  1. So my buddy and I are planning on arriving at US Cellular around 5 PM. That means we will be able to watching batting practice, right?
  2. The last couple episodes were great. Really made Kenny come off as a funny, light-hearted guy. I was watching with a Cubs fan, and a dbacks fan, and we were all laughing our ass off at Kenny saying "How does this guy know this s***?" and "Alright, everyone put your phones in the middle" during the Trade Deadline episode. And Ozzie riding around his bike was hilarious.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) Hope so. I'll be there tonight. Me too. Buy me a hotdog.
  4. I have a Golden Retriever named Casey. Nothing cool behind the name other than being an Irish family.
  5. 3/4 for Morel. Hell yes.
  6. Alright, that's enough for me. I'm out. Can't wait to go to the rainy game tomorrow and watch this team get slaughtered.
  7. So it doesn't actually require each team to make a decision for the next team in line to make a decision? Everyone just makes their claim at any point during that 48 hours, and then the team w/ the worse record that put in a claim gets first pick (starting with their own league). This makes much more sense. I thought it was like, the Sox, for instance, couldn't make the decision to pass or claim until all the other teams with worse records made their decisions first. 2nd question. Do the standings freeze the day the instant the player is put on waivers, or do the standings reflect after the 48 hours is over? Like, if the Sox AND Minnesota put in a claim tomorrow afternoon after Manny is placed on waivers, while the Sox are in second place, do the records get locked in at that time, or do they wait until 48 hour period ends, and say maybe the Sox have taken over the division again?
  8. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) Once placed on waivers teams have 48 hours to put a claim on him. After the 48 hour period is up and no claim has been made the player has made it through waivers and can be traded freely. If a player is placed on waivers Thursday or Friday, they 48 hour period extends and ends on the following Monday and Tuesday. So it doesn't actually require each team to make a decision for the next team in line to make a decision? Everyone just makes their claim at any point during that 48 hours, and then the team w/ the worse record that put in a claim gets first pick (starting with their own league). 9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) lol, that's actually a pretty good way to look at it. Although, it would be hard for it to work out that perfectly on the very day we drop to 2nd place. How quick do the players go through waivers? Like could the Dodgers say "Alright, the White Sox are now in 2nd place, we may have a chance to work out a deal w/ them w/o Minny blocking the claim. Let's put him through now". Or does it take a few days for a claim to be made? Is there a certain window you have to decide on a player if you want to claim him or not?
  10. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Well it'll be easier to get Manny after tonight, since the Twins won't be able to block anymore. lol, that's actually a pretty good way to look at it. Although, it would be hard for it to work out that perfectly on the very day we drop to 2nd place.
  11. QUOTE (Queen Prawn @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Why do the Sox always wet the bed when they play the Twins? Or is this the Sox coming back to earth? A little of both. We see "Minnesota" on the schedule and we just give up.
  12. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) everyone was crying too hard to actually watch the replay and see that he was easily back. No big deal though....guy getting picked off first to start an inning doesn't kill a rally or anything. It was the wrong call, yes, but we shouldn't have to attribute possibly losing this game to the umpires calls. If we need calls to go our way to win the game, then we don't deserve to win in the first place.
  13. QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Unfortunately, our opinions mean s***. I'm just saying. People are giving Juan s***, when they should be giving the umpire s***.
  14. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) isn't it enough that we play like retards against the twins? Do they really need the umps help too? f***ing christ Hawk, is that you?
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) f*** JUAN! He looked safe.
  16. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) Lillibridge may be coming back down to earth. You sure? I thought he would hit .400+ all season.....
  17. BTW, Kenny called this s*** pregame. He said "Carlos is very, VERY close right now to going on another hot tear". Hell yes Kenny, you can scout 'em!
  18. Carlos! Calm down Hawk, but Carlos!!!!
  19. Sweet job Kotsay. Hawk has started his "Well, the umpire's really ruined this game for us tonight".
  20. Hit the showers Freddy, you suck tonight.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Called him out for running out of the baseline at 1b Speculating, or is that what happened? And if that's what happened, then shouldn't players always try and do that on bases loaded, ball hit to 1B because if they get called out for being in the baseline, then it eliminates the force play? Or was the only reason the runner was safe at home because AJ didn't have his foot on the base?
  22. So I just heard on CSN that Konerko said he never touched the bag at 1B, and thus the out should have been called at home. In the replay, you will notice that he didn't actually touch 1B, he stopped short of it to throw home. But even though he never touched first, the out was given to 1B. But if you notice in the replay, the 1B umpire rules "SAFE" at 1B after Paulie throws to home. So the 1B ump SAW that Konerko didn't touch the bag, but still didn't correct the umpire at home. And even if he didn't correct the umpire at home, he ended up ruling the runner OUT at 1B, even though he just called him safe..... Interesting play. So either the out should have been called at home, or the runner should have been safe at 1B. Unless that is, the umpire was ruling the runner safe because AJ was not touching home plate, and he actually was ruling under the assumption that a tag was NOT needed. But that still doesn't explain why the runner was called out at 1B. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...ame_pk%3D265482
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) Wait. Did I just hear Joe West is umping this series. f***ing wonderful. No Buehrle this series, so we are OK in that department.
  24. 6-3 over this homestand would be fantastic, but 5-4 is needed.
