  1. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) Appreciate the kind words, fellas. Who are you?
  2. Heads22 replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
    Any Ames bar bathroom.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) I still have zero doubt that Romney walks away with this thing, but his general favorability numbers have been steadily declining since early January. Any other GOP candidate would lose in a historic landslide. I really don't think that there was any way the GOP should lose this election if they knew what they were doing. But things don't look overly rosy for them.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) None of the candidates look very strong right now. If Romney would have had a big night tonight, it'd have been like going into the fourth quarter with a sizable lead. He's left it as a 10 point game right now, and is punting. I just don't see how the Republican party could seriously let Santorum ultimately win this, either. Despite the fact he won Iowa, I guarantee that the state stays blue if he was the nominee.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) Santorum likely to win the contest that doesn't count in Missouri and has a decent early lead in the slow moving MN caucus. This is looking like his night. The Republicans really don't care about winning the presidency this fall, apparently.
  6. Gotta survive in Stillwater for twenty more minutes. 8-3 to start out in the Big 12 would be really nice, and would equal a tie for third with Baylor or Kansas. But we haven't won there since 1988. Just gotta survive.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Wow, nutso finish at OU. Anywho, nobody will remember this one but solid W for MU, this was the ultimate trap game... You couldn't have drawn it up any better after the second free throw for OU.
  8. Illinois should go after that guy at Creighton.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) Well as I said UNLV>KU imo and Texas is clearly better than Colorado who is just garbage. Once again, it depends how you look at CSU who is a decent team. Anywho this is very much a pointless argument at the moment, just thought I'd throw it out there for fun. Wyoming has brown uniforms, and brown is the color of poop.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) With out re-looking at their resume's I believe they both have 3 top 100 wins. I personally believe that UNLV is a better team than KU so after that it's just how you feel about Colorado State. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Wyoming belongs in the tourny right now but I believe that Iowa State has a ton more work to do to be a serious tourny team. Quality of those top 100 wins is different though when it's Kansas/K-State/Texas and UNLV/Colorado/Colorado State. Iowa State also hasn't lost to a team outside the top 25 (at the time) since UNI on November 30, and only two losses all year outside the top 25 (UNI and Drake). Both teams still have time to earn it, though. EDIT: Whoops, I was also wrong on ISU, they lost to Texas a couple weeks ago when they were unranked.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 06:12 PM) So are your boys. Very similar resume's right now. Ehh, yes but no.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) Not to incite a riot but if a team like Iowa State is getting serious consideration for an At Large at the moment then Wyoming has to be given the same after today. Obviously a long way to go but very similar teams at the moment. Wyoming's wins outside of UNLV are a little sketchy.
  13. Creighton hits a 3 with 4.9 seconds left to tie it, UNI hits a buzzer beater.
  14. UNI about to beat Creighton if they don't collapse with 9 seconds left.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Take that, Purple Aces The purple scourge of the Midwest.
  16. Baylor and Okie State in a tight one.
  17. Lets quit acting like being a teacher is a normal job. It's not. You have one person responsible for the welfare of twenty plus children at a time while at the same time being expected to educate them for the real world. As far as Obama, I'm going to vote for him, but it's a failure on the part of the Republican party that it doesn't look like he should lose. If it wasn't for the absolute dumpster fire that they have representing them at the top, they should be measuring drapes in the Oval Office. I also get a kick out of people that use Obama's middle name as a scare tactic.
  18. I wish we could have Mizzou at home around now rather than right at the beginning of the conference season. Gotta pull for Kansas today as a Big 12er.
  19. He didn't do anything wrong. I'm just surprised that he continued to engage him. It's also a pretty interesting discussion.
  20. Royce White and Doug Gottlieb going at it on Twitter. Royce is Highway_30 "@GottliebShow: not likely RT @evanmulville: @GottliebShow how do you feel about a NBA career for Royce White?" "@GottliebShow: @evanmulville undersized for 4--also, to be honest--the anxiety disorder scares some NBA guys in addition to other issues" "@Highway_30: @evanmulville @GottliebShow, Mental illness doesn't stop success, people stigmitizing it does, criticizing my game is fine...." "@Highway_30: 2evanmulville @GottliebShow...Leave the millions of anxiety sufferers out of it. You're just perpetuating the stigma" "@GottliebShow: @Highway_30 never said mental illness stops success, but NBA peeps are afraid of what they do not understand--these are just facts" "@Highway_30: ...Gottlieb, out of line" "@Highway_30: @GottliebShow never said mental illness stops success, but NBA peeps are afraid of what they do not understand--these are just facts...okay, sounds better." "@Highway_30: @GottliebShow Being afraid of what we don't understand is actually quote natural, not informing ourselves is neglectful..." "@Highway_30: @GottliebShow Your words carry weight, that initial tweet was like, NBA guys have a legitimate reason to be afraid..." "@GottliebShow: @Highway_30 doesnt change the fact that when a borderline guy is being discussed, teams pass" "@GottliebShow: @Highway_30 my initial tweet was my informed analysis, based on my evaluation and people I have spoken w/-u dont like it, that is fine" "@Highway_30: @GottliebShow No hard feelings, we just have to clean up the talk about an already stigmatized. Not for people trying to get to the NBA" "@Highway_30: @GottliebShow But for people who still need diagnosis and treatment ... They're more important"
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) Iowa hasn't been near as terrible as they have in years past. Still a little inconsistent but they now have 4 conference wins. Including wins against Minny (twice), @ Wiscy, and against Michigan. I cannot figure out Iowa. They are both one of the best and one of the worst teams in the Big Ten.
  22. Ahhh Doug McDermott. Best fact about him? He did not start for his high school team. He's at Iowa State right now if his dad doesn't kill the basketball program, but he allowed the program to become stuck in the mud for so long that he didn't want his son to come into a position where his dad likely could have been fired. Ames f***ing Iowa had TWO PLAYERS that have been or are considered among the best in college basketball at some point between Harrison Barnes and Doug McDermott. Iowa State was not able to land either of them (with Barnes growing up as an ISU fan and his dad playing at ISU) thanks to Greg McDermott and the train wreck he helped create. But I'm not bitter or anything.
  23. Big Ten basketball, you are f***ing awful. Remaining Big Ten players that transferred to Iowa State, I have no idea how you won tonight. Royce White is a f***ing animal.
  24. There's no reason Texas should ever be ninth in the Big 12 ever.
  25. Kabongo taking a jump shot is an awful way for any Texas possession to end.
