Danks to Miss Start, Torres to start in place
Prediction: Torres stays up the rest of the year, and starts at least 10 games.

Lucas Harrell with 6 shutout innings so far. Charlotte leading big. Anderson not in the lineup. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...94&sid=t494

7/20 Games
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 07:45 AM) Do my eyes deceive me, or did Derek Rodriguez get a start for Charlotte? Are they converting him? Torres was scheduled to start. He was called up, so it went to the bullpen.

Gordon Beckham at 3B
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) I think he's a great #3 hitter and could be a multiple time all-star if he moves to 2nd base Agree 100%. I think he'll be there next season. This is just a one year thing.

Wasn't Carlos Torres supposed to start tonight? Maybe they want to get him pitching the same schedule as Richard, so they're moving him to tomorrow? Seems fishy. I did hear Cooper say last night that if Richard were to fall out of the rotation there are two candidates to take his place- Colon and Torres. No mention of Poreda at all, which is not a surprise to me but a lot of people want Poreda to start. It's not going to happen. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/index.jsp?sid=t494

The Carlos Quentin Activated from DL
Wise? Anderson? What's the diff if Quentin, Podsednik, and Dye are playing everyday? Not really a big story here, in my opinion.

Brandon Allen
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) On top of it, Pena has been downright terrible for us. And Pena sucked the month before he came to the Sox, so it's even more horrible. He better start bringing value before this season ends to make that trade worth it.

Brandon Allen
Ugh. I hate this trade. Let's try to forget about Allen.
-
Dex Carter
Good game tonight...he'll move up.

AAA All-Star Game, ESPN2 or MiLB.tv at 9 Central
I've now seen Carlos Torres pitch a total of one inning of baseball, and I can already tell I'd rather see him pitch every fifth game than Clayton Richard.

Halladay Superthread
The Sox aren't getting Halladay, and they'll never trade Beckham in the next decade.

Post your questions for Dan Hudson!
Is it Dan or Daniel?

Hudson, Carter, Poreda, Flowers for Halladay?

7/9 Games
Nobody can accuse Dexter Carter of being afraid to pitch to contact.

Final line on Colon: 5 inn, 2 hits, 1 run, 2 bb, 1 k Torres is in. I assume he'll go four innings.

When is this nightmare going to stop?
I think Poreda would suck in a major league rotation right now. Carlos Torres should be given a shot after the break.

7/9 Game Thread Sox vs. Cleveland 1:05pm CDT CSN
A 3-spot and a 1-2-3 from Bobby would be a nice way to end this.

The necessary "HELL YES!"/Hawk poll
I don't like it. I wouldn't say I'm offended or anything, but I'm sure there are people out there that don't want their kids running around the house yelling "hell yes!". And it just sounds stupid if he uses it over and over. If it happens out of just pure emotion, fine. But the "hell yes" and the "double yes" just sound forced at this point. Knock it off, Hawk.

White Sox Acquire RP Tony Pena from ARI for Brandon Allen
Brandon Allen is 23. He'll be 24 next February.
-
7/7 Games
4 shutout innings for Jhonny Nunez. Apparently he can't give the Sox bullpen what Tony Pena can.

White Sox Acquire RP Tony Pena from ARI for Brandon Allen
Or Phegley is the future catcher and Flowers will play 1B. Either way, that seems a lot to give up for a relief pitcher. We'll see.
