I want a starting pitcher and one or two arms for the pen if we can manage the “cost”. We’ll need at least two more reliable bullpen pieces but I’m confident one is already in our system. If the cost to upgrade the rotation is prohibitive then we’ll have to put our hope in Smith returning to form or one of the other guys who are also currently on the IL. Even if Hagen has truly turned the corner and they want to refine his command at the big league level, he just doesn’t have enough innings built up yet for us to hope on him for this season. Our rotation is the biggest question mark and tight rope act… but it’s a fantastic feeling to finally have budding confidence again in our development staff. Reminds me of how the vision started becoming clear in mid 2004 and then that subsequent offseason… just super charged with lightning.

it was SO fun going to Sox v Angels games and brutally laying into Yoan during game 2.
