QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) The Twins are probably going to catch us. I hope they do

Paging ptatc. Page Dr. ptatc. Please report to the consultation room, dr. ptatc.

If the season ended today they'd have the 12th pick next draft. Watch / Listen / Care in hopes they lose every game from here on out - hoping that they draft well in 2017. Hoping that such a disappointing year would force Jerry to clean house. Root for the young guys, hope that they develop. Hope that the new guard goes into the offseason and makes good trades to right the ship. That's as sound of an argument as I can come up with logically. Emotionally, I will ALWAYS be a white sox fan who watches, listens, and cares because it is in my DNA. For better or for worse. Edit: poop.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:43 PM) Do you really think a basket case would mix in the haven for mental midgets? The Sox don't seem like a place to reform problem players. As if it would really matter... How could this team get worse by having another subordinate personality on board?

They should have traded him to us for Avi.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) and a partridge in a pear tree You aren't asking for much are you? I am interested in this kids defense and his speed. I think Shuck did a decent job filling in for Jackson but was starting to falter Just being realistic about what's needed to be a good team, man.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) They released a downdate yesterday that all but killed any possibility of fun. I immediately uninstalled and requested a refund for any money I spent on in-app purchases. Back on topic: I don't know what to make of the Hahn presser. Ugh. I thought for sure we would be able to move D-Rob, Melky, and maybe a few others. Is there anywhere us out of towners can watch the Hahn press online?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Hopefully he works out, it would make the only real hole they would technically have to plug up be C. Uh... And DH and a bullpen who doesn't lead the league in BS.... And a third baseman who has a OBP above .300... And a first baseman who can slug over .750... And an outfield who projects to hit more than 25 home runs COMBINED. This team is in deep dodo - even if Tilson lights the world on fire and is rookie of the universe.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) Would love to have done what the Yankees did This

I'll give them until April 2017 before I join the lynch mob but boy - what a completely unsurprising utter disappointment

Unacceptable to only trade one guy.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) I'd rather hang out with my son than hope (for an hour) that my favorite baseball team's FO finally gets it right. Same. Selfishly I do wanna refresh the s*** outta Soxtalk until the deadline Somethings going to happen

This sucks... I pick up my son in 15 minutes. The last hour of the deadline when all the action pours in - I'll be tied up. Gurrrr

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:33 AM) Wouldn't mind those deals. I'd prefer E Rod over Swihart though even if we had to take a lower rated prospect than Kopech. Clearly these next ~12 hours need to go by quickly so we can all stop taking wild stabs in the dark and move on with life.

QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:22 AM) Sounds good to me. Sale for Urias, De Leon, Bellinger, Puig, and Pederson. Get on it Hahn! Include Melky if you need to for LA. Then Q for Benintendi, Devers, Swihirt, and Kopech.

QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:13 AM) I'm not sold on De Leon. Urias is definitely the key, but just him and De Leon isn't enough for me for Sale who's a top 5 pitcher in the game, who's only 27, and has a team friendly contract. That is worth a TON. Oh, Peterson too

QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:42 AM) Reading that the Dodgers are making a late push with a package around Urias and De Leon. If the Red Sox are unwilling to part with Moncada, I say you make the deal if you can add two of Bellinger, Calhoun, or Verdugo http://chavezravinefiends.sportsblog.com/p...chris-sale.html We'll go ahead and take Puig off the hands for s***s and giggles too.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:00 AM) I'm OK with the trade. Here's hoping Tilton is the next Lou Brock. Could be a steal. Could be a bust. I'm OK with finding out. Not a bad trade as I disliked Duke. I'm OK with him. I just feel St. Louis wouldn't trade him for Duke if they hadn't decided he was nothing special. A second round pick? It's obvious they've soured on him. Again, they'd want a lot more than Duke if they felt he could play. They... Have... Outfield... Depth.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Last year I had like 250 posts on deadline day, copy-pasted over 100 insider tweets here, etc... I do plan on doing it again tomorrow. One of my favorite times of the year honestly Make it an annual thing and create a thread for it each year. Something like The Annual Jose Abreu Deadline Stream.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) Let's see Tilson play first. We'll probably have that chance real soon. I wouldn't be surprised if he is ranked ahead of both May and Engel, at least this year. Already is. Rated #5 prospect in our system

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 06:12 PM) Day before the deadline and I am seeing Wade Miley and Derek Norris tweets. Sigh Deadline day blow up explosion coming soon

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) Duke is just another body. He's nothing special. The outfielder we got obviously is a bust to this date or St. Louis wouldn't have traded him. This will probably be his final chance to be a starter in the bigs. Uh... The kid just turned 23 and is done pretty damn good at his first AAA stint. He hasn't even debuted in the bigs from what I read - you're making pretty emotionally driven speculative statements here dude.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) But if Hahn walks away from the table with a team that is stumbling after the All Star break, had an embarassing situation w his star player this week, the crosstown rivals are headed to the post-season and all he has to show is a 4th outfielder for his efforts at the deadline, he may be feeling the heat. You kind of leave out that whole part where he'd also walk into the Winter Meetings with baseballs two biggest trade chips, still.
