  1. I'm not a second guesser usually, but man... Bummer is made for these situations - 2 on, force out everywhere, ground ball machine.
  2. Walks are KILLING the Sox in this game
  3. I think every one of these walks has scored this series. Need to break that trend.
  4. NO DP NOW! They can get wild pitches too!
  5. Yaz got a GOOD pitch to hit there. Woof.
  6. Jose needs to lay off that low pitch. He crushed it last year but he's beating it into the ground this year.
  7. With how wild Valdez has been and how many runners we've had on I'm surprised he's only averaging 15 pitches per inning - oh right two double plays.
  8. They can't score because the bottom of the lineup is like 0-20. Sure it hurts that the middle isn't doing as much as they should, but you can't sustain or build long rallies when you have 1/3 of the lineup doing absolutely nothing. This is why they need to go after a 2B and RF.
  9. Be in the playoffs for the next 5 years, make deep runs, win 100+ games.
  10. I don't disagree with Alyson right now. This is the team we saw for long stretches in the second half, especially on the road. It shouldn't be surprising. We need to keep the Astros at 2 runs and grind away. Get lucky and tie or take the lead. Any more runs given up will be tough to overcome, given how bad the offense looks right now.
  11. This is basically a carbon copy of the first series in Houston so far. Need a break out inning to take some of the nerves out. Let's have some good at-bats this inning.
  12. So far this is looking like an offense that can't compete at a high level. No power, bad at-bats, poor situational hitting, chasing borderline/bad pitches.
  13. The book on a number of Sox hitters is obviously to let them get themselves out.
  14. They are just nails with RISP so far. Every runner that gets to second scores.
  15. Sox hit a lot of ground balls. Those move slower on wet dirt.
  16. He also got the benefit of some borderline calls. I've seen him get roughed up and its when he can't locate the breaking ball and needs to rely on the fastball. He can't spot that as well and can get beat. I bet that was the Sox plan of attack but it didn't work out. I want to know why they didn't seemingly try to adapt. Crowd the plate and take away the inside. Look for the ball outside - mostly what he did was throw offspeed away all game.
  17. Engel looks like shit man. Jesus.
  18. Lynn: 3 2/3, 5 runs Bullpen: 4 1/3, 1 run We can absolutely win this series but we need to hit.
  19. So... 6 in the 9th then the mad Australian?
  20. In high school I played the #3 kid in state in singles tennis and got demolished. Almost won a game though! This was so our actual first singles player could face worse competition and make it farther. He still lost. Moral of the story? The Sox better win tomorrow.
  21. Lot of really weak contact today. Looks like they're waiting back but not quite long enough.
  22. Now McCullers isn't getting the corner
  23. I think that was ball 4 also. Thank go Yoan was moving. Grab a run here now!
  24. I don't think McCullers can hit the inside corner consistently. Lean and look outside.
