So I had a couple of piles of snow in front of my car and I had a path cleared for me and my wife, and my neighbor just shoveled his spot out and piled all his snow on top of it so I have to walk all the way around like 4 or 5 cars... douchebag.

How about Denzel's character from Training Day. It's not clear at first whether he's good or bad

I don't think anybody would even have the balls to ask for Jordan's 23.

Records are the last thing I look at when it comes to QBs. It's like wins for a pitcher. Yes, QB is by far the most important position on the field. But there are also a ton of variables that go into whether the team actually wins or loses. Like yesterday for instance, Manning's pick 6 hurt a lot and came at a horrible time but you really can't, and shouldn't, point to one play in ANY game and say "that's why Team X won/lost the game." Until that point he was pretty much flawless. I saw Favre mentioned by the way... he's had 3, maybe 4 years straight where his last play of the season was an interception.

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) What do I think it means? That they (I hate saying "they" since it's not one group of people) changed the definition because they didn't want to be wrong and get called out. The term "global warming" was never accurate and is misleading. Balta could explain that much better than I could

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) In Super Bowl 36, he threw for a whopping 145 yards & the offense scored 13 points, while his defense scored on a pick-six and held one of the best offenses of the decade to 17 points and caused 3 TO's. And moving into FG range against a soft zone defense is not really that impressive... Joe Montana actually had to throw TDs at least

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) Well now they're backpedaling and calling it "global climate change". That was they can explain off the blizzards, hard freezes, etc. So, as soon as it snows in Cuba they'll say, "We told you so." Then we can say, "No, Roland Emmerich told us so." The term "climate change" doesn't mean what you appear to think it means

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) 2+ feet of snow from one storm is a lot of snow no matter where it is. The President's aid making a quip saying that the weather was like an April day in Chicago is funny but far from accurate. I think Chicago averages around 40" of snow a year. The lake snow belts are the places that routinely get hammered, and 2+ feet of snow there would not as big a deal of course. Regardless, treacherous travel conditions will result and everything slows down. I lived in Juneau, AK for over two years, and I saw plenty of snow. The last winter I was there there was over 3 feet of snow on the ground twice. Once there was over 4 feet on the ground. It was funny how people almost shrugged it off as if it was nothing. But, there was only one major storm that dropped about 20" at once. That slowed things down. Having lived in Baltimore for about 2 years as well, I know how even 3" cripples that area. They just don't have the snow removal capacity that places like Chicago do. Plus, people who live there freak out like it's a blizzard. I couldn't imagine what it was like to see 2+ feet. They're perfectly capable of handling 3" of snow removal, they're just p*****s.

Did you see Brady's last playoff game where his normally outstanding supporting cast and the well-oiled machine didn't pick up any slack?

Tim Tebow to appear in anti-abortion Super Bowl ad

QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) Considering the amount of publicity the ad got before it ever ran, I think they got their $3M worth. Yeah and the gay dating ad that got rejected had more or less the same plan, they knew it was going to be rejected and they saved a couple million in the process. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 08:20 AM) They know they like the idea that they can say anything they support is included in the constitution and everything they don't support is unconstitutional and likely communism. This Onion article sums up a lot of those people perfectly, especially considering it's a satire article. Area Man Passionate Defender of What He Imagines Constitution To Be

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) Seriously? I don't see why you guys try to have this charade of being independents. I don't have a charade... I'm sympathetic to a lot of right-wing ideas but everyone knows I fall mostly left of center, it's not really a secret.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Yeah, I am saving that picture for about 10 years from now when my kids start hitting that age. It's pretty awesome.

Oh, and also my stepdaughter came outside to play around and was basically being useless, she wouldn't help and I told her if she wasn't going to at least attempt to do something then get out of my way. It was pissing me off b/c I shouldn't have to tell a 12 year old to pull her weight around the house but she stood around and mockingly pretended to give motivational speeches until I told her get out of my face. Then a couple hours ago she starts laughing and saying what a nice day it was "especially if you sat in the house and did nothing all day." I told her that was f***ing insulting, to STFU, and be mindful of how she was behaving next time she asked me for something. That finally got to her because she got really quiet. Short of slapping her in the face or something I can't MAKE her do anything and my wife wasn't helping at all... ugh

So I spent several hours this afternoon digging my car and my wife's car out after the blizzard and I feel like I got gang-raped after a bar fight right now. While I was out there shoveling my wife came out, and my neighbor commented (probably jokingly) that I was selfish and I'm supposed to dig my wife's car out first. lol... wtfever. Mind you, my wife hadn't done s*** at all but she still had the nerve to start smiling and agree. I handed her the shovel and sat down.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Prince, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen? That was rhetorical

Not that I think The Who is not good music but ever since we saw Janet Jackson's nipple, it feels like it's too much to ask for to get an artist who's had a hit single since I was born (1982)

Tim Tebow to appear in anti-abortion Super Bowl ad
lostfan replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
Yeah that was a very inoffensive, non-controversial commercial, to the point where the message wasn't even obvious... honestly it made everyone who made such a big deal out of it look kind of foolish. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) CBS has always been the absolute best station when it comes to sports. Not only is the quality of their broadcast far superior to that of FOX, but their ability to cover the game itself and stick with that alone really sets them apart. I love watching sports on CBS. Fox overproduces the s*** out of everything. You can end up forgetting to watch the actual game sometimes.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Another terrible year for commercials. I thought the one with LeBron and Dwight Howard that was the new take on the Jordan/Bird commercials was pretty awesome, especially with the cameo by Bird at the end. That and "keep your hands off my mama"

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) Honestly I am amazed at how few big snowfalls Chicago has actually gotten. It is amazing how different it is on the other side of the lake. We have had a snowfall this winter that is bigger than the 1967 fall, and it isn't unusual. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/winter/chi_sno_hist.php I've seen 30 inches of snow on the ground growing up, but never in a short period of time like this. Never been inside an actual blizzard before.

Half the status updates in my Facebook news feed are females that are suddenly Saints fans probably because they have a crush on Reggie Bush and I bet some didn't even know New Orleans had a football team until last week... good for the Saints but I'm not pretending to be all excited. I'm not a Saints fan... you won't hear me jumping up screaming "who dat"

I might be in the minority here but I thought this game was pretty boring.

And Soxfest? lol I'm moving it back to PHT, I don't know why it's in this forum actually.
