  1. Fair enough, I didn't mean to start an unnecessary argument. Here is to hoping Axelrod comes up and is serviceable and Humber figures it out for a repeat of last season's first half.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) So the White Sox are going to put a guy on the DL with a phantom injury, when they have nothing to really replace him with? I could understand if Danks was ready. But the Sox are going to take a guy like Humber, who was very good for the club last year, started the year strong, and as a whole has pretty good stuff, to replace/give up on him, for Dylan Axelrod? That makes no sense to me. Maybe if it was to give some time off for Danks, but not for Axelrod. Humber had a legit injury, when it started, I don't know, but lets not act like the Sox had better options. I'm assuming they tried to have him pitch through it, hoping it would work out and he'd get better, but he didn't. Worse yet, they didn't get Danks back so they finally had to make the decision to sit him and let him get better. But Humber has no options left so wasn't it either DL or DFA ? DLing him and letting him work on stuff is definitely not giving up on the guy! Just buying him so time and hoping he figures it out.
  3. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) Humber said he basically had no control of his pitches because of this injury. Certainly doesnt sound like a phantom injury to me. Then why did it take so long? And what else would you want him to say?
  4. This is simply a phantom injury. I'm sure Humber is fine.
  5. Talk about a pitchers duel, this game is flying by!
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 03:09 AM) But how close-minded is it to say that there could never be somebody better? That's boring as f***. I'm not saying LeBron will be better. But at his age (he's basically injury-proof), his skill-set, his physical prowess and what he's already accomplished, why the hell not? Outside of just not wanting it to happen? The talent/skill set is there.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 02:45 AM) This was inevitable. You don't put three talents of this caliber together in a league that eats, sleeps, drinks and s***s superstars and not win. I don't understand why anybody would suddenly lose interest now that the Heat have won. Sounds like sour grapes to me. As for LeBron, there's really nothing left to say. He's one of the ten best players to ever play the game and will likely garner legitimate GOAT discussion by the time he hits 30. To do what he did this year. This f***ed up, shortened season in which guys like Dirk Nowitzki, last year's finals MVP, admittedly came into out of shape (of course, that was ok because he's dirk and nobody hates him), LeBron was beast from day one. People want to talk about he took the easy road to win. Again, that's just emotional hatred and laziness on the part of fans. Yes, winning in Cleveland would've been amazing and the more romantic story. But here are the facts: Wade missed 17 games this year and coasted in about a dozen others. He was up and down all playoffs. Sure, Wade is by far the most talented teammate LeBron has ever had. But this was far from '06 Wade or even '09 Wade that won the scoring title. Chris Bosh missed 18 games (9 regular season, 9 playoffs). He came back and obviously made them better. They likely don't win without him. But still. This wasn't all-star Chris Bosh this postseason. The Heat have undoubtedly the worst C rotation the game has ever seen. Joel Anthony? Ronny Turiaf? Udonis Haslem? GMAFB. The rest of this roster is just garbage. Their guys have their moments. But c'mon now. This roster 4-12 is pretty embarrassing (and the only legitimate reason that anybody here had to believe the Bulls could beat the Heat). This was LeBron's show. Period. End of story. Can I suggest username change? James4Life

  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Please oh please play third base competently. Is this something you guys wish or will they be trying him at 3B ?
  10. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 01:11 AM) I thought this topic would be closed or moved by now. Yes I am SOX fan but I like to see spectacular pitchers when given the opportunity to do so. I have lived in Japan in the past and watched Darvish play but now that he's in the MLB it would be nice to watch him in person again. I have a lot of Japanese friends that if he were pitching would like to go to the ballpark. Since he's not, I rather not watch the SOX get KOed by a superior Rangers team without a good reason. For the record, I would hope that the SOX would crush him if he were pitching in that series. Not sure why my allegiance is being questioned here but to each their own. No worries, I was actually thinking that there must be some kind of connection to Darwish, anyhow.. the Sox have this Chris Sale guy, I heard he's pretty good. Cheers.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Isn't it a little strange KW rmentioned the attendance perhaps hurting his ability to add to the current roster only days after Peter Gammons reported the Sox offered Soler $25-30 million? Either Gammons is lying or KW is lying about being strapped for cash. Wouldn't be the first time. But I'm sure they could use more profit.
  12. QUOTE (Special K @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) I'm pretty sure it's his choice to pay to see whoever he wants and that has no bearing on his fandom. By your logic you should be attending every home game. He can send me all the White Sox memorabilia and buy Rangers'. OP said he will watch the game on TV because Darvish is not scheduled to pitch. It is definitely his choice, but how does it not have bearing on his fandom? You call yourself a White Sox fan?
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) Have you guys looked at Middlebrooks' stats? First glance looks great: .303/.340/.523? Sure! Second glance: 25% K rate, 5% BB rate, .367 BABIP, -3.8 Fld in just 37 games. This guy is poised to come crashing down HARD. I don't want him for what he would cost. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=3B Why would Boston even want to get rid of Middlebrooks? /thread.
  14. Sorry but a lot of what's being said in this thread is definition of whats wrong with Sox fans. Unreal.
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) So you're not buying Sox tickets because they won't be facing Darvish?
  16. I geuss Jake called out Hudson, well he said its frustrating team not playing fundamental baseball.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:10 PM) Didn't Dotel go on the DL recently? Yup, got recalled today .
