QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 01:00 AM) Krush, I hate to admit this but I was thinking almost exactly the same thing. I don't always agree with Badger and don't really care about all of the back and forth about this particular topic. But I really don't see the big deal with all of this. I still don't know all of the details, but I have no problem with transfer restrictions within reason. If the kid never spoke with Coach Ryan and essentially "faxed it in", then I'm not too worried about his whining to the press (or the press whining for him). It seems to me this story was really a lot of noise about a very small or non-issue. The debate it had started to encourage about transfer restrictions was good, IMO.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 05:18 PM) Which will be awesome as that may be the only program Iowa fans dislike more than Wisconsin. I honestly don't know of the interest from Iowa State's end. He very well may end up here, and I've read that he'd like to visit, but I'm not sure how our situation will work.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Heads, What appears happened is that Uthoff brought it the wrong person (an athletic director not the compliance director). He didnt deliver it to the compliance director, but Wisconsin is going to have a meeting with Uthoff on Thursday because he did give them a notice so they are going to honor it. As for ISU, no one is sure what is going on. I cant see why Wisconsin wouldnt want ISU to get better at the detriment of Iowa, but it probably is because Hoiberg has been really successful at the transfer game. Right now this seems like a lot of nonsense over Big 10 restrictions. I assume that if Uthoff had said he was fine with the Big 10 restrictions but wanted to visit ISU, Wisconsin may have let him. But I just cant see Wisconsin releasing him to play under scholarship at Indiana or Iowa (the 2 big 10 schools he is appealing on.) I think Uthoff should have let the appeal process play out, instead of fighting the battle in the press. If that reason that you think was the actual reason, that's a f***ing awful reason.

sb, Talked to a buddy over in MBB, said he didn't know if ISU was going after Uthoff or not. If he knew, he'd tell me. I really don't think the ISU restriction makes any sense outside of Ryan thinking there was something fishy. Also, Uthoff DID file an appeal but Wisconsin compliance mishandled it, I guess.

Game Thread: BAL @ CHW, 4/17, 7:10pm
I have no idea how that swing resulted in a base hit other than no one was there. And Betemit was at third.

It's like Adam doesn't even look at the ball as it approaches the plate.

In fact, Gordon seems to be trying to hit our most productive player with his foul balls.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) I never understood how a coach can go from school to school in the middle of contracts while kids have all these restrictions if they want to transfer. Yeah, I find it messed up too. Hypothetically here, but lets say Jarrod wanted to change his major to something offered at ISU but not Wisconsin. Even though he wants to transfer for purely academic reasons, he's being punished for doing something different with his education. Not that that is the case, but being able to randomly place restrictions seems off the mark.

Iowa State doesn't make any sense to me unless Ryan thinks or knows that Hoiberg tampered/convinced Uthoff to transfer/ISU is on a future schedule/Hoiberg seduced Ryan's wife.

So Jarrod Uthoff is restricted from other Big 10 schools, Marquette and Iowa State. He's appealing the restrictions, so I would assume that means he was looking at Marquette or ISU as a landing spot, otherwise, why bother?

Sounds like ISU will get their #1 RB, Shontrelle Johnson, back after a neck injury. We might have won more than 6 games with him healthy all year.
