  1. If both Fields and Crede keep hitting, that's a hella nice problem to have. I'm still thinking move him to left.

On a side note, last I checked, his listed weight was at 280 on WhiteSox.com, up from 275 last year. I realize that's part of his "charm", but if he comes in overweight (relatively) again next year, it'll be an even bigger problem.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) This was the series that had the lowest pre-sales for the entire season. However, I'm pretty sure that the pre-sales for this series were still higher than the pre-sales for last season's opening series vs the Indians. What about a 3-4-5 of Sweeney, Sanders and Mientciewicz doesn't bring more fans out to the ballpark?
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) By walking to first base. I don't know...I'm gonna guess he probably f***ed that up....somehow.
  5. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Any trade value Anderson had is long gone... sad really... Just STFU. You don't like Brian. We don't really care anymore.
  6. Anderson with at least a single here....book it.
  7. I'm pretty sure Boone Logan could go two innings every night. I mean, really, he's a legend.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Sort of like John did with Ed, he gives over the PBP for an inning. I'm not familiar with this scenario, but my ears did stop bleeding.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Rooney really did a great job of keeping him under control. Farmer in the captin chair= :uhoh I wasn't paying much attention, but did they just decide to try Singleton as PBP? He's not too bad....although he reminds me of Gage.
  10. OK....listening to an inning of WSCR....Farmer bothers me a lot more than Chris.
  11. Singleton doesn't sound too bad on PBP.
  12. Cool stuff. It's always neat when high ups like that show enthusiasm.
  13. What you guys just brought up was one of the things that I was wondering when Farmer to PBP was announced. Color to PBP wouldn't seem like a real natural transition from waht I've heard of Farmer.

I still use my Mizuno from little league. Doesn't fit, but I don't have the heart to get a new one. Or I'm lazy.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) Just consider this your contribution to reduction of fossil fuel consumptions... And did I mention it is sunny and 65 on a beautiful spring day in Chicago? The tulips are in full bloom, as are the daffodils... Ah yes payback for all of the how beautiful in Texas posts I love it. Everything is getting green and I can see why this place was declared one of the most beautiful campuses in America.
  16. Cory Johnson will make them sorry he's no longer on the list.
  17. Well, as of right now, Broadway and Fields have both been freakin dynamite so far. Broadway=> 2-0, 2.00, 18 IP, 13 H, 3 BB, 18 K Fields=>.319/.353/.489 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 SB in 27 AB. Still, 3 BB, 16 K. Looks like their walk and strikeout numbers might be close this year.
  18. OK....I thought about this walking back from class today. Kinda on this subject. With Crede heating up......if he could hit .280 with 20 hr and 65 RBI with Gold Glove defense...do we try to ink him to a long term deal (relatively) and if so, what could we do with Fields? Would the Carlos Lee move be an option with a shift to left for Josh? Just brainstorming here.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) s***, I should go back and dig out some of the threads from 2003 about the most beloved player and see what people have to say for themselves today. I swear everyday someone was ripping Rowand. And let's not even TOUCH Neal Cotts.
  20. Keep in mind, too, this was done before the season.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) Ok... just to clarify a slump buster is banging the ugliest, fattest chick you could find right? Care of UrbanDictionary.com:
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Can't we just do a SoxTalk one? It seems as though anyone who wants to go from SoxTalk is forced to be among the mass WSI posters. I'm sure there would be a better turnout. With a turnout of 80 or so between 3, there'd be no use trying to get it.
  23. The BA stuff is getting beyond old. We know he's struggling. Why say it every single day?
