  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2011 -> 08:22 AM) Depending on who the players coming back are, that's much less value than I'd expect them to get for that pick. The starting price ought to be 3-4 draft picks, where the Colts get the guys without having to take back the contracts. Especially if you want to do the th ing I think is a Mistake, keeping Peyton Manning on the roster and paying him a $28 million bonus in March (read that number again before replying), you can't be taking players back for Luck, just picks. Things get tough when it's the best quarterback in NFL history.
  4. Either way, I think we all agree that we'd love to see Adam bounce back. From all accounts, he seems to be a good guy that got into a hole last year and just couldn't get out. He was literally the most consistent player in terms of production out there that we could have gotten.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2011 -> 07:30 AM) And with the fact that Mark brought the offer back to the White Sox to try to get a contract offer, even if it was at a lower price, it shows Ozzie wasn't his first choice. And also to clarify, just Joe Cowley said there was a grudge. No one else made that crap up. Not to mention the interview where Mark basically said he wanted to come back to Chicago and kind of planned on it before he retires.
  6. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) Could this be an extension that has been agreed to by another team? No.
  7. danks and white sox agree on $65M, 5-yr deal. looks like some fan had it first. lol danks deal wont be announced until after xmas, as he has a physical to take. #chisox - heyman
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) In other words: CJ Wilson money (5/$77.5M) and I agree 100%. k0na has most definitely earned our respect as a source of information so I don't doubt that the Sox are making a push to re-sign Danks but that number makes zero sense. Wasn't it someone on here who was pushing the StateStSports blog? It seems awful convenient to throw a number out there after k0na reports that an extension is imminent, I just don't get why they would go with such a low number when the smart money would be on CJ Wilson money. I guess the only way it would make sense for JR to give a 5 year deal to a starter if he could get him at his price? Not terrible logic, still doesn't make a ton of sense from Danks' perspective unless 2010 just scared the hell out of him. Yeah, it was Jimbo.
  9. Now, if this is true and we decide to go for it, I'd like to see us acquire a young closer-type, as well as a veteran lefty with a dependable arm.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Decent? If true, that's a phenomenal deal for the Sox. That's a coup and it also makes me think, if true, that KW was underwhelmed with offers.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) I'm so confused. ALL IN: THE SEQUEL You and I both.
  12. I like John. I do. But like has been said, I have no clue what this team is trying to do.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) ESPNChiSox Doug Padilla Luxor has #whitesox 12-1 to win AL crown & 25-1 to win Series in 2012. They know something we don't? Today is a weird day.
  14. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) It's confusing news to say the least. This.
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) k0na Doug Seyller #WhiteSox danks signs a big contract with the sox. repeat. big. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply k0na Doug Seyller #WhiteSox Danks signs a pretty big contract with the Sox. 16. I think I'm seeing about 3 Rick Perry commercials per television show.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 01:57 PM) That can be hit and miss. There are a lot of hot ones and they're tall, which is nice. But I've found that often times, they end up being a bit psycho. Oh, back to your point, how much did he like them? And re: the last post, I'd imagine witnesses refuse to testify on stuff like this for fear of their own safety a lot. College sports fans and boosters are a bit crazy, as we all know. Quite a bit, apparently.
  18. Hahah I've heard about some Gene Smith shenanigans. Apparently he liked volleyball players.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) Doug McDermott might be the best player in the country this year. HES NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR IOWA STATE GOOD THING HIS DAD DIDNT WANT HIM TO PLAY THERE

    We're supposed to find out who gets the first crack at him tonight... This mustache must not be denied.
  21. Leaving for NYC on Xmas, but have to get packed now. I set my clothes outside my room so that I had some room in my bedroom. Glad my roommate could come back and smoke weed so all my s*** reeks now.
