QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) Clean kills. Good for you. The deer will try not to let you suffer when they turn the tables. The thing is, they don't know that I live comfortably in the city. A LONG ways away. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Nice. Still haven't killed a buck but I got my 1st doe last year with the 7 MM. Dropped dead on it's tracks with a double lung shot. Hmmm, none of us hunt with anything other than muzzleloaders and 12s and 20s.

That 12 is the exact one I just got, except with a B square scope, I think. I haven't actually seen it yet, it's a present from my dad and uncle. The 20 was two for two, including a doe my first year and an 8 pt buck my second year. Seemed to do the job. And then some. I shot the first in the bottom of the heart and I got the second in the heart and liver. Both went less than 50 yards and I watched them fall.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Haha. We are very organized and we plan on putting out an issue every 4 weeks, that is our goal. I just finished my HW too. I read a chapter in our book about basic journalism jargon and how to apply your article to the audience, and learned about newsbriefs, etc. very cool class. BTW: Clusterf***......YES! We usually put one out every 3 weeks but we squeezed one in every two at times last year. How long is yours? Ours was a typical twelve page format: 1: Front, main news story, teaser, what's inside 2: news stories, ads, editors notes 3: news stories, ads 4: sports, ads 5: sports, ads 6: feature idea, such as study habits, homework loads, included surveys 7: other side of feature 8: opinion.....poll and 8 students questioned on a topic, plus opinion column 9: opinion, more opinion columns 10: entertainment 11: special, such as an election feature 12: candid photos with a theme We would have to have the paper sent electronically by Tuesday of week 3 for publication on Friday on week 3, as the local newspaper printed it. Our staff was, for all basic purposes, 12-16 kids, including editors. Our adviser also said last year, my senior year, was the least work she's ever had, so my co editor and I took real pride in that.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) Yessir. I'm going to Michigan on Spetmeber 24th and 25th for the youth hunt...looking to bag a velvet buck with my .270! If they haven't shed their velvet yet. Then, the week of Thanksgiving, I will be back in Michigan for 4 days. Then sometimes in December, I might go on a 3-day Muzzloloader hunt in Indiana. I used a Remington 20 gauge the past two years, looking to get one with my new 12 this winter. My uncle owns land by a state park. We take Polaris Rangers out and drop off 8-10 people at different stands and go from there. It's illegal to take cell phones out, but we do anyways that way we can call back to the house if we get one, as I can field dress a deer if someone tells me what to do, but I'd get lost doing it myself.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) Speaking of which, you wanted me to get back to you concerning my journalism class. Basically, it is an intro class to journalism covering basic language and executions. I became the head member of the sports committee in the school newspaper so the Sox will be in ALL issues! So it's a class where you go through and learn basic newspaper stuff and also do it in school newspaper form? Our HS newspaper was in clusterf*** form, as we had to continually work on stuff and took no class time to learn newspaper structure or anything.

Do you stand hunt?

My journalism prof quoted Chomsky today, probably just for Soxy.

I expect pictures and stories.

Besides, Raul Casanova hasn't had his chance to shine yet....

Where will Sox will rank in minor league talent?

Broadway has to be exhausted. Let's wait to judge til next season. I was encouraged by how he started out his minor league career. -
1460/2064 ---> 70.7% confidence points 168-88 --->65.6% game predictions I'm hoping to top these this year. My secret is to pick the Colts, and against the Bears. Honestly, I miss Spiff's contest.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) 70K average median income makes you rich? In my hometown, that's pulling in good money. A family pulling in over 70K is top-tier there. I know my parents do so, and we're middle-middle-class to upper-middle class. Of course, a lot of that, and I appreciate it more and more, is my dad's grasp on our financial situation. He works this stuff out, and even though we aren't rich, we live comfortably and can splurge at times.

I'm in a pay league (30 pay-in) that is more than enough fun for me... considering I've won close to 200 bucks over the last two years....

Iowa favored by 7 by Sheridan, 8.5 by other services. I'm a little surprised at that. Bought my "Beat Iowa > Again" shirt today. If Bret Meyer figures out how to pull his head out of his ass on Saturday, ISU has a chance. Between that and a motherf***in kicker (Yelk!) hopefully Iowa will have a fight on their hands. -
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Very soon the tide will turn, and the deer will have their day my friend.

The neatest thing about deer hunting is getting up into a stand at 6 AM in the middle of December. It's one of those times when you actually connect with nature. Did I miss the memo where cottage cheese on top of pears is a big thing?
-
I would doubt it during a playoff.
