  1. 3 way trade... Hudson to milwaukee Santos to team X for two starting pitching prospects ( who also go to the brewers ) We get fielder I don't know if it's worth Santos and hudson to get fielder but I think you could do it discuss
  2. QUOTE (ICP! @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) On a side note....I dont like when people end their posts with "Discuss". Like they just had some ground breaking post and that they are now allowing the masses to have long discussions about what they just said because it is just that good. LOL Not picking on you Bearsox, it was just something a lot of posters do and I have to laugh at it everytime. Discuss. Moderators towering down and cynically dysecting a post in judgement = good Posters ending a post with the word discuss = bad get off your high horse
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) Our starting pitching has some pretty big question marks, but so do those of the Twins and Tigers. The division could easily come down to who acquires the best starting pitcher. I don't know what question marks on our SP staff you're talking about amigo
  4. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 01:50 AM) i really hope this is just a bad game and not a sign of things to come.... The games not over yet - we're just down by 3 with a lot of time to come back
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) I watched it. Nothing interesting to note. To each their own. However, next time I share something of interest I'll make sure to state a disclaimer to protect you from the burden of looking at something which doesn't appeal to you.

  7. QUOTE (S_R_N83 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 12:09 AM) Pierre -- LF Vizquel -- 3B Rios -- CF Konerko -- 1B Quentin -- RF Kotsay -- DH AJ -- C Ramirez -- SS Beckham -- 3B Danks -- P Me no likey no viceido
  8. Can someone explain this to a laymen like myself - in terms of possible future implications.
  9. It rubs the lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Wow. Might as well as just said Albert Pujols there. I am hoping he can be the AL version of Pablo Sandoval. I think that Viciedo has the potential to be a Miguel Caberra type hitter SLG wise - but down a bit on the OPS / AVE.
  11. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) He hits the ball extremely hard. I wanna see that kinda stuff for the next decade. I love this kid - he may end up being my next Frank Thomas. =)
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) but the price of getting hurt was really not worth the risk. =)
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) The point is that one catch shouldn't mold your entire opinion or sway your opinion about somebody's playing abilities. I can probably pick out 20 plays that Carlos Quentin should have made, but didn't. Looks like I'm wrong - is is a criminal out there in right field...
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Yup, had he ran a good route to the ball, he wouldn't have missed three games as a result. Yea - looks like he had a horrid route to the ball after watching the video of the play.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Yup, had he ran a good route to the ball, he wouldn't have missed three games as a result. If his defense was horrid - that would have been a triple. =)
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) No, it really is horrid.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) Carlos Quentin hits well enough to get into MVP consideration, despite his horrid defense. I don't think his D has been horrid. I mean - come on... horrid? NOT EVEN CLOSE! =)
  18. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 06:53 AM) Yeah, it says they would try to convince him.. Pretty sure Peavy didnt wanna come here at first either but that happened as well.. if we trade with Houston I want Berkman and Oswalt.. but I dont think Oswalt would change his stance on playing here.. Do you know what his objection to playing here is?
  19. I was pleased with what I saw with Huddy today. The only thing I was thinking got him into trouble was his command. Fix that - and watch him fly. =)
  20. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 02:29 AM) Sox shouldn't be expected to land Fielder. We'd drain the farm (not that I would really care) but we'd also trade current Major Leaguers for a guy that Borass will not let re-sign here and also a guy who like Danks and Quentin will be asking for big raises in arb after the season. I'd love Fielder, but he's not realistic IMO. People need to hop on the Adam LaRoche bandwagon if we can't get Dunn (and the Sox would be braindead to meet the Nats price) because no one else out there is going to be worth the price IMO. We could conceivably add LaRoche, another reliever, and an AL #3/#4 type starter if we need one without losing Viciedo or Hudson, who are the only two high-level MiLBers who even matter. PS Mark Teahen is a dog who should be beaten with a shovel. If we could get those peices without giving up Viciedo or Hudson - sign me the f*** up!
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) Word is that he's on the block. He's making $3.8 million this year and up for arbitration next year before he hits free agency in 2012. Amongst stats people, Nolasco is the perfect example of why ERA is evil, because the guy had nothing but bad luck last year, came up with a 5 ERA, but had a 3.35 FIP. He really sucked early on in the year, but he's started to pitch very well lately. His K rate has been climbing back to respectable rates and he rarely walks anyone. He does give up a lot of home runs, but is a fairly neutral pitcher. I don't know what the Marlins could command, but he's not going to get any cheaper and we all know how the Marlins roll when it comes to salary. ZiPS projects a 3.74 FIP and a 4.31 ERA the rest of the way. With his high ERA, I don't expect him to come at an extremely expensive price. A Miami Herold reporter Chat Spencer said:
