  1. Viciedo missed a popup to begin the bottom of the 10th. Man on 2nd, nobody out.
  2. Gartrell RBI single in the 10th. 13-12 Barons
  3. Barons just put up a 5 spot to tie it up in the 9th. Grand Slam for John Shelby. Still batting 1 out.
  4. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...80&sid=t580 Big night for Salvador Sanchez, and nice game for Lowe.
  5. Charlotte wins 3-1. Contreras gets the win. He'll be up Monday to pitch in the doubleheader, I'm sure. Beckham 1-4, double (21), run, throwing error (10).
  6. Omogrosso is all over the place. Gave up 6 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks in the 1st inning. 39 pitches. 18 strikes. 21 balls.
  7. Beckham is 0-2, but has hit the ball hard twice. First AB--hit a liner to Zach Jackson. The ball deflected and was caught by the first baseman. His 2nd Ab--he hit a hard shot to 3B, and Marte made the error.
  8. Kannapolis won 9-6. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...87&sid=t487 Charlotte is trailing. Beckham 0-1. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...colaaa_chraaa_1 Birmingham is off to a fast start. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...biraax_hunaax_1 Winston-Salem http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...80&sid=t580
  9. I don't know when it happened, but they took a hit away from Beckham. The first inning bunt single was changed to a sacrifice and an error to move him to second. He was 10-20. Now he's 9-19 at Charlotte.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) He wore #5 with the Barons, they have no #6 jersey. He wore #8 with Kanny last year. Eduardo Escobar was wearing #6 when Beckham joined the team. I think they'll give him #6 when he goes up. I think it would be great if the team finally gave a player 6...and Beckham would be a good guy to give it to. I don't think he'll get it though. I think it's a Reinsdorf thing. I don't know why, but 25 would look cool--next year.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 10:04 PM) The problem is that we don't have the most steady defensive team out there already, and a few of our pitchers don't pitch over mistakes well. And with 9 errors that would put him on pace for about the low thirties over a full 162 games Our division winning team made 33 errors at 3B last year.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) I'm not worried about his bat, I am worried about the nine errors he has already in a much slower game at the minor league level. Errors happen. I'm not too worried about it. It's not like he's on pace for 40-50 of them. Now, if he plays 3B exclusively and he's just plain bad, then we have a problem.
  13. Different teams, but Danks and Beckham are both 3-5.
  14. I think a lot of people (including myself) are trying to talk themselves into thinking he's not ready simply because he was drafted just last year, and he hasn't played a certain amount of minor league games. Even Joe Cowley had a Twitter earlier saying Ozzie said "if Beckham comes up, we're in trouble." Well Ozzie, I got news for you. He's ready.
  15. Gordon Beckham is 2-2. Bunt single, double, 2 runs, 2 RBIs Batting .529 at Charlotte. Charlotte leads 7-0 in the 2nd inning.
  16. He'll play 25 games at Charlotte and be up on June 23.
  17. Charlotte lost. Contreras no decision. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...94&sid=t494
  18. Beckham reached on another error. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it to a hit. I'm saying he's 2-4 today.
  19. Contreras implosion. Gave up 4 runs. There was blown call at 2B. Chambliss got thrown out. After Contreras gave up a 2-run homer, Andy Phillips went off on the ump. He was tossed.
  20. Lillibridge with a three run homer. See Ozzie, he is a power hitter. Beckham doubled. He's 1-3.
  21. 2nd AB: Beckham flies out on a first pitch.
  22. E6--Beckham safe at 1st
  23. Columbus is using 3 bullpen pitchers today. If they have to use anyone else, it'll be a position player. Might be a good way for Beckham to break in.
  24. Beckham at 3B, batting 2nd. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...chraaa_colaaa_1
  25. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 27, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) way too much expectation is being placed on this guy, IMO. With good reason. He's going to be the face of the franchise the next decade. I'm not saying he should be in Chicago before September, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was.
