  1. So I'm on someone else's Facebook status and this dude comes in doing what I suppose he considers "dropping knowledge" by citing a bunch of 5th grade science as if it's some kind of big secret the government is covering up with a conspiracy to promote the idea of climate change... lol. Like the fact that "climate change has always existed" because the earth used to be scalding hot billions of years ago, and that the moon had crashed into earth, and the 24 hour rotation is gradually slowing down. I'm like uhh yeah none of this has much to do with anything, dude. Humanity's only existed on earth for a tiny, tiny fraction of Earth's total existence. All the other stuff is pretty much what the life of planets is, and yes, earth will eventually die, a couple billion years from now. Come on now.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) "So when you gonna let me hit it?" lol. Yeah remember the replies I got to that? That's what I mean by being able to get away with anything
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) how about an increase in nuclear power? off shore drilling? other attempted energy policies/changes they didn't care for? I think the democrats would support offshore drilling if the Republicans would get on board with serious, non half-assed alternative energy investment. The official Republican answer to energy seems to be "drill in ANWR and we'll have oil for centuries and be completely energy-independent at no cost to the environment"
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) I love that when the Repubs do this it's evil, but when liberals do it it's standing up for what they believe in... True, but what Maddow pointed out in that video (and what Obama said in the Q&A that I keep referencing) is that they can't claim they're standing up for what they believe in if the policy proposal is something they said was a good idea or officially supported before the Obama administration proposed it, when they suddenly decided it was evil, unconstitutional, and destined to destroy the American economy and way of life. She gave several specific examples in that video. I guess I could take that claim at face value if they were giving serious, constructive ideas, which some are, and actually supported them when the administration or the Democratic party agrees that they're good ideas and tries to do something with them.
  5. Girls really, really like it when you make them feel sexy and give them positive attention (not to the point of being a "simp" or looking like a p**** though... it's a general rule that doesn't have that many exceptions). If you can pull this off you can get away with saying pretty much anything (within reason). I did this before I got married and after, although I'm sure that the reason I can pull off some of these things is because I'm married and women know I'm mostly joking around and don't see me as an actual "threat." But still, I could pull lots of women if I wanted... I never had a problem in that department.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) I would recommend living together to any couple who are thinking about getting married someday. ^^I love my wife but living with her is really annoying at times. Some stuff I know can't be helped, like how I burn through toilet paper 5x as fast because there are 2 females in the house, other stuff not so much, like... well too many to mention, a bunch of small s*** that drives me crazy.
  7. I had a friend who recreated David Tyree's catch in Madden. At least he admitted to having too much time on his hands.
  8. He must be praying for my death too if that's his only criteria. What an embarrassment to Christianity... seriously. Actually can you really even qualify him as a Christian?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 12:10 PM) <!--quoteo(post=2083528:date=Feb 10, 2010 -> 11:51 AM:name=lostfan)-->QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 11:51 AM) <!--quotec-->I forgot to post this a few days ago but did anyone catch Sarah Palin saying it was ok for Rush Limbaugh to call people "retards" because it was "satire" and that justifies her calling for Emanuel's resignation? lol. That's f***ing pathetic. The Colbert Report Mon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c Sarah Palin Uses a Hand-O-Prompter www.colbertnation.com Colbert Report Full Episodes Political Humor Economy I saw that... lol.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 10:11 AM) This is a pretty good 10 minutes. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy bald-faced hypocrisy. Not anything I didn't already know, but nice. The caucus truly and honestly doesn't care about actual governing, and even policies they think are good they'll just vote against. Obama called them out at the Q&A too, they really don't care though.
  11. I have fiber-optic service at home (typing on it now matter of fact) and it's pretty much everything that they claim it is.
  12. I forgot to post this a few days ago but did anyone catch Sarah Palin saying it was ok for Rush Limbaugh to call people "retards" because it was "satire" and that justifies her calling for Emanuel's resignation? lol. That's f***ing pathetic.
  13. Even if some of his ideas are completely absurd, like going back to the gold standard, at least he knows what he actually stands for. I think these guys are just like modern Republicans, they just want to TALK about saying "no" and then when they see something they like, completely bend over and blame Democrats for any adverse effect (especially concerning the deficit)
  14. For as many things that Ron Paul believes that I don't agree with, at least his governing philosophy is coherent and consistent and he can actually explain it to you. Tea Partiers, not so much.
  15. The tea partiers think Ron Paul is too extreme? WTF? These guys don't have any idea what they actually want whatsoever.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) Honestly, I ate my crow already, but to all of you rubbing it in, you have to admit that the commercial was so incredibly tame that it didn't even get a message across. It isn't as if they pulled it off in a respectful way such as some here apparently envisioned. That's true, it really didn't. They got their free hype in though.
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/americas...-weather-cities South Bend, IN Average Annual Temperature: 49.5°F Average Precipitation: 39.7 inches Average Snowfall: 70.9 inches After today we will have had more than 70 inches for the season. Pretty absurd, this, just unprecedented for the area. I think Baltimore's average annual snowfall is 10 inches, maybe less.
  18. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:40 PM) Did you go out and buy your step-daughter a nice, new, shovel? I want to. I should.
  19. lol. I'll just put it in my carryon luggage. I don't even own a lawnmower let alone a snowblower
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) Welcome to winter! Buy a snowblower - your neighbors could pay it off in one week by hiring you to clean their driveways. It's probably never going to do this again in my life here and plus I live in a townhouse and wouldn't have anywhere to put it.
  21. So tomorrow is forecast for another 10-20 inches of snow tomorrow (it will be the same storm that hits the Midwest apparently). If the last 2 storms are any indication, by about 1 pm tomorrow they'll upgrade it to 15-22 inches and then it will be about 2 more feet. So... 50 inches in about 4 days... yeah. Just not things that happen every year. This is getting ridiculous
  22. Really wasn't my favorite, but R.I.P.
