    QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) The odds are that you'll also be able to go to a grocery store or other local shop & find someone who's collecting cash. I think it's actually more important in this one for those who are able to donate blood. When the twin towers fell...there was an increase in demand for blood, but probably very little decrease in supply, since there wasn't going to be a major blood donation center in the towers themselves. However, in this debacle, not only is there going to be a massive increase in demand for blood, there's going to be a huge drop in supply, because every single sanitary donation site in the whole city of New Orleans is shut down. So for the blood supply...this one is probably far worse than 9/11. Givelife.org is the website to set an appointment (Noon thursday for me) In my first aid class there are opportunities to give blood throughout the year, I'll probably hit that up... got that twenty bucks in my pocket right now.....

    QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) you don't have a debit card? and to answer your question, check around campus in the following days, i'm sure there'll be someone collecting. We had people outside the stadium before our game yesterday and they're also scheduled to be walking around our quad sometime this week. I've got a credit card but I don't like using it. At all. It's only use is for if I need the cash. Yah, I've seen some stuff around campus. Maybe the way to go.

    Alright, I got a question. I'd prefer to send cash instead of a check. Did anyone else do that or would have any tips on what to do.
  5. Heads22 replied to Heads22's topic in SLaM

    When I get a chance, I believe I'm gonna send 20 bucks to the Red Cross. I can't handle much more, being a college kid and all, but I gotta figure it helps.

    QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) If that's the case, then there are a ton of users having this error, because there is a section of Apple's support page dedicated to the exact error I'm having. Hray for you and your perfect year, but the one I have is awful. Critic, are you updated with both the newest versions of iTunes and iPod Firmware?

    QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) If we assume that we all are creatures evolved from chimps & that science is rooted in that which we can ONLY observe by our 5 senses then what evidence is there that would convince them the Earth revolves around the Sun? I don't believe the notion is that we descended from chimps, but, a common prehistoric ancestor. BIG difference.

    I got my mini free with my Powerbook. It seems to have a problem updating Podcasts but i haven't run into much other trouble.

    Not much of a connection, butttt...... "'Thank the Lord'? That sounded like a prayer. A prayer in a public school. God has no place within these walls, just like facts don't have a place within an organized religion. "
  13. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) I guess I have just never seen it before. I thought they could only dress 85, so I never thought about it. I think its 85 of scholarship. I may be off though.

  15. It's impossible to say that a guy who hasn't started 1 NFL game yet is equal to or better than anyone.

    QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) I think Senator Frist has the best idea for helping these people. He shut his f***ing mouth, took off his suit and went down there and did something meaningful with his professional training. People should key off that example. I'd be lying if I didn't think he was trying to show a shift more to the middle by criticizing parts of the fed. gov., but I still tip my hat to him. People need to follow his lead.
  17. All the ISU guys I was with were watching the NIU game tailgating, pulling for the Huskies.

  19. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Thanks for the game report. I really appreciate it. I'm excited to see how you guys do against Iowa next week. Should be an interesting game. Ill St. didn't look overly impressive. Heck, their punter kicked it into the back of a lineman and the ball ricocheted up thru the uprights over the punters head. I couldn't tell if Bret Meyer sucked that bad with 2 fumbles, I think, or if Ill. St. was just causing a ruckus. However, the Redbirds didn't go away. Anyone remember Austin Flynn, the QB before the coaches gave Meyer the job? He was nuts as a WR, leading the team in catches. Much better WR. Blythe was a nonfactor. The Redbirds looked to be more physical for stretches in the game, and even a little cocky.
  20. is a pitcher these days. Arnie Munoz, a batter.
  21. Illinois State's drives weren't sustained. A couple of freak plays including an 80 yard td and a fumble return for a touchdown. Ill St. did look like they belonged out there. They did a nice job stopping the run for the most part, and were active playmakers on D. It helped that ISU's first kicker blew balls (not the same guy from the Mizzou game alst year, Culbertson must be hurt) until Yelk came on.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Iowa State and Illinois State tied at 15 in the 3rd quarter. I'm lovin this. Wow. Iowa State sucked tonite.
  23. Doesn't help Ball State that half their starters are gone. Steamroll.
  24. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Dave Wills ?
