  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 08:02 PM) De Aza playing way too deep, and turned that single into a triple. Peavy's slider is getting crushed. Yup.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) husband. captain. professional hitter. I hear he's a professional lover too.
  3. Nice two strike swing by Flowers, unfortunately Holland was in the way.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) We've been saying this for 4 years now I think. Paulie is just too good to let pitchers work around him. He's really just evolved into a professional hitter. It's fun watching him work at bats.
  5. I don't know if I'm imagining this, but is Peavy working quicker than last year?
  6. I'd forgotten what it'd looked like to throw out a baserunner. Nice job by Tyler.
  7. Nice to see Rios looking the exact same. Let's some some JFP.
  8. Ha, watching Super Joe wave in De Aza was hilarious.
  9. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 04:30 PM) Did you see Cespedes' homer yesterday? An absolute BOMB & he had a pose at home plate that the Mariners pitcher didn't like too much. Think it was the longest homer so far in majors. Yup, 13 foot longer than Dunn's.
  10. Yay, first WGN game.

  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Wilkins with a very impressive swing off of a big league pitcher. It seems fairly obvious that Santiago is going to be the closer. In a few games where Ventura has managed the bullpen realistically, he had Reed/Thornton setting up for Santiago. I was very, very impressed with what I saw from N. Jones tonight. Thornton looked terrible though, as his fastball seemed way off. Hopefully he was just preserving his arm. It'll be interesting to see how Santiago handles the job. Going into the spring, I was hoping he'd get a long relief job. But between a mid 90s fastball and a screwball that surely not many of the guys he'll face have seen before, he's got a shot.
  13. The Houston gun has Thornton sitting at 92 MPH.
  14. Surprised no one has mentioned that this game is free on MLB.TV, including the premium version in HD. It looks awesome. Almost as good as Addison Reed did right there.

I also hope its not til January before the next season. Shameless has really hit a groove.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) F*** this, I'm hiding under my desk. Edit: Jesus ****ing ****. My office is about 30 yards from Neyland stadium, and I flat out couldn't see the stadium there for about 2 minutes out the windows. This is becoming an everyday occurrence. Did a moonshine still blow up?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) I think this game is over within first 8 minutes. Kentucky by 18 is my prediction, as I'll be flipping it to Raw by 9PM It's ridiculously important for Kansas to get off to a strong start. Granted, Iowa State let UK go up 12 in the first half and came back to tie it, that's certainly not the best way to go about it. This game isn't about Thomas Robinson vs. Anthony Davis. The other guys will determine this game. If Withey can provide some offense, Taylor can shoot well and Kansas can get big contributions off the bench, they have a shot.
  18. Tyshawn has to light it up.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 1, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) I really don't think that highly of Martin. What's to say he wasn't riding on the coattails of Huggins' recruiting? I think a lot of people all expected it to fall to s*** within a couple of years after Huggins but it never did.
  20. I see where Rex is coming from, but like him, the only time I only ever watched Davis was against Iowa State, and he was the third or fourth most impressive player that night behind White, Teague and Miller.
  21. It'll all come down to if he can recruit to Manhattan.
  22. Larry Coyer is cool as s***. Met him for the first time today.
  23. It's not football season until an Iowa running back tears an ACL. It's amazing how that just happens in Iowa City. Canzieri is the next man down.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2012 -> 08:15 AM) Do you clutch your jaw while running? Not consciously,
