QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) MLB Minimum is $500,000 I think. Less than my last contract but I'd accept it for a career change

Bucket, we see you. Any nuggets?

I propose that they give me at least 250 at bats in 2017

QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) To state the obvious, we really need to start drafting and developing better, especially when it comes to position players. It's always frustrating to see all these well-stocked farm systems and then we have to give up a Chris Sale or Jose Quintana just to catch up. We've come a long way. They're drafting in the right direction - 2014 => 2015 => 2016 all saw a progression of our draft philosophy which I expect will continue into 2017 and 2018. We really need to start spending more in international signings. How many of these prospects we've been drooling over have been international signings? Seems like AT LEAST half to me.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) We will have tons of money to spend, plus free agents will likely notice the sort of team we will be building here And they'll all be unable to resist the shine of "guaranteed rate" branding.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) I don't know what it is, but I'm finally starting to get the feel that something is imminent and we might actually see a Q move happen soon. But... it's not Wednesday!

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) Have to set your DVR to record hot stove every day . As long as the Sox are in the headlines for their past and future moves and the rumors flying it's fun to watch. A lot of fluff on the show but since the winter meetings I've seen numerous guys talking about the Sox .,,Heyman , Morosi , Rosenthal , Dan Hayes, Rogers, Joel Sherman , Merkin . By the way here's the link to it http://m.mlb.com/cws/video/?content_id=121...14&c_id=cws . It's on the Sox website. It's not the whole phone call so don't know if it's much. One of the few downsides of cutting the cable cord.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 05:51 PM) Q's curveball at :58 is so beautiful. Such a badass. Season starts today we have a starting 5 of what... Q Rodon Shields Holland Gonzalez Not to shabby - let's win this thing

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) 42 Winner.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) 200 IP 3.35 ERA 1.25 WHIP 225 Ks Incidentally, why are all these threads called "Predict Thy Numbers" rather than "Predict The Numbers"? Because poop.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) I think Houston plays the wait and see game for the first half of the year before deciding to add an arm. Highly likely they're counting on a return to form. Bastards. Oh well... maybe next Wednesday.

QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) It's not a matter of patience, it's just my opinion that this isn't a full rebuild. We will see who is right on opening day. Opening day isn't a deadline when we're talking about this team rebuilding. Come on man, catch up.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Yanks did show interest in Quintana (@jonmorosi on it) but don't want to part w/frazier or Torres so likely a non-starter https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/811720851435438080 Retards.

QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) A Q trade could possibly bring our top ten into 10 top 100, depending where Basabe falls and what the third piece of said trade is, but its entirely possible. 10 top 100 prospects... crazy.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:28 PM) We have had two in the last two days. Names! I want naaaames!! ? Baby mode over.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Nope, but if you want a long shot, we at one point had been discussing Quintana trades including rox trades and bucket said many trade propositions in our thread were close to what was being discussed. Basically a done deal Q to Rockies. We really need some fresh new rumors.

QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Who wasn't? Exactly

Have at it...

QUOTE (Username @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) Insane how loaded our core was at one point with position players. Thomas, Magglio, Konerko, Carlos Lee, Ray Durham, Valentine...how was that team not better??? Who was the fifth starter again?

QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) Don't get me hot.. Is that a 1950's movie?

QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Lol I'm here. I do wait... Case in point. ^

QUOTE (BRIRO2017 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) Lol calm down bra You hath no idea to what you speak.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Interesting how Glasnow and Kingham and Hansen are still somewhat in the talks. These were the big 3 we discussed ad nauseum for Peavy. None really impacted MLB yet. Hansen nosedive

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) Holy s***, there are 140+ users reading this thread. IT IS WEDNESDAY!!!

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 12:38 PM) Shift Marte to CF and Conforto to LF? You think they view Conforto and Meadows evenly? Seems to me they're really high on Meadows.
