Whoa - there's like news and stuff...
-
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) Pretty impressive for a 2nd year starter to make that list. Damned straight
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) This thread should be drug out into the street and shot. Then possibly incinerated. I approve of this message. You've gotta admit thou - this offseason has been the least active in a long long time.
-
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) I expect multiple roster changes still. Um... Yea.
-
I can't imagine what we'd have to give up in addition to Ramirez for Upton. Ramirez, Thornton, Floyd, & Mitchell? Trade Floyd for prospects and include them with Ramirez and Thornton? Sure seems like we'll see some action soon. w00t w00t

Gotta love em - gonna miss him Now... Flowers... Please break the f*** out like an uncaged beast
-
The likely hood of a trade for a position player who hits LH just went way up imo
-
I'd love to get Trumbo somehow and then trade Rios or Tank. I could totally get off keeping Tank if we had Trumbo.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) Stubbs and Bauer for Choo. That's an awesome haul for a guy they weren't going to re-sign after this year. Unreal. I wanted Bauer. Nice trade for the Indians.

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) Sounds like Jason Kubel IMO If Dayan and DeAza are on the table (especially in deals for prospects) then we have enough to get him, and he'd make sense in LF. Otherwise, if it's the "wanted for 5 years guy" I will guess Markakis. I looked at his contract & he's due $15M for 2013-14 with a $17M club option or $2M buyout. If the O's are thinking about moving him I bet the Sox are in on it. Kubel and Bauer = I like.

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) Another Sox example of this was KW dumping Carlos Lee for Pods & Vizcaino. Ignorance. That trade also freed up finances to sign AJ AND Iguchi. If Carlos Lee was on the Sox in 2005 - we'd still be World Seriesless.

Give me Upton and Trevor Bauer and I'll poop my pants.
-
It opens up the door to trade rios or de aza. This line up looks juicy... 3B - Kipp RF - Rios CF - Hamelton 1B - Konerko DH - Dunn SS - Rameriz LF - Tank C - Flowers 2B - Bacon Get rid of Floyd, Thornton, De Aza, and open up the purse strings. Give me McCarthy in this pipe dream too.
-
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) The only way they'd even begin to have room for that would be dealing Floyd and Thornton, and I just don't think that'd be a very smart move. I like it obviously, my brain is dreaming it up. Lol
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 08:08 AM) Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS If the #chisox can clear money (look away gavin floyd), they will start thinking seriously about a big hitter, likely a lhh I actually had a dream last night that we traded Floyd and deaza and signed Hamilton.
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Hahn: no marching orders to shed payroll AKA... Smokescreen: we don't have to trade anyone and only will if you give us what we want.
-
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Could it be time to package Floyd and Viciedo, and add LH bat with a difference maker in the outfield? One would think this is the last offseason that any mystery surrounds DV's value. I personally think it will be a mistake to trade Viciedo. Last year was his first full time season and it was a success in my eyes. He had his struggles but the guy just has too much going for him to trade in his sophomore year. For me, you don't even consider trading him until the 2014 off-season. It's still my contention and hope that he becomes one of the best 5 hole hitters in the league.

QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Jon Morosi @jonmorosi Jack Hannahan has interest from teams on major league deals. #WhiteSox and #Marlins among suitors. @MLBONFOX https://twitter.com/jonmorosi Gross to be compared with the Marlins. Please no.

QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) Bucket.. So by saying rick has lots of plates spinning tonight, do you think by tomorrow Rick makes a move That's like asking a circus clown if he is going to drop a ball while juggling during his next performance. He has no ******* idea. The fact that he's got the insight to know that many things are in the air, is cool enough in and of itself. Just my opinion, like everything else.

I'm starting to think that we do end up signing AJ to finish his career with us.... One could construe recent White Sox media communications to be positioning Flowers as a trade chip. Floyd + Flowers? I love and hate this time of year when it comes to baseball.
-
QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 08:09 AM) Sox are interested in bringing back Brandon McCarthy. Perfect fit IMO. http://www.rantsports.com/mlb/2012/12/04/w..._medium=twitter Trade Floyd and take McCarthy for a 2 year 12.5 million contract. Put the other 3M towards a 3rd baseman... or have Jerry pony up some more to resign AJ.
-
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) With the Red Sox signing Napoli doesn't a trade for Ryan Lavarnway make at least some sense for this club? I know he's a bad defensive catcher, but there just isn't that much out there. Doesn't Lavarnway seem to project as less than Flowers. I don't know enough about him to evaluate but based on numbers, it seems like Flowers is actually the closer candidate between these two.

Sox looking at low-end starter, trading Floyd
hi8is replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) O's reporter stating they're interested in Floyd. Makes sense that a team like the O's may pay top dollar for a guy like Floyd. The O's need dependable arms. Only had 1 guy make 30 starts. Gavin had made 30 four years in a row prior to last when he made 29. And he's from the Maryland area. If the O's would pull the trigger, now's the time with them actually being decent, contending and should afford a salary like Floyd's. https://twitter.com/masnRoch/statuses/275728077949128706 I like hearing that multiple parties are in on Floyd. It also seems like Hahn is doing a great job in being a bit more patient while allowing markets to develop. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) Move's I'd make... Fantasy owner of the year award for 2013 has already been decided. You win.
