  1. Buster must not like Ozzie, anyhow he sounds pretty sure on this one.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 05:34 AM) Friday Match ups: Cardinals at Braves @ 4pm CT Lohse vs. Medlen Baltimore @ Texas at 7:30pm CT TBA vs. Darvish Go Braves, Go O's. I like Lohse, but Medlen might not lose a game this year. Now that I said that the exect opposite will happen.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 01:17 AM) How the hell did Romney do it? How did he win the first debate? Even the liberal media people admitted Romney did well. A couple of them like Chris Matthews still supported Obama (how can this guy have a job, fair and balanced??) while admitting he failed big time in the debate. Matthews said something like "Obama should have mentioned this, this this about Romney and how ridiculous that is, blah blah." It's hilarious how Matthews in his post-debate coverage kept trying to blast Romney, while admitting Romney kicked Obama's butt. Matthews was furious at his idol, Obama. So how did Obama fail so badly? He's normally very charming, etc. He looked tired and frankly kind of burned out. So WTF? I personally think he's tired of defending himself which is stupid considering the media is in love with him and his rare press conferences are all lovefests. So WHAT HAPPENED? And does Romney now win? Obama looked defensive, frustrated, unsure. Romney was aggressive, clear and was providing details about how his policies are gonna help this country. This is what I saw. Not a good showing by Obama at all, but I'm sure Romney had some practice during the Republican debates.
  4. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) Did he show that maybe he could be the left handed DH next year? Making dunn trade able? Whoa bro. I want him on the team but how about your first bat off the bench, versatile guy, who can play 1B/DH/OF. Thanks.
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) QUOTE (whitesox91403 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Frank did it against Boston several years ago as well. Quentin did it last year in Texas. Kalapse any thought about this season at all?
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) DJ and Hawk were phenomenal by the end of their run. Really want them reunited. I want DJ simply so he can rejoin Hawk on the HR call.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) Johnson's three home run adds insult to injury on the season. I mean before tonight when's the last time a Sox slugged 3 in a game? My guess would be Albert Belle. Dick Allen? Or ? Obviously that's the kind of production we could have used during 'The Great Collapse' Konerko hit 3 few years ago.
  8. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) Ahh. Gotcha. I think Oakland is gonna steamroll the Tigers. They are on fire rigt now. I hope so!
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Youk had some pretty strong comments relating to the attendance and being shocked that the Sox, despite being in a pennant race, were playing second fiddle to the Cubs. He's been saying that since he got here. I rather he not worry about the Cubs.
  10. Give me Johnson as insurance to Paulie, DH/1B/OF next year.

    2012 TV Thread

I could definitely see seasons 3 and 4 being dreadful.
  12. QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) In any draft there is only a marginal difference between the talent available at 16 and that available at 18. Next years draft is supposed to be pretty weak FWIW. Tell that to Mike Trout
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) A's are incredibly hot right now, gonna be a tough task for Detroit. Also Oakland has a better record than Detroit, why do they have to go on the road to start? Blame MLB. ALDS is played in 2 away 3 at home format for the higher seed this year. They had no time to make it 2-2-1 this year.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) Wow, I would love to see the actual quotes. That sounds a bit different indeed. Ditto! I'm gonna try to dig something up, also the game will be being replayed on CSN later tonight so I hope to catch some of it.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:19 PM) Give me Guthrie over Myers if the money is equal. With that said, I'm pretty happy with what KW said before the game today about spending money for next season. It was a different vibe than when he complains about the attendance, etc. He made it sound like the organization felt they had to spend money to get the team over the top, which would then equate to getting more fans out to the park. I'm really excited for offseason. Yikes the season has been over for less than an hour.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) I think he's a guy who could throw 200 innings in his sleep. Not sure if there would be better options for $10M. If you exercise that option, he must start.

    2012 TV Thread

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) I'm starting to think that SOA sucks now. QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) Seasons 3 and 4 were so bad that I haven't even thought about watching the new season. Glad to hear that's been justified. LOL. This season has been good so far, way better than seasons 3 and 4. Multiple posters stating that. You took the one negative in the thread an said you're glad that's been justified. LOL.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) I'd keep Floyd for next year. He's infuriating sometimes, but you know what you're getting at the end of the year. Sale Peavy Danks Floyd Santiago Quintana goes in a package trade for a bat. Dare I?
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Here's another flaw in the system... If the Yankees lose, the A's and Yankees will both be 94-68. They were 5-5 against each other, so then it goes to divisional record. Here's the problem...the A's only play 57 division games, while the Yankees play 72 games. So if the Yankees lose (and the Orioles lose), the division records are: A's: 33-24 (.579) Yankees: 40-32 (.556) I'm rooting for the Yankees and Orioles tonight, and hope the O's beat the Rangers on Friday. Does game 163 count as part of your record ?
  20. QUOTE (Real @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 05:35 AM) The in-town fans don't either. Oh wait, the economy is terrible in Chicago but nowhere else. Fact: Sox fans in Chicago couldn't care less about this team. The Sox could have made one game "Dollar night, all tickets $1.00" and the place would not have sold out. Stop b****ing when people rip the Sox fan base because it's THE worst large market fan base in baseball. How many games you been to this year ?
  21. Let's get Jimmy a ring, go O's! Can a mod edit the poll to add Tigers and Giants? This 2 team wildcard is messing me up.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 03:40 AM) They'd be better throwing me than either Floyd or Sale tomorrow. There's no reason to throw a guy who will either be traded or let go, and there's definitely no reason to throw a guy who you've been conservative with regards to innings all year. 1 day contract ala' Adam Greenberg. I'm calling Kenny right now.
