  1. Honestly, I tried to figure out what it meant, and that's what I came up with. Oh well.
  2. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) ???? I'm not up on your hip Internet lingo. GM usually means "Give me". I also know what T&A means, so draw your own conclusions...
  3. QUOTE(marsh @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Heads22 wrote: Some comments and posts in game threads lately have gotten the staff talking. Watch for less and less tolerance from the mod team when posters make comments that Sox players "should have their arms broken" or when there is sexual innuendo made about a player. There is no faster way to discredit a website and its posters than with thoughtless comments. Believe it or not, players have read the site, and some have commented both to me and other posters that comments directed at players with the thought of an 10 year old leave many people disgusted, including the players themselves. You can show your displeasure with the play of the team. There is no reason to demean a player as an individual or send a "f*** You" their way, unless, of course, you want to be considered an idiot by the majority of intelligent posters here. Alex Who exactly is discrediting the site? Sox management? Sox players? Why should we care if they discredit the site? Isn't this a "fan" site? It seems that "outside forces" are putting pressure on this to be done. Am I wrong? Other intelligent Sox fans have been discrediting the site. We isn't any pressure to do this except from within. Of course, if we want to be part of more things like Core of the Core in the future, it doesn't hurt to be in good standing with front office officials.
  4. Man, Kalapse's English skills are taking a beating this week. Just wait til he finds out the word is spelled c-o-l-l-a-p-s-e.
  5. QUOTE(marsh @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) If you guys are interested in being able to rub elbows with players and being on the good side of Sox management type folk then more power to ya. I hope you get the attention/special treatment/access you are looking for. We're a hell of a lot more worried about losing exceptional posters who think this place is a s***hole. The staff is on good terms with people we know within the Sox, and the players. We're not worried about that.

    That's a roof.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Leo Daigle. I hear he's good. Scott Bikowski led the AA Southern League in batting average 3 years ago. What about him?
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Baj who? Yas who?
  9. I know a lot of us like to argue over his chances in that but it's not every day a Soxtalk poster (well, about once a year) gets to the majors. All those arguments aside, I just wanted to start a congratulations thread to a guy I like to think of as a friend. It was awesome getting to see him pitch. I'm sure Mike, Jason, Rex and BHAM were also beyond giddy to see him too, along with anyone else who has had the opportunity to talk to him. I know I'm about his biggest fan here, and I'll defend him, but he's given me little reason to not talk about him. I'll also e-mail him the URL for the thread so he can give it a read.
  10. Nope. If we need an OF, we have Anderson.
  11. Basically we feel that the type of posters that are awesome reps for the site and knowledgeble people will have no issue. If a person really wants to tread that line and test the admins and mods, then there's probably not going to be a whole lot of people defending that poster anyways.
  12. Well, I suppose this means there's some good news, and some bad news......
  13. No good can come out of this. So close, I shall. You guys know to contact me if you have any issues with this.

I suppose we could go in and check if a posters been active recently...we could probably even set the board to purge accounts with 0 posts that haven't been active in a year. But that'd be work.
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) except bill brasky And Phil Donahue. But only in March. And November.
  17. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Can we appeal our suspensions to the highest authority in baseball - Bud Selig? That would be me. Seriously, there's no greater person. Ever.
  18. Heads22 replied to the southside tiger's topic in SLaM
Probably. Kinda a pain too, cause we don't want to take away anyone that actually logs in and reads often.
  19. As far as Soxtalk being anti-religous.....post something regarding a religous group doing something like reaching out to people affected by the hurricane or trying to help people and so-such, and I really doubt people would pounce. If Pat Robertson represents the mainstream, I'm beyond concerned.
  20. Ray Liotta and Juan Ovalles fan-freaking-tastic tonite in a shutout. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...=g_box&did=milb
  21. Hmm....oh well.

  23. I've got a baseball signed by Bryan Ward, James Baldwin, Keith Foulke and Chad Bradford. That thing's gotta be worth thousands.....
  24. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) You can say that again Heads 22. Normally people double post real quick like. I'm so slow it takes two minutes. Now, I hear all the women wish Jason could even just be two minutes worth of slow...
  25. I guess you'll have that. Oh well. I emailed him after the game to tell him congrats anyways. He deserved this chance. Let's hope he can put up some solid numbers the rest of the year.
