QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) That's a ridiculous hypothetical. Point stands: Cubs aren't trading Bryant for anyone. And to think Sale nets Bryant is ridiculous. Why would they help the Cubs? Because it would help us as well. To suggest the Cubs wouldn't trade Bryant for any collection of players in baseball is just pure ignorant. I'm 99.99999% sure they won't trade him, but it's not because he's better than any possible return could net.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) The Cubs aren't trading Bryant for anyone and Spencer Adams is a meaningless sweetener in such a hypothetical trade. Oh really? Cubs wouldn't trade Bryant for Kershaw, Urias, and Seager? I think you're wrong.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) Any Sale to the Cubs deal starts with Bryant and Contreras, though Schwarber would be a nice throw in. They're the Cubs, they would have to worse than Shelby Miller overpay to get Sale. That's far too much. I would rather have Sale than Bryant, but Bryant has 5 more years of control and will be cheaper than Sale. You would have to do like Sale + Adams or something.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) This is an intriguing, yet impossible thought for sure. I think everyone knows that Schwarber is a DH playing in the NL. If the Cubs were smart, they would deal Schwarber for a front line starting pitcher. If the Cubs want Sale, the White Sox will likely request Schwarber AND Baez. I just don't see the Cubs ever giving up on Baez. Although, if the Cubs do enter a bidding war with Boston, Texas etc-- a Baez/Schwarber package might be the most intriguing. I've been saying I could see the Cubs trading Schwarber to the Red Sox for Jackie Bradley Jr.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) I think all consoles need to have sports games that are a bit on the cartoony side, I don't even care if it is affiliated with a pro league. Ken Griffey Baseball was so much fun I love The Bigs baseball franchise.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 11:32 PM) I don't understand how sports betting works, if I put down $100 I'd walk away with $190? Yes, but I don't understand why they just don't say Odds are 1.9 or +1.9 or whatever. Because +190 means 1.9x the amount you bet....so? -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 11:03 PM) Also can't remember the last time BOTH starters were removed without having surrendered a single run. Last time it happened in the World Series was..... 2005, Game 4. -
Tesla unveiled their Powerwall 2.0 tonight, and their new Solar Roof. Instead of solar panels on a roof, it's solar shingles. They look surprisingly awesome, and are stronger than traditional roofs, will have heating coils like rear defrosts on a car to melt off snow, and apparently cost less than a traditional roof.

Seems like a really solid pick up, as far as late October waiver-claims go. I remember last year when the Brewers got him, Fangraphs or someone said he was a really shrewd pick up and could be useful. Glad we can at the very least replace Shuck if Tilson doesn't pan out enough to be our 4th OF.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Yeah, there is zero chance that Lawrie gets non-tendered. Garcia might have a small chance. I would say Avi has a much higher than a small chance at being non-tendered. I would say 80%.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) MLBTR says Nats aren't likely to give Ramos a QO. I call bs on that one. I predicted that in my Offseason Plan. He just had surgery and is out until Late May-Late June. Nats aren't going to pay him $17.4M for just over half a season. That's why I said the Sox should sign him for 1 yr/$8M, although I feel like that number may be a little low when you consider the Dodgers/Yankees/Cubs/Rangers have unlimited funds.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) That isn't close to enough for AJ Pollock and I doubt Arizona will trade him. The only reason I feel it may take more than that for Pollock is because the Dbacks have no pressing need to trade him. He only has 2 years left, and his last year will be very expensive, but I think there is a decent chance they will keep him if they aren't overpaid for him. One of those things I may adjust to either add a prospect, or improve a prospect. I was thinking of adding Zangari, partly because of the Goldschmidt-ceiling comps he's gotten anyway.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 01:55 AM) What's the link, look forward to reading it. This thread was opened to work without the assumption of a reasonable budget. ? http://www.southsidesox.com/2016/10/26/134...eason-plan-2016 Like I said, I'll probably make that in to a thread once I figure out the payroll, WAR increases per position, and maybe fine tune the contracts offered a bit.
-
Oh god no.

I have a ridiculously comprehensive offseason plan I put together over at SouthSideSox. I'm not sure if I want to post it in this thread, or make my own thread to encourage others to give a 1000 word plan or however many words I wrote.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 01:21 AM) Nice beatdown by the Cubs. Had to shock the Indians who had been cruising thru the postseason. Cubs might sweep in Chicago. If they only win two, they'll have to wrap it up in Cleveland. But only because those are the rules. -

Weekly White Sox Farm system update
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Louie Lechich with 1 scoreless inning today, 1 H, 1 K. Collins went 1/4 with a K. Hawkins went 1/4, HR, 2 RBI. Collins actually leads the 3 Sox players who played today with a .222 average. Yikes. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) If I'm trading with the Yankees and Sanchez is off the table, Sale and Quintana are off the table. He had a great rookie debut. They've had great years. Well, like it said, it could also be that his value is way too inflated right now and they try to offer something like Sanchez + 2 backend prospects or some sort of package that reflects Sanchez being a perennial all-star catcher already.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 07:09 PM) Hope we get the Attenborough-narrated version instead of a re-narration like the previous BBC ports. Or Oprah

If I am trading with the Yankees, and assuming Sanchez is either off the table or value is skyhigh, then go after Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) Cool, thanks for your input. I played it a couple times at a buddies house and I had a great time. How much extra is online generally? Is it a yearly thing or per month? It's like $50 a year, or $20 for 3 months or like $8.99 a month or something.
