QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) Just checked the Trib and didn't see a direct quote, but there was Mark Gonzalez in his last mailbag saying that he didn't think Kotsay would be back next year. It's probably a good time for Mark to hang it up, I don't think he will be getting many offers this offseason.

Sox: Ozzie can return next season "If he wants to."
justBLAZE replied to TheBigHurt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) Wondering if anyone else noticed this? Yes, OLD news, Kenny put the ball in Ozzies court and said, Ozzie is under contract for 2011 and there is a team option for 2012, if Ozzie wants to purse a longer contract with a different organzation, White Sox won't stand in his way. /THREAD -
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) Um, CLEARLY it's nowhere NEAR as simple as that. It really is, Ozzie is under contract for next year and most likely will be your 2011 White Sox manager, don't buy into the whole soap opera.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) third base. Josh Fields was the only thing worth watching on the 2007 White Sox, then Crede was back but his back didn't hold up. Last year many wanted Beckham to stay at third base and hopefully we won't ever have to witness Teahen playing in the hot corner ever again, but I don't think you're right.

QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 07:51 AM) Smart move. KW shows Ozzie respect, thus covering his *** while opening the door to other teams wanting to negotiate with Ozzie. Next moves: - Somebody offers Ozzie a longer deal - The Sox want to wait until the end of next year before talking contract - Ozzie says he loves the Sox but has to think of his family first - Hello Miami Or Ozzie still has a contract with the Sox and stays for 2011.

Putz faces one batter, gives up a hit now Sale in to close things out with 2 man on. Ever since Bobby forearm issues this bullpen seems to hit a wall. Just sayin.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) You sick f*** And he comes through! Not sure if he is helping the Sox at this point even with the game tying RBI!

Kotsay in the on-deck circle! Oh how I've missed him!

http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2010/09...o_walk_awa.html Paulie hints here that he wants to play about 3 more years. READ he wants a 3 year deal to finish career with the White Sox.

Manny being a healthy scratch? Is this the day when Manny finally gives up on the season?

In this case, keep on losing fellas!

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Sox could be 2.5 GB of the 15th pick tonight. So what happens when we sign a Type A? We don't have to give up a 1st round pick as long as its 15 and back? Someone enlighten me please.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:22 PM) Come on Rios! Play some OzzieBall, steal 2nd! My fantasy team is collapsing! On that note I forgot to start Jackson tonight, DOH!

Walker May Retire -- according to the Sun Times

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) This is all about what "fluke" means. If you think it means the 2005 team somehow got lucky, then you are delusional. The team that went 1st place wire to wire, won 99 games and went 11-1 in the post-season was without a doubt the best team in baseball in 2005. Now, if by "fluke" you mean that 2005 was an unexpected and/or unlikely event compared to other seasons for the Sox, then obviously yes, it was a fluke. Lots of key players had career years, most specifically in the pitching staff. TRUTH, 100% spot on and couldn't have said it better myself. -
Carter first career HR, but really who didn't see this coming?
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 06:11 AM) gz can this season get much worse. end already. Seriesly. I know wins don't matter anymore but this team is not able to buy a win right now.

Put me in the group that liked how Entourage rebounded from last season! Just finished watching True Blood season 3, I'll probably keep watching it but I don't understand the hype that surrounds that show, I can't stand Sookie. Breaking Bad and SOA are currently the best shows on TV period. Can't wait to watch seasons tres!

The Town is the talk of facebook, at least among my friends, everyone seems to love it.

I think Kenny will try to save money and we will see Morel at 3B with a min salary, I also think Kenny will trade one of the starters and try to bring in a 1B/DH (pending what happens with Paulie), Quentin will remain a RF (yes i know), Kenny will then take a gamble on 5th starter ala 2010 Freddy Garcia hoping for a great half-season from some veteran/rejuvenation project having SALE in AAA waiting to take his spot. Or maybe this is what I would do.

QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 12:16 PM) Morel better get a nice long look at 3rd for 2011 at ST. If this is his defense and power stroke with a torn labrum I'd love to see him 100% Has this been confirmed by anyone in the organization? I heard this was taken from his FB page but the more I see this kid the more I just don't believe it. I would have to ask ptac but how can this kid play with a torn labrum, why would the Sox risk playing him? Maybe he's healthy after all?

Bringing Back Sox Supporters Section at Comiskey
justBLAZE replied to Night Train Veeck's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) The question is going to be how you get people in the section who are actually the rabid fans and not just taking whatever seats are available. The Milwaukee Bucks wound up, almost by accident, with a rabid fan section last year...because Andruw Bogut bought the tickets and distributed them to fans so that they could actually get in that area. I'd love to sit in a lower deck fan section somewhere near the action. The problem is...a premium game ticket for actual competitive games, like the Yankees or Cubs or during a pennant race...you're talking $68 a ticket for the lower-deck seats around the dugouts/home plate. Add in parking and a couple tickets and it's simply out of my price range. Unless there is something special done with ticket prices for that "Fan section", it's either going to wind up being in the Upper deck or the bleachers (and thus...impossible to hear) or it's going to be filled with the upper crust of White Sox fans who can afford it...just as those seats are now. My point exactly, I think this is where organization needs to step in and together with the supporters come up with a dedicated section. I think bleachers would work if there was enough fans , def not upper deck tho.
