  1. Reds at Cubs: Fri, 1:20 Stephenson vs Quintana Sat, 3:05 Stephens vs Lester Sun, 2:20 McGuire vs Arrieta Sox at Indians: Fri, 6:10 Pelfrey vs Bauer Sat, 6:10 Fulmer vs Kluber Sun, 2:10 Volstad vs Tomlin Hopefully the Cubs starters are just in there for 5 innings. The Sox magic number over the Reds is 3.
  2. Stanton hit two tonight. 59 heading into the final weekend against the Braves in Miami. In the year of the juiced ball, a 60 homer season makes total sense.
  3. 1. Giants 62-97 2. Tigers 63-96 3. Phillies 64-95 4. White Sox 66-93 5. Reds 67-92* 6. Mets 69-90 7. Padres 70-89 8. Braves 71-88 9. Pirates 73-86 10. A's 74-85 11. Marlins 75-84 12. Orioles 75-84 13. Blue Jays 75-84 14. Rangers 76-83 15. Rays 77-82 16. Mariners 77-82 17. Angels 78-81 18. Royals 78-81 * Reds need to be 1 game worse than the Sox in the last 3 games to have a higher pick
  4. Nice to see the Astros up big on the Red Sox early. The Indians will probably need to win two to lock down the AL 1-seed.
  5. I just look at it this way... The higher the pick, the more options you have, and the bigger bonus pool. Obviously they could get the same guy at 4 that they would have got at 3, but I'm just having fun rooting for something. This isn't a real sweaty palms thing.
  6. Hopefully the Angels have some motivation to get to .500 before the season ends and they light up Covey. I expect some of their regulars to sit tonight, though. Also, the Indians are still trying to wrap up the AL 1-seed. Their magic number is 3, and they should beat a tired Twins team this afternoon. Low expectations for the Sox losing all 4, but it's not out of the question. And then the Phillies would have to beat the Mets twice for the Sox to move up to 3rd.
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 28, 2017 -> 06:43 AM) Face it, Sox are not in line for top 3 pick. It'll be somewhere 4-6. They clinched top 5 last night.
  8. I'm going to hold out for a little bit of hope the Sox can lose 4 and the Phillies can beat the Mets 2 out of 3.
  9. 4 days left Team (Games left) - Sox Magic Number to have higher pick: 1. Giants (3) - 7, Sox Elim # - 1 2. Tigers (4) - 7, Sox Elim # - 2 3. Phillies (3) - 6, Sox Elim # - 2 4. White Sox (4) 5. Reds (4) - 3 (+2.0 GA)* 6. Mets (3) 7. Padres (3) 8. Braves (4) 9. A's (4) 10. Pirates (4) * Reds need to be two games worse than the Sox in the last 4 games to have a higher pick
  10. If the Tigers lose tomorrow night, they'll enter the final weekend with the 1st pick. 11-39 the last 50
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 27, 2017 -> 05:08 PM) Detroit is a poor excuse for a baseball team. Yep, 11-38 the last 49 qualifies. Giants up 3-1 going to the 8th.
  12. Just like Avi, open to moving him if the deal is right, but definitely don't extend him now. The front office can't back off the "laser focus" of the rebuild.
  13. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Sep 27, 2017 -> 09:54 AM) Basically the Sox are picking 4th unless they go 0-5 and one of the top 3 win 2. The Phillies are definitely the best chance. Let's just lose out and see if the Phillies beat the Mets 2 of 3. Giants could beat the Padres 2 of 3 too. Lose out and "The Freeze" this thing to the 2nd pick. Tigers? They're losing 100.
  14. 5 days left Team (Games left) - Sox Magic Number to have higher pick: 1. Giants (4) - 7, Sox Elim # - 3 2. Tigers (5) - 7, Sox Elim # - 4 3. Phillies (4) - 7, Sox Elim # - 3 4. White Sox (5) 5. Reds (5) - 4 (+2.0 GA)* 6. Mets (4) - 1 7. Padres (4) 8. Braves (5) 9. A's (5) 10. Pirates (5) * Reds need to be two games worse than the Sox in the last 5 games to have a higher pick
  15. Sale's Cy is going to have to wait for another year.
  16. Giolito 31 starts, 174 innings Damn good pitcher who uses his noggin out there.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 26, 2017 -> 10:01 AM) Cubs should have the division clinched by then. They'll probably rest a few guys so we'll see how the Reds do after that. Yes. Also some starting pitchers may just get 5 innings in, and get out. It would be nice to get the 4th pick wrapped up before Sunday.
  18. Reds probable pitchers. Quintana and Lester scheduled this weekend as of now. http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/news/probab...ex.jsp?c_id=cin Seriously Reds, win two games this week.
