  1. QUOTE (heirdog @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Joe Borchard has light-tower power. When I play in my soft-ball league, I generate a lot of power by throwing my hips at the ball. I'm fishing for "lostfan" to go all BearSox two-sport athlete on me. Because I played DB in football and had a 4.4 40 time I averaged about 2 SBs a game. Didn't need power.
  2. I was pretty pissed when I had to take a literature class when I thought I was done with English classes. God I hated that class so much and I gained zero from it except 4 months of misery. I was cool with taking another elective but I hated being told that I had to choose from THAT narrow range of classes.
  3. Republicans invited Barack Obama to the event House Republican Retreat. Barack Obama invited House Republicans to the event School. hahahahaha
  4. I should start posting those in their own threads, they're hilarious to anyone, not just Dems.
  5. Yeah I was going to say that the Founding Fathers didn't just decide once and for all what the US government was going to be like forever at that exact moment and there was never anything resembling a consensus either. s*** even Thomas Jefferson went against his principles at certain points.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Farts are always funny. QFT
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) You also have to think they'd sign or trade for a stopgap QB. I highly doubt they'd go with Curtis Painter for an entire season. I'm just talking strictly about his value as a player.
  8. I had to read it a few times before I saw it... lol. So, not proud of the women with men in them?
  9. I was just trying to make a point that it "being allowed" doesn't mean it's correct or even worth a goddamn. It doesn't mention filibustering anywhere in the Senate but it says somewhere in the Constitution (I don't know where, I haven't read the full text in a while and it may have been a Supreme Court decision a couple hundred years ago actually) that the houses of Congress make their own rules. I think one of the things we can all agree on without any difficulty is that just because the Senate or House is allowed to do something doesn't mean they know what the f*** they're doing. If it doesn't work (and clearly the current procedures aren't working, it's embarrassing to watch as an American see my government make a joke of itself) then s***can it and find a better way.
  10. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) It is constitutional, whether you or I like it or not. Next. I didn't even imply it wasn't unconstitutional, you're just making s*** up
  11. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) How many of the Gang of 14 are still around? I would not for one two basic reasons. It is within our country's rules. To be fair, I've supported whichever side wants to do everything legal to get their agenda passed. I believe good and just representatives will either step up, as they did with the gang of 14, or voters will send a sharp message to those that operate in a manner they disagree with. For s***s and giggles, search for the word "filibuster" in the Constitution http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) this is pretty rich, douchebag senator from a douchebag state doing douchebag policies to get some douchebag projects becomes the democrats fault for completely unrelated reasons. lol. Seriously. Anyone who argues in support of this for any reason is full of s***. Sorry. There's not any way around it or any other way of interpreting it.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 06:46 PM) I can't. As long as the building is still full every game and the tv ratings are through the roof despite heading downhill on the field, they really have no reason to think otherwise. I'm talking about Bears fans being stupid. I gave up on them about 2 years ago. I'm kind of embarrassed that I have to be associated with a lot of them actually.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) The Bears have made two things crystal clear in the last few weeks, starting with that joke of a press conference where they pretended to be mad and make massive changes. 1. They don't care about winning or their fans. 2. They think their fans are stupid. Well... how can you blame them for that one
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) Well, they'd have been drafting pretty highly for the last decade without him, so who knows. I don't mean if they never drafted Manning, I mean, say he has a severe leg injury in the preseason at the beginning of this year.
  16. The Colts are probably a 6-10 team without Manning.
  17. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Has something to do with the curvature of the Earth I assume. Silly sheep, you believe that government conspiracy?
  18. In the Dem thread wasn't it? Can't really blame 101 for not combing through that beast
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) I think its gonna be a barnburner Unlike some of the past Saints and Colts teams, both of them actually have at least respectable defenses, so I don't know.
  20. We can have our Super Bowl chatter here.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Putting Williams at RT was never an intelligent move IMO. I thought putting Pace at RT made more sense. Yeah and then predictably, he fails, and everyone says Chris Williams is a bust. I have no idea why they had Pace at LT. Pride? Reputation? Ego?
  22. You're pretty much a dumbass if you throw Alexei a first pitch fastball and you deserve to get burned.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 10:01 AM) Not sure where to put this, since we don't have a "Tea Party" thread... Apparently, the Tea Party Nation is currently having its first "official" convention. The keynote speaker is Tom Tancredo. Here are some of this comments: And, the reaction from the party organizers: Tancredo is too hateful even for that crowd. How did that guy ever get elected to anything? And is this Tea Party movement, overall, going to be good or bad for the GOP? It's kind of being infiltrated by the GOP actually. I wonder how many people actually notice this is happening? It's politically smart for the GOP though.
  24. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) I'd like to know why I was nominated as a "GOP Poster" on this site...I'm not a republican. I hate them as much as I hate democrats. :/ For the same reason I am nominated as a Dem poster. I'm not really a Dem but I can understand why someone would put me in that category.
