  1. Buehrle's problem isn't pitch speed. He's never thrown it fast. The problem is he is leaving pitches up and his control is off.
  2. Rally Crede Rules He brought us a World Series You all should bow down
  3. Garland's our best pitcher right now, IMO. IIRC, his ERA is hovering around two this month.

QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) This is sad and lame. Jesus Christ, we're trying to have some fun. Skidaddle.

You may get it tomorrow, depending on if I work or not. The paper hasn't contacted me yet. It takes a chunk of my night to transfer over the aspects of the old skin CSS that i want and not messing up the new CSS. I can handle it, but you're gonna need to tell me what changes you want if any. Also, you can handle some of the sutff yourself, I assume, namely replacing the buttons.
  6. Can't we get rid of shoota for 10 days anyways? I kid because I care.
  7. Need to start interviewing the Soxtalk podcast team to fill in.
  8. Burton is on fire.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) I'm in a similar boat as you when it comes to BA. It's funny because I never thought that highly of him when he was a prospect, he always put up solid numbers in the minors but nothing spectacular along with some nice tools but nothing eye popping there either. Whenever I saw footage of him hitting, especially in Spring Training his swing always looked drawn out and incredibly long, similar to Crede's back when he sucked so I never thought much of him in terms of an offensive threat either. But damnit that son of a gun has grown on me, all through his struggles he stayed so concentrated and never seemed flustered, he'd do interviews and instead of being nervous as hell just rallying of sports speak he would joke about how he sucked and such, he and Bmac are probably two of the better interviews on this team (with AJ being the best). His defense has been f***ing crazy good which really shocked me, I knew he was going to be pretty good out there but nothing like this. Also he's managed to shorten his damn swing and is absolutely crushing the ball over the past month+ which shows to me that he's serious about being the best player possible and is willing to make adjustments if necessary. The guy is just real similar to Rowand in terms of his ability to attach himself to a fan base, one of coolest things I've ever seen from an athlete in this city was Row appearing on the JHood show night after night for like an hour each day to just bulls*** with him and the fans about baseball, the Bears and anything else people would bring up. Anderson just seems very similar in his personality. In other words, I'm a fan. The fact that he's willing to punch John Mabry in the face when his catcher was slugged in the grill.......I think that's the main reason a lot of fans are giving him a lot of slack. For a guy that was hitting below .200.....seems like, well, normally, a lot of people would have wanted that guy gone. I remember when he was drafted and he's one of the first guys since I've followed the draft come through. And it's awesome to see him succeed.
  11. I'd have more respect for that sign if he would have dotted the i's with smiley faces.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Crede is soooo 2005. It's Anderson's turn. BA is my Joe Crede. I'm so much behind the guy, because it's the first guy I've been able to follow from the beginning for the Sox since I became a hardcore fan.

Their pitching has been off lately.
  14. Jeez, Flash, we'd still be in the wild card race. :rolly
  15. I'd love him, but again, why would the Mets deal him?

    QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) It got old awhile ago. Jesus, it's a joke.
  17. Changed the title slightly.
  18. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) It was in the Fabio Castro thread talking about whether he was hidden on the DL. Touche.
  19. Where was it posted? I am slow, but Jas, you ain't one to talk I found out in an Around the Minors podcast.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) Our team has had time off. This is the first series off of the allstar break. Dye and Konerko only played a few innings so they cant be tired. None of our regulars should be tired. There is a day off tomorrow. Konerko is still battling a stomach virus. Hopefully that's gone by Tuesday, but it might not be.
  21. Mack would be much better suited to spell Dye, IMO. I'd be willing to stomach Thome at first for a game, DH'ing Rob or Alex as well.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 05:27 PM) But either dealing Garcia or putting his tired arm on the DL can. Maybe the Rally Crede can help us with that. Ozzie needs to start his A team against the Tiggers this series. No resting of any f***ing starters unless they are on the verge of death. No f***ing Widger because X pitcher is a lefty. No Cintron because I want to give Gooch a rest. No Mack because we need a more lefty based lineup. You want to pinch hit late in the game to get a matchup, go for it. You start any of those, or more to the point large numbers of those on the silly idea of getting guys fresh then how about a no. Yup. We have an off day tomorrow. People are gonna be rested. Podsednik Iguchi Thome Konerko Dye Pierzynski Crede Uribe Anderson We better f***ing see that announced as the starting lineup, all three games.
  23. Even the Rally Crede can't help a Freddy Garcia 86 MPH fastball.
