  1. A fair take. I still don’t think the central winner makes it to a best of 5 series, and possibly wins the 3-seed with a losing record. That would still mean everyone should be fired. Hahn would probably spike the football if they win this s%*# division.
  2. Guardians win in 14. Day off the schedule. Kudos to the Sox pen. Middleton has been a great addition.
  3. The Moncada thing is what it is at this point, and it will be resolved in about 16 months. He’s getting almost 30 mil next year for not being very good. If he gets it together, great. If not, his career is over at 30, and he’s still very rich.
  4. 52 division games total this season. Sox have played half at 15-11. Twins 20: 12-8, haven’t played the Tigers yet Guardians 19: 8-11, haven’t played Royals yet
  5. Anyone think he didn’t feel like running on what he perceived as a routine double play ball, and then when it was thrown away, he had to fake it? I’m not saying that by the way. I say it was a cramp and he plays tonight.
  6. That’s sad if true. A guy like Wheeler should be given the opportunity to get a career moment, even if it takes 135 pitches. it’s over- but the point stands
  7. So what’s the lineup if they lost? That should be the lineup as penalty for once being 14 under .500. But whatever…
  8. Just my humble opinion, but all 162 get their own thread. Game 2 at 6:35
  9. So replay doesn’t favor the Yankees?
  10. They going to try to get him through the 5th and he’ll undoubtedly give up 2 more runs?
  11. Yes, this is what they should do. Play the 7 teams in your division 13 games= 91 And if they like playing every team so much, the other 24 teams x 3= 72 That’s 163. Subtract 1 or flip 82 and 81 home games year to year.
  12. That would be all types of stupid. Guess they want under .500 teams making the postseason after 162. Brilliant.
  13. Twins/Rays scoreless after 3. Could be under .500 before the Sox game starts. (Correa homer 1-0)
  14. Amen. I can’t believe they’ve actually said they’ll go to 8 divisions of 4 teams, but that’s Manfred for you. Hopefully they’ll come to their senses before that happens. The smart thing is 16 teams in the Eastern time zone. 8 Central. 8 mtn/pac. Realignment. 4 division winners. 8 wildcards. But I bet they’ll go to 14 postseason teams because they can’t help themselves.
  15. There’s a difference between an all out sprint and a professional level of running down the line on a routine grounder. Just give me the latter and we won’t have a problem. Dog it, I will look forward to the day you aren’t on the team I root for.
  16. Baseball-Reference has had the Sox at 1-2% to make the postseason most of the time. After yesterday, Sox went from 2 to 4.7%, which is a huge one day jump for where they are. Fangraphs is at 8.4 to win the Central. By the way, if the Central winner wins without at least 81 wins, they aren’t allowed to call themselves champions of anything. And a locker room celebration before winning 2 of 3 in the wildcard round would be super lame.
  17. Red Sox about to takeover the Guardians. Could be a good week for the Sox. Man, the AL Central is garbage. Don’t f this up, Graveman.
  18. deGrom getting TJS. I could see the Rangers looking at Giolito.
  19. Arraez 83-208 (.399)
  20. Just the next three weeks look tough. 6-12 wouldn’t surprise me at all. 9-9 would be surviving. But yes, nice pitching against the shitty Tigers.
