  1. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 2, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Why the hell not? Are you trying to start crap here with everyone? You should be the last person to argue with people over wording. You are calling people tools for using pet names and do it in other threads. I knew what school Winslow went to, I was thinking Miami and accidentally typed Florida. It was a simple mistake. I knew what I was thinking and most of the other people in the thread didn't seem too worried when I made a faux pas. You really need to relax. Whoa, that's about a 9 on the intensity scale there. Everyone just be cool.
  2. Good thing we never hired Dusty Baker.
  3. Exorcise the Judy demons. Congrats Jon.
  4. In 2002, the Royals won 62 games. They went 10-9 against a poor Cleveland team, and 10-9 against the 55-win Tigers. They also went 8-11 vs. the Sox and 7-2 vs. Texas. They also managed a 9-game win streak somehow. The 2005 Royals have a much worse offense than that team and play in a vastly improved division. There's a good chance they'll be right around 50 or so.
  5. Wow I'm shocked. A relief pitcher and a damn good one felt he needed to gain the performance edge. The biggest name suspended to date by far.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) I have those wireless routers in my house. I have the Lynksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G (top pic) for the main PC of the house, which has the cable modem. Then, in the PC upstairs, the secondary PC, I have the NIC (Network Interface Card) card with the antenna (2nd pic). Fortunately, we didn't need any expanders/deflectors. Only negative about it is that when the house phone rings, the waves ntercept the signal and you lose cennection until the phone hangs up. Ahhh, 2.4 GHz sucks. So many frequencies and 802.11 has to use the same one.
  7. I bet Hawk ran into the booth, pants around his ankles, to try and stop DJ from making his HR call. When Hawk retires, we'll be known as the team with the annoying announcer that goes "UH OH, UH OH, BYE BYE".
  8. It's got all the makings of Grinder Rule #167
  9. The rule works alot better if you say every team wins 50 and loses 50.
  10. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Wait, isn't James Earl Jones in the movie? I saw him in the commercial playing the same character..Does it still take place in the 60's? Apparently it continues in the 60's where the first one left off. More like a remake since obviously the actors will all be different.
  11. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) The Sandlot 2? Is Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez back or is he retired cause the first one takes place in the 60's Maybe it's his son.
  12. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Focking Timo....take that you b****es DETROIT SUCKS DETROIT SUCKS DETROIT SUCKS What is the attendance today? I am not getting the game on TV... 20K
  13. Why did he retire in the first place? I can't imagine no one wanted to sign him after what he showed in Milwaukee.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) I have the game now, and I have a question. If I have a guy on 1st, and say I'm Morneau at the plate, how do I not go for a steal when I press up and right, trying to hit a homer as the batter? The d-pad is for steals, the stick is for trying to hit homers.
  15. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) you have him on your fantasy team, can i ask why? .297 .366 now. Career .302 .382. He's consistent as hell.
  16. Gotta love Contreras. He'd rather walk four batters in a row than give up a solo homerun.
  17. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) It looks like Crede is about to spit on the ump. He's Froeming at the mouth.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) Dick Bremer's was the best...something along the lines of... 'Thomas hits it deep, and this one will stay fair, and the White Sox win' Best part of it was that you couldn't hear him saying and the White Sox win. His voice had just faded into the noise of the crowd. That was probably my favorite game from that season. Konerko, hitting like .180, pinch hits, and hits a game-tying homer. Just incredible. On Konerko's homer, Dick just says "I don't believe it," in a defeated tone.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) It's definitely there. I remember reading about that on here a while ago, and never noticed it. Now with it in mind, I saw the commercial the other day, and there it was. Pretty funny. Someone in their marketing department has a sick sense of humor.
  20. QUOTE(Nokona @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) I'd hate him if he wasn't apart of my fantasy team. Ditto. Remember that game against the Sox when Eckstein bunted it off his face in his first AB and stayed in the game?
  21. You have no one worse than Bagwell on your roster to drop? I have him on my bench because I do believe the Astros offense will heat up when Berkman returns.
  22. Sung to the tune of "_________________" ? Otherwise it's just a poem that doesn't rhyme well.
  23. Hit and runs turn double play balls into RISP 1 out or sometimes 1st and 3rd nobody out. Why don't we do it any more? Ozzie is managing this offense like the 2004 Sox.
  24. Someone bump Heather's old thread, I'm f***ing pissed at this team.
