I like this from Fegan in his recent Atlantic article… While Grifol is a first-time major-league manager, he is described by friends and colleagues as a baseball lifer who has served in almost every conceivable role during his tenures with the Mariners and Royals — scout, farm director, minor-league manager, roving minor-league instructor, quality control coach, bench coach, catching coach and hitting coach. Hahn said the new manager will play a central role in determining their coaching staff, and those close to Grifol expect him to bring along previous associates. A potential name to watch is Royals special assignment hitting coach Mike Tosar, since he worked closely with Grifol during breakout power-hitting seasons for Jorge Soler and Salvador Perez.

Why? He’s only here one more season, if that.

1,000,000,000 times this. For at least a decade my father and I went to every away game the Sox played in LA. We went to the park 4 hours before each game and waited 2 hours after each game. On the way into the park Frank ALWAYS asked people there to line up and he made it a point to sign for every single person in line, often standing there for a hour. He was a very very kind man.

Oh the pain.

If I was in any of their locations I’d do it just to fulfill a dream of working for the Sox and “being a part of the team.” You’re right, it would be long hours and piss pay at first but it could easily turn into one of the best jobs you could ever ask for.

I’m not gonna lie… I don’t hate the idea of Ozzie… Much rather would prefer about 4 or 5 other folks but I could manipulate my mind into getting behind it. On one hand it would be a disappointment for sure but…. I like he has rapport with the players, he had his moments with us before shitting the bed…. And I think the potential for him having something to prove would go along with the players also having something to prove. He did a good job of demanding players play hard… I’m pretty sure he speaks Spanish even.

Certainly possible considering these asshats.

Another way would be: they’re trying to squash this until the playoffs are over so it’s not a focus. Knowing this fucking organization - uh… they don’t have my trust.
