  1. Yes, this is what they should do. Play the 7 teams in your division 13 games= 91 And if they like playing every team so much, the other 24 teams x 3= 72 That’s 163. Subtract 1 or flip 82 and 81 home games year to year.
  2. That would be all types of stupid. Guess they want under .500 teams making the postseason after 162. Brilliant.
  3. Twins/Rays scoreless after 3. Could be under .500 before the Sox game starts. (Correa homer 1-0)
  4. Amen. I can’t believe they’ve actually said they’ll go to 8 divisions of 4 teams, but that’s Manfred for you. Hopefully they’ll come to their senses before that happens. The smart thing is 16 teams in the Eastern time zone. 8 Central. 8 mtn/pac. Realignment. 4 division winners. 8 wildcards. But I bet they’ll go to 14 postseason teams because they can’t help themselves.
  5. There’s a difference between an all out sprint and a professional level of running down the line on a routine grounder. Just give me the latter and we won’t have a problem. Dog it, I will look forward to the day you aren’t on the team I root for.
  6. Baseball-Reference has had the Sox at 1-2% to make the postseason most of the time. After yesterday, Sox went from 2 to 4.7%, which is a huge one day jump for where they are. Fangraphs is at 8.4 to win the Central. By the way, if the Central winner wins without at least 81 wins, they aren’t allowed to call themselves champions of anything. And a locker room celebration before winning 2 of 3 in the wildcard round would be super lame.
  7. Red Sox about to takeover the Guardians. Could be a good week for the Sox. Man, the AL Central is garbage. Don’t f this up, Graveman.
  8. deGrom getting TJS. I could see the Rangers looking at Giolito.
  9. Arraez 83-208 (.399)
  10. Just the next three weeks look tough. 6-12 wouldn’t surprise me at all. 9-9 would be surviving. But yes, nice pitching against the shitty Tigers.
  11. There’s 101 games left. 86-76 would mean 60-41. Possible, but unlikely.
  12. Hopefully find a way to go 3-3 the next three weeks.
  13. Elvis is toast
  14. I was joking.
  15. I don’t see the Sox playing any better than .500 from here to the end of July, which still puts them at around 10 under .500 with about 60 games left. If they win tomorrow and somehow go 4-2 vs Yankees and Marlins, I’m sure I’ll get roped in to some optimism again. But I highly doubt the next week goes well for the Sox.
  16. Fangraphs has the Sox at about 4% to win the division. So there’s a 1 in 25 chance. Sox will sell. They can say anything they want now. Baseball Ref has their odds at 0.9%.
  17. Yay. Sox score 3 of the 6 runs scored by AL Central teams tonight.
  18. If Vaughn is a bust, what is Torkelson?
  19. Let’s face it…this is three games between two teams that aren’t going to make the playoffs. One will win two games probably- and it doesn’t matter either way.
  20. Alberto will probably get picked up by someone. Cash considerations incoming.

Clevinger is starting tonight (his pic was up on the Sox site as the starter a little while ago. Now it’s TBD. Probably still him.)
