  1. KW told me these losses are just part of the plan to get back "under the radar" from whence we can again begin our stealthy climb to the top.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) No. No. No. No. You do NOT trade the youngest, and cheapest pitcher who has more potential than the entire pitching staff. Yeah I wouldn't do it either but I can't say the same for our GM. Wow, we suck right now. Maybe I should just stop watching til the Cubs series.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) The problem with that is it moves BMac, thus far the most reliable guy in the bullpen, into the rotation. Or it moves BMac off of the team? Maybe if we get like an entire bullpen for him.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Exactly, cause we had thrown the same pitch about 5 times to him that AB. It's easy to look for that pitch when Politte has no fastball left. Sweeney could just as easily have homered off of Politte's B- fastball trying to challenge him inside. That is one of the few certainties in this universe.
  5. QUOTE(downstairs @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) I don't know if anyone here knows their way through this stuff... but I've been looking for this forever and cannot find it. I am writing a program for personal/non-commercial use. I'd like to feed it live baseball scores. So I need some sort of source I can "grab". I'm open to anything: XML, RSS, text, whatever... I have to believe this stuff exists. Of course they'd only allow personal use of it (like any XML feed), which is fine. I found something close at FoxSports.com... but it doesn't seem to work perfectly, and doesn't seem "live". I don't know of any XML feed which updates that frequently for free. Let me know if you find one though, that could come in handy.
  6. There were some red carpet photos of her a few months back that raised more than a few eating disorder suspicions. Her and Duchovny have both expressed interest in a new X-Files movie not connected to the previous storyline. Looking at Gillian Anderson now, I don't see how this will ever happen.
  7. This guy has a Final Four of LSU, UCLA, GMU and Florida. He might be the only guy on all of Yahoo that picked it.
  8. And if Florida does make it, it will be the first Final Four without a single Big East or ACC team in my lifetime. Can't say I thought this would be the year that would happen.
  9. Luckily no one in my office pool has Nova winning it all so UConn losing doesn't really hurt me.
  10. It seems like George is making every shot they take. Unbelievable.
  11. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) Ill be there...Just bought 2 tickets for this game on EBAY for $60 total. Then I bought 2 tickets for Wednesday's game for $11.50 total on EBAY. WTF?? Did you buy them from Cub fans?? Who else would be dumb enough to sell them for so little?
  12. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) I was just trying to come up with something comparable, since you asked for it. To stay more along the line of leading the whole game...Illinois/OSU, last year. Undefeated season gone after leading entire game as well. And snb and i were there. I'm pretty sure it was the same PBP guy for both games. I hate how he just screams whenever someone takes a shot in the last few minutes of a ballgame. I think he was one of those kids that never "got" microphones. And God forbid, if the shot actually goes in, mute your television for the next few seconds.
  13. B H Kim strikes again. Master of giving up the famous homerun.
  14. Should be interesting to see Ichiro's approach in the #3 hole. Japan has known no worse shame than losing 3 times in a tournament to Korea.
  15. Better to go down fighting than on the altar to UConn next week.
  16. Well in the NCAA, you can't beat a team 3 times in a season. Can Korea beat Japan three times in the same tournament? I'm sure Ichiro probably thinks so.
  17. Japan really deserves this anyways.
  18. I just caught the replay of Papi's homerun vs. Cuba. That bat flip was ridiculous and he appeared to have words for the Cuban catcher too.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Have you seen that SNL skit? Who can forget Horatio Sanz as Don Zimmer? I know I never will.
  20. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) Not only does the seed blow, but as such where are we playing? Auburn Hills? Dayton? Nope, wonderful San Diego. If we were a 2 or 3, we'd be in one of those places most likely. Also, a 2 or 3 in that bracket would give an additional team the chance to beat Uconn before we'd possibly face them. There you have it. Location, seed, prolonging an inevitable meeting with the powerhouse? I'd give up all those things for a weaker bracket. I'm mostly against the exaggerated "We always get screwed over" type posts which I keep reading. As if we were the only underseeded team ever in NCAA history and only high-seeded team to ever play far from home.
