  1. Yeah, that should help Charlotte immensly.....their rotation looks like it could kick some ass.
  2. Jas, get on AIM if you can. God, we need an IM service for the IM service.
  3. Rex, do you have the official B-ham roster? The link from Minorleaguebaseball.com was missing a player....Bryant Nelson.
  4. I jsut read one of Rex's posts....says he'll be in Birmingham's rotation. I guess it makes sense when ya thiink about it as Charlotte's rotation is rather strong.
  5. As always, comments are appreciated....I'm trying to get it out as quick as I can. I hope to get the nice looking roster up ater tonite, also. The only real surprise is that this msut mean Munoz will be in Bham.
  6. Knights Announce Roster By AlexErnst April 4, 2003 FutureSox.com The Charlotte Knights were the latest team to announce their roster for the 2004 season. The 24-man roster includes 13 returning players, 15 players with major league experience and nine players who are new faces in the organization. The team will carry 12 pitchers, 3 catchers, 5 infielders and 4 outfielders. The Knights pitching staff looks to be one of the strongest in the International League as they have major league experience in Vic Darensbourg, Courtney Duncan, Jason Grilli, Ryan Kohlmeier, Jon Rauch, Dave Sanders, Jose Santiago and Mitch Wylie. Felix Diaz, Gary Majewski, Enemencio Pacheco and Mitch Wylie are considered top prospects in the Sox organization and could be expected to pitch for the Sox in coming years. Kelly Wunsch is also expected to throw during rehab assignments in Charlotte when his teres muscle gets closer to 100 percent. Versatility is the word used to describe the Knights catchers as Jamie Burke, Ryan Hankins and Mike Rivera will all spend time behind the plate. Rivera can DH, Burke can play third or first and Hankins was the third baseman for the Knights last year. Burke was the last demotion for the Sox this year and could be called up if Gload struggles or if the Sox decide to carry only 11 pitchers. New faces will be seen on the infield dirt in Charlotte in 2004. All players are new to the organization, but Kelly Dransfeldt and Bobby Smith both have major league experience. Dransfeldt was in a battle with Burke for the last spot on the Sox roster. Dransfeldt had a monster spring in Cactus League action but the Sox went with 12 players, opting to send Dransfeldt down. Also seeing time in the infield will be Mike Bell, Bryant Nelson and Rich Paz. If needed, Burke and Hankins could fill in from time to time. Jeremy Reed will headline the Knights outfield in 2004 that has the potential to be tops in the International League. The 2003 Minor League Player of the Year hit poorly in Cactus League action, leading some to think he might head to Birmingham, but he will be playing center in Charlotte as he is on the fast track to Chicago. Joining Jeremy will be Joe Borchard who is coming off yet another injury in Spring Training. This will be Borchard's third year in AAA, and many people, both in and out of the Sox organization, feel this is a put-up or shut-up year for Joe. He has the potential to be a star in Chicago but first he needs to get things going in Charlotte. Scott Bikowski led the Southern League with a .312 average last year, but he won't display power similar to Borchard as he only hit three homers over the course of 2003. Mario Valenzuela will also get time in the outfield.
  7. Everything I've seen, including the official roster, says sixth round. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...lub_context=cws
  8. I think their roster is missing Munoz....didn''t think he would be demoted.
  9. Just so you guys know, Alex Ernst is my real name, so if you see anything written by that f***, it came from me.
  10. Not yet, unless Jason's got another email he hasn't told me about. I'm thinking I may wait til we get the release on the Charlotte roster to write anything.
  11. Alas, looks like I have another story to write. Roster seems thin though.

  13. Just so you guys know, I plan on getting the actual roster page up sometime tonite. As for now, you have to suffer thru my carppy writing to see who is on the team. Confusing infield situation, huh?
  14. Intimidators Set Roster By Alex Ernst April 4, 2004 FutureSox.com Earlier today, the Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A affiliate of the White Sox, announced their 2004 roster. The Intimidators are led by first year manager Chris Cron, who managed the Great Falls White Sox rookie league team during the 2003 season. The Intimidators will be carry 13 pitchers, 3 catchers, 6 infielders and 4 outfielders. The Intimidator pitching staff will be led by Brian Miller, who threw the only no-hitter in Kannapolis history against Greensboro. The rest of the staff spent their 2003 seasons in Kannapolis, Bristol or Great Falls. Returning pitchers include Fabio Castro, who also split time at Bristol, Todd Deininger, Jeremy Hudson, who also played in Great Falls last year and Adam Larson. Tim Tisch and Ehren Wasserman also split time between Kannapolis and Bristol last year. Frasier Dizard, John Hurd, Brandon McCarthy and Mike Moat head southeast from Great Falls, where they all spent their 2003 seasons. Daniel Haigwood and Ryan Rodriguez are coming off of injuries and look to help give the Intimidators a veteran presence in 2004. The catching corps is led by Gustavo Molina, who is returning for another year in Kannapolis. Charlie Lisk is returning from a disappointing season while splitting time between Kannapolis and Great Falls. Lisk was #46 in the FutureSox Top 50 countdown, and the only catcher on the list, but his abysmal season last year puts him right in the middle of a dogfight with Molina for the majority of the catching duties. Cesar Castillo will be the third catcher for the intimidators this season. The Intimidator infield is abundant with talent and youth, but low on experience. Andy Gonzalez will be the lone returnee of the infield corps. Robert Valido is the lone promotion from Bristol, while Brandon Bounds, Antonin Gray, Chris Kelly and Micah Schnurstein all make the trip from Great Falls. Gonzalez and Valido are both shortstops and both have been highly regarded by the organization. Kelly was a sixth round draft pick in 2003 and showed some pop with the bat while in college. 2004 Kannapolis Player of the Year and Australian Thomas Brice will lead the Kannapolis outfielders in 2004. He will be joined by third round draft pick Clint King, Seth Morris and Chris Young. King was an All-American at Southern Miss and garnered numerous honors in college due to his hitting prowess. Brice has shown good plate discipline over the last few years. However, with the glut of outfield talent ahead of these players in the organization, they really need to excel if they want any shot at a promotion. The Kannapolis coaching staff returns experience from within the Sox organization with a combined thirty years of coaching experience with manager Chris Cron, pitching coach Sean Snedeker and hitting coach Brandon Moore. Snedeker is the only coach returning from the 2003 team.
  15. Try hitting back and trying it again.
  16. For an easier to read version of the Winston roster: http://www.futuresox.com/index.php?module=...=display&ceid=4
  17. Well, Cotts is going to be on the major league roster, so that could be it....
  18. Bull did talk good of you, Rex. I edited the transcripts to take out some of the language and stuff. Anyone wanting the actual transcript, unedited, email me at my FS email.
  19. Would that be Deal Hotts?
  20. And part of it is that we still need to get a real nice chat room. We might try and use the one on WSC in the future if possible.
  21. Ya gonna let us again after your Cy Young? I assume you're good enough at video games to get one on MVP Baseball.
  22. We'll get something set up before the next one...
  23. Yeah, those suggestions aren't bad. Irregardless, it was a lot of fun for most involved.
  24. I think Bull enjoyed it, but Jim, if you're reading this, how'd it go?
