  1. YEA BABY! 1-2-3 inning 0 ER through 3 innings Keep it goin bud! Keep it goin! Give me 6IP of shutout ball b****! =D
  2. If this guy could learn how to command his f***ing pitches - he'd be a decent starter!
  3. So far I like what I see from Harrell... He has a nice fastball with some tailing movement to it. His curve breaks on a nice plane. Just is getting behind and not getting ahead.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) Brewers are done, Rosenthal reports. No Prince for us. (should we take this to the trade winds forum?) Eh - this stuff just blends into one at about this stage of the game.
  5. Here is a link that includes a video that has KW talking about the Jackson deal: http://www.csnchicago.com/07/30/10/Sox-dea...&feedID=661
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) And I'm also thankful someone else reported the story on here about how Ozzie wants a roster full of guys that can't hit home runs, and in his ideal lineup, Pierre would bat 4th. I don't believe that for a second. Ozzie wasn't being sarcastic there - no way. =P
  7. I'll finally give you guys the low down. The trade which will potentially shock the world IS.... Drum roll please..... scroll down. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Actually not a trade at all. They are hoping to sign Free Agent, Trevor Caesar. ---- That would be me. Kenny has been blowing up my phone pleading for me to come on board for 10 Million over the rest of this year... but I don't know... seems like they can offer more. I have a career batting average over .500
  8. I am really encouraged by the prospect of Edwin Jackson. The last time that we heard, "We see 1 flaw in his mechanics." was with Thornton - and we've helped him reach his ceiling. I do not know if you guys realize this but... Edwin Jackson's ceiling is an ACE. What he did last year in Detroit was nice - but his ceiling is still higher than that. He has the potential to be a 20 game winner with a low or sub 3 ERA / low 1 WHIP. This could be another trade that makes a lot of you appreciate our GM, our management, and our scouting. I also remember Contreras and have a similar feeling regarding this trade as I did at that time. When we traded for Contreras, everyone was saying he was horrid - was a failure - wasn't a successful pitcher - was a bum - etc. We heard at that time, "He may be tipping his pitches and we can fix that." Another similar situation where our team helped a struggling pitcher reach their potential. Even if Edwin doesn't get traded by us in another deal - I am happy with this. I love this guys stuff and have always thought he will be an amazing starter some day.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) again, not that I don't believe posters when they post things, but source? His twitter last said "don't confuse quite with inactivity" He is on the score radio show right now, I heard the same thing too.
  10. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) Damn B & B are the worst... these guys are mind numbing.... Absolutely horrid.
  11. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Score not broadcasting it live. B&B said they'll talk to their reporter when its done. yea - i'm listening to the score - don't know what their deal is in not broadcasting it. i've now had the pleasure of listening to horrid announcers on the score... yay.
  12. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) KW presser at 4:30 per the Score. Anyone know how an out of towner can listen to this??
  13. I just got banned from wsi for telling a mod to f*** himself. soxtalk is so much better.
  14. Funny - Tim Kurkjin just was on sportscenter saying that there is no way Jackson gets traded for Dunn and that he is sure that he will not be going to the Nationals. I just love this time of year!!
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Well, here we go again with the Cooper Will Fix Him posts. How many reclaimation projects have Coop failed on? I can only think of all the success he has had the point is - having a pitcher with the right stuff and Cooper to help harness that stuff - should logically equate to good things. It's not like the "Coop will fix him" posts are unfounded
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) We're what? The 5th organization to say this about Jackson? Just goes to show that Jackson's potential is there. I've got faith in Coop and KW
  17. I've loved Jackson since his rookie year with the dodgers... I've always believed he could turn it around. If anyone can do it - it's Coop. The price tag for next year is high - but... If they can get Jackson to pitch like he is capable of... Then we've got an ace for .50 on a dollar. So, even if we end up keeping him... I'm satisfied and will have faith in our coaching to turn him around... Ala: contreras loiza thorton Floyd I'm just disapointed Jackson won't start for us tonight since it's his turn in the rotation!
  18. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 07:46 AM) Lol I was more or less saying even with this move I don't think KW would be done. And based on the follow-up move, then I'd be able to judge the trade better. Ahhhhhh - understand now nice nick name btw
  19. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) I think we need to ride this rumor out before judging how good or bad it is for us. We don't know who is going there if they are at all (Hudson starts Tom.) and who knows what moves we make after this one. I for one won't judge this trade as rumored Hudson+ ? For Jackson until after 3PM on Saturday. Then what's the point of reading trade speculation
  20. An hour before this Jackson stuff hit the scene Scott Merkin said: " Expect the unexpected from Williams at Trade Deadline. "
  21. Maybe Arizona pays half of Jacksons 2011 salary?
  22. KW and company have always coveted Jackson... I wouldn't be suprised if they keep him and think that they can turn him into the 2011 version of 2005 Jose Contresas
  23. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 05:52 AM) Man would that be amazing, a Berkman and Jackson from AZ trade would be great additions. And at the most it hopefuly would only cost us at the MOST maybe Hudson and one of the trio with the rest being fillers for both players. But Jackson is set to make 8.65 million next year. Yuck. I've always love his stuff and have followed him since his debut with the Dodgers. The Sox might seem him as being able to reach his potential and become an ace - therefore, being worth the price tag next year. Then again, as others have mentioned - it could be that we just wanna flip him. Oh joy - I sure do love the trade deadline. Does anyone else feel like it's a holiday?
  24. If we were to keep him - I sure don't like his 8.65 million dollar price tag for next season.
  25. With 2 hours left before the deadline, the Chicago white sox aquired Luke Scott. With 28 minutes left before the deadline the Chicago white sox aquired Zack Greenke --- that's what I'm hoping for in the next 48 hours
