we r getting guys that can compete at the major league level right now for a guy who has been average for us and will most likely leave..what do u think we should do..keep colon and let him become a free agent after this year and get nothing in return..do u really see us being able to compete with boston trying to sign colon??

I am for this trade and since it seems the sox werent going to resign colon anyway then whoever we get will be good for us..i think williams can get us some talent that will help us now and many years to come...remember the last time we traded with san francisco(not counting the Lofton deal)??

i totally agree that thomas is a much better hitter than bagwell if he wouldnt have gotten injured his numbers would have been much better

im from houston and i hate jeff bagwell...he is like 5'10" and scared to catch the ball or throw it..these last few years it really seems like he has lost it and i wish that him and biggio would just leave

the royals are lucky to avoid injury this year and will not be in first by the end of the season

just because colon isnt performing well doesnt mean that he has no heart out there...he is a professional and i dont think he is intentionally playing bad because he doesnt wanna be here...he has to be happy not to be on the expos or indians and on a team that has a good chance of winning their divison

well any colon is better than a pitcher we would get to replace him...in my mind buerhle,colon, and loazia sounds like one of the best combinations in baseball...i garuanntee that he will have a much better second half than the first half

ivan rodriguez started his career the same way olivo is..i think in about 2 years olivo will be the best defensive catcher in the league and carry a solid bat he just needs the time...he's a rookie..how much do you expect from him?? I agree with you about Konerko and in baseball sometimes things don't go your way,but in the end it all works itself out

he has pitched the most complete games on our team and he still is doing ok...at least he isnt putting up todd ritche numbers....i think the sox will let him go but if he ends the year at .500 we can get him for less..just because a player performs lower than expected doesnt mean he doesnt want to be here...if that was true than Konerko must really want to be traded.

i agree with trading Lee because we have plenty of rigth handed bats and he really doesnt do any spectacular that we would miss...i bet the sox will let colon go but i wonder if we could get him for a cheap price..he can be a solid pitcher for any team and i think that this year is a fluke and that he can win us 17-20 games consistently

olivo is a catcher with perhaps the strongest arm in the american league...(remember him throwing out crawford in tampa bay)...a catcher isnt expected to hit and the only catchers who hit well are ones who suck at defense...i think the sox have plenty of bats and need olivo's arm and defense much more than his hitting ability.. As for Konerko i think he will be one of the better hitters in the second half for the sox and help lead the sox to the playoffs..why would we trade a player who prolly has his trade value at its lowest in years?

i dont think we will see any 600ft home runs since even McGwire couldnt hit them that far..i predict the winner to be either Sexson or Delgado also

How can you call yourselves true sox fans when all you do is criticize the players on our team who are struggling and praise the ones who are doing good....koch has put up good numbers throughout his career and i think will eventually help the sox out much more than he will hurt us...i am just as much as a fan as you all but i dont see why everyone says he is horrible when all i heard about was how good he was when we first acquired him

i saw everett play in houston and he is just as good as any player when he is happy..lets just make sure we keep him happy

i wouldnt trade anyone for mora....i wouldnt even take him for FREE!!!! i wouldnt worry to much about ring leaving because we produce many good relievers and have a pretty good bullpen right now(with the exception of rick white)
