I can't sleep. Saturday night I got real drunk and slept til about 2 PM on Sunday. That being said, I've been laying in bed since 2 AM and cannot sleep. I've got my alarm set for noon. I have to be up by 6:30 AM on Tuesday because I have a doctor's appointment. This sucks.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 19, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) After the Webber and McDermott failures I've learned not to talk up Valley coaches but Marshall has definitely done a fantastic job at Wichita and Winthrop. I think Gregg Marshall is a fantastic coach. The last Valley coach I was really a fan of was his predecessor, Turgeon.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 18, 2012 -> 05:15 PM) I'm not surprised. Like I had been saying, Weber should have been fired after Wednesday. Players have quit on him. In a game with two head coaches looking to get fired.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 15, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Northwestern isn't dead yet either, though to be honest the death of Illinois hurts the cats chances. NW has really strong power numbers, if they can go 3-2 with one of those wins being OSU they're going to get in even with a below .500 record, not likely I know but possible. And if they go 4-1 they're in as well. It's going to be a struggle for them but they're no where near dead. Out of Illinois, Minnesota and Northwestern, it looks like they all have a chance to earn it, but the road looks tough.

I realize its a tough league but it's tough seeing any team with a 5-8 conference record after tonight having a great shot, but maybe I'm missing something.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 13, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) no one seems to be a very good matchup for trob. Guy is so good. I hate kansas Ejim did a VERY good job against him for only being 6-6.Holding him to 11/14 and 13/7 is really good. I'll take TRob only averaging 12 and 10.5. We look like dogs*** right now against Baylor though. Can't go cold from behind the arc.

We'll learn a lot more about this team in two hours. Kansas is actually a pretty good matchup for Iowa State. Not sure about Baylor, but I probably don't need to rehash my feelings on Scott Drew.

What happened between the McDermotts in the Wichita State - Creighton game that Andy Katz is equating to the most awkward thing ever?- 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) Baylor is playing on low confidence, but it would take something special for the Clones to win in Waco. Iowa State's tourney hopes hinge on their final 3 conference games. Not really. I'm just waiting for Scott Drew to keep a zone on us like he did against Mizzou. If we win just two more home games we're not in the worst shape. It's all about defending the home court. I have a tough time seeing a 20-11 (10-8) team that finishes fourth in the Big 12 being kept out. That being said, I still see us splitting with Baylor.- 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
Texas A&M is just awful to watch offensively. On the bright side, Iowa State is now tied with Baylor for third in the Big 12 with a game in Waco on Monday night that should be pretty good.- 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
That was nasty.- Peavy ready for bounce back season
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) But couldn't you argue, since we're ALWAYS in "win now" mode over the last decade...that Hudson for Jackson was also the best move to compete in 2010, that Hudson couldn't have possibly put up the same numbers as E-Jax did? That's where you get into, "yes, but...we lost 4 1/2 years of cost-controlled Daniel Hudson," which added to the payroll and put KW in a position where he had to deleverage the salaries of Teahen/Frasor/Quentin/Jackson/Buehrle, etc. The Santos one...is the head scratcher. Will be interesting to see how that one works out...but at least there's the logic of Addison Reed as your go to option. Trading Thornton/Crain/Floyd...those would have been more expected from a team in our position. And the Danks extension was the diametrically opposed option of dealing Sergio. At least we're unpredicatable. There's that. Other than David Ortiz, how many other full-time DH's are paid over $10 million per year??? I know Posada was as well, last year. Just curious. I wasn't trying to argue about any of that. Just the Dunn move, which was our GM addressing our biggest need with the best available fit on the market.- Peavy ready for bounce back season
Dunn's 2011 season doesn't mean it was the wrong move to make, it means it was a move that went wrong, and when evaluating a GM that needs to be taken into consideration. - 2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
