Marlins trade Buehrle, Josh Johnson, Reyes plus others to Blue Jays
Money aside I'm sure that's not what Mark imagined going to play for Ozzie in MIA.

First big move of the offseason prediction contest
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) We've always got Brent Morel. He also seems to be completely healthy.

How much are you willing to offer Josh Hamilton?
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 02:18 AM) I have to admit I'm a bit dumbfounded why seemingly everyone on this board is wanting to trade our MVP from last year for "salary relief", not even prospects!!?!?!. Obviously everyone must be expecting another 2011 from him. There seems to be a trend of thought here on SoxTalk that he is 'every other year' player.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 02:10 AM) QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 04:21 PM) Chicago meatheads really are the worst. Those f***ing idiots dressed as the Blues Brothers being shown on national television dropped the perception of the average Chicagoan even further. Those f***ing GEICO "DA BEARZ" commercials make me want to punch a wall, too. WHAT A BADASS!!!111!!1!

First big move of the offseason prediction contest
QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 12:16 AM) viciedo and floyd traded to san diego for headley and a minor league pitcher. Then we turn around and sign josh hamilton top play LF. I'd jizz myself and call it an offseason.

The Fittest Men of All-Time
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) Michael Phelps beats out Bruce Lee for the #1 spot. I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan. http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/fittest-men-ever Interesting.. BTW. When asked, Phelps said the rumored 10000 (not even 12K) calorie diet was false.. fyi.

4 Sox players are on the trading block
QUOTE (Carter224 @ Nov 10, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Headley will be 29 next season and is going to cash in within the next few years, what makes anyone think San Diego is going to hang on to him? Hes exactly the type of player they inevitably trade for an underwhelming package.. and they have that Gyorko kid in the wings

4 Sox players are on the trading block
QUOTE (scenario @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) I think the title should have been "24 Sox players are on the trading block." THANK YOU. Not even sure if most of you guys read the article.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 01:38 AM) Hearing he was loved in the clubhouse is surprising. Yup, I tried to follow up on that with Heyman, no luck..

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
@JonHeymanCBS 3B is #chisox area of focus, and they're talking to youkilis. They loved him in clubhouse. Indians, phils in mix.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 8, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) I can't imagine him getting anything near 8 figures and don't know if he would be willing to play 3b, but Marco Scutaro makes contact and gets on base. Unconventional numbers for a third baseman, but his OPS is generally in the upper .700s lately. Saw a tweet last night, saying Scutaro is open to playing 3B but his preference remains 2B. Hahn said a 3B and a LH bat remain a priority this offseason (no news here), maybe it will be the same guy. I think, like others have said, they will go after Youk and if this option doesn't pan out they will have to get creative.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) It can. Dayan was terrible at 3B. Like Kenny Williams bad. He also is does not bring a bat the way Miggy does.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 7, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) Chicagosports.com speculating the Sox might consider moving Viciedo back to 3rd base UGH. I'd be ok with that if they got Hamilton/Upton to play LF.

2012-2013 Sox off season Catch-All thread
In the latest ESPN INSIDER David Wright's future was being discussed, I believe it was Jim Bowden, who writes he should be able to sign an extension with the Mets, however if it didn't happen, he speculates 5 trade scenarios. Would anyone with ESPN insider access care to give us a quick summary? I'm interested if the White Sox were one of the 5 teams he mentioned.

Blogger Call: Open Discussion with Rick Hahn
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 10:45 PM) Yeah, I agree. Considering the Tigers are getting V-Mart back next year, and Scherzer breaking out, they should be a lock for 90+ wins (I know, I know, we all thought the same thing a year ago). Sox need an actual upgrade at 3B or SP. I agree, while getting a healthy John Danks back SHOULD be a tremendous SP upgrade, I was really hoping we can get better at 3B and C, the two positions that are wide open to fill. Bringing back Youk and letting Flowers play full time doesn't scream division champs to me. I'd want them to get creative and purse a 3B via trade, while signing Mike Napoli to play C. Next year Napoli can share 1B duties with Dunn after Paulie leaves and that creates lots of playing opportunities for Tyler Flowers.

2012 TV Thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Yes. The first few seasons were incredibly entertaining so I was going to at least give the final season a chance. How has this season been so far? I saw the premiere but that's about it.
