually likes Molina better than Stewart. Says they are similar as catchers and that Molina will hit better. Phillips won't be here. I agree with most of that. I doubt they'd start any clock on Sweeney. Same with Fields. As far as Ryan in CF, the organization is still committed to Anderson, as he's been a decent major leaguer since July. I just think they'd like versatility out of him, knowing he can play any OF position. His value just goes up that much more.

Figured I'd get this up early with Broadway's debut in Charlotte.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) He was and will never be the best player in any team. But he had a contagious attitude that far outshined his athletic shortcomings. All that "Grinder Rule #--" crap doesn't apply anymore. The Sox of 2006 resemble more the Yankees of 1998, business-like, apathetic. There is no fire in this team as I could CLEARLY see last year. The HUNGER does not show in their play, and Rowand would not have put up with that. Your name makes me think of Chad Gaudin which is strange.... I never questioned the hustle or heart Aaron had. Some fans just have some players that they aren't as big of fans of. ARow was one of those players for me. And it's the pitching. That's the entire difference from last year. We didn't lose anything from Rowand to Anderson on D this year, and the offense doesn't make a difference. We're not winning games that our pitching should. But everyone knows this.

Sox @ Detroit
I was told to conserve my powers....well...they could make a difference now.

We need some good Heads vibes. We also need the last 3 games.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) I agree with this, and I've been someone who's sick of hearing how much we miss him. I loved how he played, but I felt his defense (or at least his range) was overrated. That and I always thought someone could strike him out if they just pitched him low and away. He was just never my favorite.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) I think he'd be the perfect third outfielder for this team. But this has been argued so much I'm glad you put it in there cause people got mad last time I suggested this. I'd take him in left. And I've always been one of his lesser fans.

Broadway to Charlotte
This was mentioned in another thread, but Broadway is now in Charlotte. Let's see how he can handle the Castle.
