Eckstein a Card
i dont know why we want cora... i mean, the guy has hit .286 over the last 3 years against LHP BUT.... thats only in 133 AB..... last year in 46 AB's he only hit .240 against LHP no thanks, his OBP is good but that is because last year he got hit by pitches at an amazingly flukey rate... 16 times all year i just dont get it adios

ive watched eckstein play for his entire carrer ive always hated him because he is such a good player and a good leader... with a huge heart.... all great things.... if he was on the sox all along, i would have loved him.. but going to see the angels play the sox and seeing this guy get the most rise out of the crowd... work his ass off on every single play... and bring life to the other players/crowd was a sigth to see.... all angels fans LOVE this kid.... hes honestly like the rudy of baseball his numbers dont indacate how valuable he is. just out of cursity.... what are his numbers vs. LHP....anyone? peace -t

Rumors thread
i dont think i would give the helm to gload, i think that with the loss of maggs, lee, and possibly hurt for part of the year... we need pauls bat more then we would need the couple of wins more vasquez might give us vs. garland.

Cheer Up
wow, i forgot that we had that rotation going into 2004... eek... i cant believe how much better our pitching staff is now
-
projected wins by our rotation
i dont think its silly at all to think that all 5 could get at least 10... you said JC would get 9... thats only 1 away from saying all 5 would have double digit wins kind of a contradiction? i see what your saying, but i think your not giving the count enough credit... thats cool thou, he'll suprise the hell out of you IMHO.

Konerko Article
i dont see why johnson wouldnt accept a freaking trade here.... i mean, if i saw a pitching rotation like ours... and was the dominating ace johnson is.... i would be like... "if i was on this team would we be able to contend for a world series?" and then in my best nepoliean dynomite impression i would say out loud: "HECK YEAH!" i mean, just blah... come on randy you bum. if i wasnt feeling a bit nicer today, id tell him the eat a dick... but, i dont think i will.... go screw yourself unit yeah, thats nicer

projected wins by our rotation
Mark B. - 17 Garcia - 18 Duque - 7 (if healthy for 1/2 season or less) or 16 if healthy for the season Jose Contreras - 15 i think he will have his break out year, hes got the stuff to do it and will find it in 2005 garland - 13 will have his best season by far this year, and will have a lot of indecesions, and will keep us in a lot of games.

WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
from the twins MLB board "After garcia and buehrle, you guys are counting on health and streaky journeymen. I'll take Santana, Radke, Silva, Lohse, and Mays, thanks." "They signed el duque, pending a physical, to a 2 year 8 million dollar deal, 12 mil with incentives. Their rotation is now garcia-buerhle-el duque-conteras-garland. One of the best rotation in the MLB in my opinion, until the yanks figure out a way to get RJ." "On paper, I gotta admit those names look good." "Jon Garland hardly has established himself as a good Major league pitcher. As it stands now do not surprised if the S***Sox finish ahead o fthe Twinkies. It is not looking too good for the local club. It pains me to say that the SLUM Sox very well coould overtake the Twinkies. As a matter of fact it makes me naseous." "The big IF for the Twins will be JC Romero. IF he can return to form. The Twins Balfour/Rincon/Romero/Crain/Nathan is every bit as good as the Sox, if not better. Unfortunately, Romero is a headcase who is also the only viable lefty the Twins have. Expecting a guy whom management lost all confidence in the final month of the season to return to form (whatever that may be; 2002 is looking more like an aberration) is asking an awful lot. Comparing the 2 pens, No one in the AL Central can match the Twins for power pitching out of the bullpen. And no one can match the Frisbees that Takatsu throws for Chicago."

WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
its a lot too ask for.. but honestly, its not out of reach burly can win 20 games, we all know he has the abilty garcia has the abiliy to be a 20 game winner contreras has the ability to be a 20 game winner but hasnt shown it, so 15 games isnt too much to ask garland should win at least 12 games with the ability to win 18 duque could win 20 but will probably win at least 12.... so at worst we have about... 77 wins.... at best we have... 89 those numbers are really lose but if we can get about 80 wins out of our startes GREAT... and if we can get 90 wins out of our starters, we are playoff bound i like our chances and ill take them over any pitching staff we have had in the last decade good job KW..... a good base stealing theart from hell that can lead off with good defence, a great bullpen arm, and a starter for one player... rock on..... BRING IT im ready, lets start the season tomarrow

WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
im all about signing el duque and having extra money to go after another hole in our roster... i think this is the best thing KW could have done... i like this even more then him siging Clement.... because now we have some room for more moves and a pitcher that could possibily out preform clement... and that isnt a biased statment we might just gave the best starting rotation in the majors ladies and gents.. i know its hard pressed... but just think about it.... what would happen if.... burly has 20 wins garci has 20 wins garland has 15 wins contrares has 15 wins duque has 15 wins wow... if that happens, look out! thats at least 85 wins garented! with our bullpen being solid id give them another fifteen wins... thats 100 wins... looks like we have a huge upside, and if it works out, we are ALCS contenders thats all im asking for, is a chance.
